71: Werewolf power
Chapter 71: The Power of the Werewolf.
The wind howled past his ears, stinging his face. The Vampire was certain that the person on his back would not dare to kill him.
Instead, he began performing aerial acrobatics, soaring straight up toward higher altitudes, then suddenly diving down, and then performing a full three-hundred-and-sixty-degree spin.
The purpose was simply to shake Xu Jingzhe off.
However, Xu Jingzhe was like a blood-sucking leech, clamping his legs tightly around the Vampire's waist and choking his neck with one hand; he could not be shaken loose.
And every now and then, he would punch the Vampire!
The force wasn't light, but it wasn't heavy either; it was just enough to make him suffer.
Gradually, Xu Jingzhe adapted to the feeling of soaring through the heavens, rising straight up ninety thousand miles.
Watching the magnificent and towering mountains below him become like ants, a sense of heroism swelled in his heart.
"Fly higher!" Xu Jingzhe loudly ordered the Vampire.
"Damn it! Disobedient!"
"Thump!" A punch landed right on his eye, immediately giving him a black eye.
The Vampire was furious but had no choice but to comply.
"Fly faster! Give me that G-force feeling!"
"Stop dragging your feet."
"Damn it!"
"Bang!" A loud slap landed on his face, and immediately, five stark red finger marks swelled up.
The Vampire nearly ground his four canine teeth to dust. He was the dignified Duke Vladimir, the sole Duke of the Vampire lineage, with pure and noble blood!
Yet he was being used as an airplane by a human!
This was intolerable.
But, he still had to endure it!
"Drift! Can't you bloody drift?"
"Then what kind of Vampire are you?!
"Slap!" Another loud smack across the face.
"Do a flip! Continuous, three-hundred-and-sixty-degree ones."
"Oh yeah~ Awesome!"
Xu Jingzhe cheered loudly; this mode of transportation was too enjoyable.
"Is there any way to control him and make him obedient?" Xu Jingzhe asked.
System: "Ding. Be stronger than him. No matter where he hides, even to the ends of the earth, you will always be able to find him."
"Then he will obediently listen to you!"
Xu Jingzhe frowned; that certainly wasn't possible right now.
Frowning deeply, he slapped Vladimir again. "What's the point of being so good at flying?"
If he ran away, how easy would it be to catch him next time?
System: "Ding. However, there is another way!"
Xu Jingzhe perked up and said, "Tell me quickly, tell me quickly."
System: "Ding. Cut off one of his wings and use it as a threat."
"Vampires have very strong vitality, no less than their sworn enemies, the Werewolves. But their weakness is that a severed wing cannot regenerate; they must find the original wing and reattach it."
"Without wings, he cannot fly, and his combat effectiveness is reduced by half."
Xu Jingzhe understood and ordered the Vampire to lower his altitude.
After flying for so long, Vladimir was also tired, having expended a huge amount of internal energy. Xu Jingzhe gave him an opening, and he took it.
The altitude rapidly decreased. When they were about ten meters above the ground, Vladimir refused to descend any further.
He was worried that if he landed, Xu Jingzhe would slit his throat.
"Are you really not going to land?" Xu Jingzhe's hand reached toward his lower back.
"How could I, the dignified Duke Vladimir, land on the ground!"
Xu Jingzhe sneered, wasting no more words. His hand moved, the knife fell, a cold flash appeared, and a large amount of blue blood spilled out.
"Ah!"
A mournful shriek echoed across the sky. One of Vladimir's featherless wings was severed at the root by Xu Jingzhe, who held it tightly in his hand.
Having lost the wing needed for balance and flight, Vladimir plummeted downward, while Xu Jingzhe used him as a cushion.
"Thud!" A large cloud of dust was kicked up as Vladimir smashed a half-meter deep pit into the ground.
Xu Jingzhe jumped out of the pit with a smile, kicked him with his foot, and said, "Stop pretending to be dead. Losing one wing won't kill a Vampire."
There was no response from the pit.
"Then I'll be going. You can sleep here forever."
Xu Jingzhe wasn't worried. He took the severed wing and walked away, limping slightly.
The wound on his upper thigh was still bleeding because he had been straining his legs the entire time.
Damn it, a Vampire's bite really hurts.
After walking a few hundred meters, the Vampire rose from the pit. Confirming that Xu Jingzhe knew the Vampire's secret, he stopped pretending and limped along to follow.
He had pretended to be dead, thinking Xu Jingzhe didn't know the secret of the severed wing, and hoping that Xu Jingzhe would accidentally leave it behind.
Xu Jingzhe stopped, slowly turned around, and asked with a mischievous grin, "Do you want your severed wing back?"
Vladimir nodded dejectedly.
"Become my mount, swear the ancient Vampire Blood Oath, and I will return your severed wing."
"What! I, the dignified Duke Vladimir, become a human's mount? I would rather die!" Vladimir declared righteously.
He was internally shocked. This person knew about the Blood Oath. How many people in the entire Pollution Zone knew about it?
"Since you're so stubborn, forget it."
"You wanted to drink my blood, and I severed your wing. We're even."
"From now on, we go our separate ways."
After speaking, Xu Jingzhe turned and walked away, silently counting numbers in his heart.
"One."
"Two."
Before he could count to three, Vladimir called out to Xu Jingzhe and said, "Can I trade you something else for it? That item can be exchanged for a lot of pollution cores, and the great families in the Chemical Zone all want it."
Xu Jingzhe stopped walking, overjoyed inwardly. Wasn't pollution core exactly what he lacked?
"What?"
However, he maintained a poker face to hide his internal excitement.
"The wolf king's bone, dating from a thousand years ago. If you take it to the Chemical Zone for auction, it will make them fight fiercely over it," Vladimir said listlessly.
This was a precious treasure passed down through his family for generations.
It was precisely this wolf king's bone that proved he was the noble and elegant Duke Vladimir.
"What is that thing used for? Why do the great families of the Chemical Zone fight tooth and nail to get it?" Xu Jingzhe asked.
Vladimir stumbled closer. Xu Jingzhe was full of vigilance, his right hand still holding the dagger, the tip pointed directly at the root bone of the wing.
If he plunged the dagger along the bone and crushed the nerves and Vampire single chain inside, then even if Vladimir retrieved the wing, it would be useless.
"The Power of the Werewolf!"
"If the great families acquire the wolf king's bone and extract the active cells and the lycanthropy parvovirus inside, they can cultivate very powerful Werewolf Warriors."
"Werewolves are naturally fierce, fast, immensely strong, and possess powerful regenerative abilities. They are truly perfect killing machines!"
Xu Jingzhe asked the System in his mind, and the System gave an affirmative reply.
Ordinary Werewolf bones do not have this effect; even if the components were extracted, the resulting Werewolf Warriors would be mediocre and uncontrollable. That is why the great families are desperately searching for the wolf king's bone.
If a thousand-year-old wolf king's bone truly appeared in the Chemical Zone, the great families would undoubtedly go mad for it.
The starting bid alone would have to be dozens of thirty-year pollution cores.
Werewolf Warriors hold immense strategic value.
"In that case, take me there."
"I warn you, don't try any tricks!" Xu Jingzhe said coldly.
Vladimir hunched his head, feeling ten thousand 'grass mud horses' galloping through his heart.
He just wanted to suck some blood and try to break through to the ninth circle...
