Ready

213: I'll make you fly when I host a banquet.

Looking at the hysterical Marshal Dietrich, "Celius" calmly took half a step back.

A single real battle report could deal such a heavy blow to him.

It seemed this Marshal had been kept in the dark all along—

An idea suddenly popped into his head.

So, he immediately used his body's muscle memory to give a tug, thought of some sad things from before, and in the blink of an eye, he began to wail in grief again.

"Marshal—my Lord Marshal!"

"It is my honor to be the sharp sword in your hand!"

"Only, you also know of those Traitors in the Ministry of National Defense!"

"They want to marginalize you! Even the most elite and loyal Imperial Guard Legion has moles planted by them!"

Dietrich watched this tearful scene, his entire body trembling.

Perhaps in normal times, when he could think calmly, he would maintain a certain wait-and-see or skeptical attitude toward this matter.

But now, after receiving such a massive shock, Dietrich could no longer think calmly.

The Ministry of National Defense, which was usually unreliable but still functional, was transformed in Dietrich's heart in an instant into tigers, leopards, and wolves—a group of ambitious careerists and Traitors who wanted to overthrow him.

And only the Colonel "Karl" before him, who was willing to show him the "battle report hidden by the Ministry of National Defense," was his true and only confidant now.

So, without almost any thought, he reached his trembling fingers into his coat, searched several times, and pulled out an electronic screen. He then tapped it violently, making muffled "thump, thump, thump" sounds.

After a moment, he finished his task and leaned his hands on "Celius's" shoulders.

"I knew it!!! I should have known!!!"

"When those people from the Ministry of National Defense used the war with The Empire as an excuse to transfer all our secret inspectors away! I should have known!!!"

"Damn the Ministry of National Defense, they truly harbor ill intentions!!!"

As he spoke, he patted the shoulders he was leaning on heavily several times, saying with a look of grief and indignation:

"Karl—my child! My most loyal child!"

"You know our predicament and understand our plight!"

"Those damn hyenas and jackals, when we were strong, united, and invincible, they were like lapdogs submissively at their master's feet!"

"But now—as soon as I show a weak side, they want to devour me directly!"

"But in the end! It was I! Who gave them everything! It is my family! Our glory! Our greatness! It has nothing to do with them!"

As he spoke, he looked into "Celius's" eyes, a flicker of hope and eagerness appearing on his wrinkled face.

"But fortunately—"

"We still have people like you, whose loyalty is beyond words—I still have you!"

"I have already given you the highest authority over the Imperial Guard Legion!"

"From now on! You are no longer an ordinary Colonel! You have become a supremely honorable Level Six General!"

"I command you—pick out the soldiers in the Imperial Guard Legion who are still loyal, and then lead them to take over the entire Space City's defense system!"

"Shoot all Traitors!"

"The two guards I have here—they are absolute confidants! They have undergone extensive biological modification and electronic implants! Both their reaction speed and combat power far exceed ordinary people!"

"Now—take one of them... no, take both of them. Unless you encounter an organized rebel army, they can absolutely guarantee your safety within this space station!"

"The future of The Consortium—our future is now in your hands!"

"I know it's hard, but this is an order!"

Looking at the somewhat delirious Marshal, "Celius" agreed with him on the surface while secretly thinking what a great opportunity this was.

Wasn't this a blade handed over personally by the Marshal?

Moreover, this blade wasn't just for him alone; its targets included almost all of his mission objectives—

Originally, the targets set for this time were basically all officials of The Consortium's Ministry of National Defense.

Thus, "Celius" stood to attention without hesitation, crying excitedly while roaring with all his might:

"I will not fail your expectations!"

Dietrich nodded.

After taking several deep breaths, he shouted to the two silent guards at the door—

"You two! Now! I command you to follow Karl! Protect his safety at all times!"

"Until he completes the Purge—do not let him get injured!"

"Yes."

Two flat, cold electronic responses came back, and Dietrich nodded with slight satisfaction.

"Good—I await your good news!"

"Remember, after this battle is over, our Consortium will still be at the Pinnacle of the Sea of Stars."

"This glory! Shall be shared by you and me!"

"Go!"

After saying this, he waved his hand, letting "Celius," who was already "moved to tears," leave his office.

Stepping out of the double-sealed doors, Celius ignored the astonished looks of the sentries on both sides and walked forward slowly—

They weren't looking at him, but at the two tall and powerful guards behind him.

With "Celius" leading the way, the three of them headed toward the Imperial Guard Legion's headquarters.

He already had a preliminary plan—

Since the Marshal trusted him so much, he shouldn't mind if he replaced a few people from the Imperial Guard Legion with his own, right?

Thinking this, he quietly opened his implanted personal terminal, connected to night lamp, opened the team's command channel, and asked:

"All teams report mission progress and whether you have engaged the enemy?"

Almost immediately, a reply was sent back:

"Special situation. All teams acting separately have concentrated together, except for Team One."

"But except for Team Nine, none have formally begun their operations."

Concentrated? What happened?

"Celius" immediately asked in the communication:

"Can someone tell me what happened to your mission targets?"

"Report, night lamp discovered an unexpected situation in the communications—"

"Just now, all our targets were invited to attend a banquet."

"The initiators of that banquet are several so-called 'First-Class Citizen' families, and we have already investigated the location and time of that banquet."

"After consultation, we decided to conduct a joint operation to launch a raid on the banquet hall. After quickly controlling the situation, we will precisely lock onto the targets and take them away."

Celius thought for a moment, and then he understood—

Perform a concentrated arrest after the targets have concentrated?

Indeed, this efficiency was several times higher, and it wouldn't alert the enemy due to inconsistent timing.

Furthermore, his current identity could provide a massive boost to this plan—

"What stage is this plan at now?"

This time, the other side took a few minutes to reply—

"Team Nine and Team Thirteen have completed their infiltration. They used consciousness transfer to take over 20 service personnel on-site."

"And before this, we performed memory extraction on those service personnel, so there is basically no risk of them being exposed—"

"Only, I don't think you'd want to know the contents of those memories."

"As for other preparations, we have scouted all entrances and exits of the banquet hall, both official and secret."

"Currently, with the assistance of night lamp, we are investigating the other attendees."

"Celius" looked at the report in his mind and replied with a "Good."

He had already thought about how the two sides should coordinate...
