186: Ying Xiaomei's Secret

Wu Fan felt the warmth of Bai Yan's body, and soon, he fell asleep again.

When he woke up again, he found Bai Yan blinking her eyes, looking at him very affectionately.

Wu Fan cupped her small face and said gently, "You're awake? Did you sleep well?"

Bai Yan buried her head in Wu Fan's chest and said softly, "I slept exceptionally well, as if I haven't slept so soundly in a long time."

Wu Fan ran his fingers through her hair, "This is your home, isn't it?"

Bai Yan looked up, kissed Wu Fan's neck, and didn't reply.

The two of them embraced, somewhat reluctant to part.

"Dong... dong dong..."

A knock on the door sounded.

Wu Fan's eyebrow twitched, "What is it?"

"Dad, it's almost ten o'clock, the sun is already shining on your butt."

Wu Fan and Bai Yan exchanged a glance, "Got it, we'll get up right away, you go downstairs first."

"Dad, hurry up!"

"Okay, got it."

Wu Fan heard the "thump thump thump" of footsteps going downstairs.

Wu Fan rolled over, pinning Bai Yan beneath him, and his kisses invaded without restraint.

Bai Yan's face was flushed with coquettishness, and her breathing instantly quickened.

A few minutes later, Wu Fan mischievously moved away, "Get up, we'll play again tonight."

Bai Yan gave him a beautiful glare, revealing a shy smile.

As soon as the two of them went downstairs, Mom asked, "What do you want for breakfast?"

Wu Fan casually said, "Whatever there is."

Mom smiled and asked Bai Yan, "How about dumplings? We have chive and egg filling and meat filling."

Bai Yan said, "Sounds good, I can eat anything."

After receiving Bai Yan's affirmation, Mom went to busy herself in the kitchen.

Xiao Ai was already preparing the dishes for lunch.

Early in the morning, she drove Wu Fan's car to the town and bought a lot of groceries.

Wu Fan and Bai Yan sat together on the living room sofa, watching cartoons with Yaoyao.

Soon, Mom brought over dumplings and pumpkin pancakes.

"These pumpkin pancakes are also homemade, Bai Yan, have a taste."

Bai Yan said, "Okay, thank you, Auntie."

Mom laughed heartily, "Why be polite among family?"

She wiped her hands on her apron and brought out warmed pure milk, one can for each person.

Bai Yan's heart warmed, and her eyes moistened; it was so thoughtful.

It was the first time she felt the importance of being valued by family, and she was very touched.

After breakfast, Wu Fan asked Bai Yan, "Want to go for a walk in the village together?"

Bai Yan was shy and afraid of people asking too many questions, so she waved her hand and said, "No, it would be awkward."

"I'll just stay home and keep Yaoyao company, okay?"

Wu Fan understood her thoughts and didn't press her further.

After he left, he first went to Wu Danyan's house across the street. But the door was tightly locked, and no one was home.

Wu Fan took out a cigarette, lit it, and walked leisurely.

There were almost no young people in the village; they had all gone out to work. It was still early, and they hadn't returned for the New Year yet.

Walking on the village road, he didn't see many people.

At a corner, he ran into Third Uncle Wu Taiheng.

He was his father's cousin and currently lived alone.

He had also been married and had a son.

However, many years ago, when he went to the small town to buy things, he accidentally lost his son.

Many years had passed, and he had never given up searching, but he had found nothing.

His son, Wu Zong, was a few years younger than Wu Fan and had just learned to walk when he was lost.

If he were still alive, he would be a young man by now.

Third Uncle's wife, due to her longing for her son, passed away two years ago.

When she passed away, she kept muttering, "Zong'er, where are you?"

"Zong'er, please come home quickly, okay?"

She died with her eyes open, filled with resentment. She hated human traffickers to death.

"Third Uncle, hello!"

Wu Taiheng had aged, and his hair was already gray.

Some people said that his hair had turned white overnight on the night his son was lost.

But Wu Fan was still young then and had no recollection of it.

"Oh, Wu Fan, you've come home for the New Year."

Wu Fan grunted, quickly offered him a cigarette, and lit it for him.

Wu Taiheng took a deep drag from his cigarette, narrowed his eyes, and said somewhat mournfully, "If Wu Zong were here, he'd be about your age."

"Alas..."

He let out a long sigh.

Wu Fan didn't know how to comfort him at that moment; it seemed that any words would be so pale and powerless.

"Third Uncle, have there been any new leads recently?"

Wu Taiheng shook his head in disappointment.

His DNA information had long been registered and entered into the public security system.

He often saw news reports of people finding their children through DNA matching.

He had always dreamed that this day would come.

He lived on, sustained by this faint hope.

"Third Uncle, why don't you come to my house for the New Year this year? Let's have a lively time together."

Wu Taiheng smiled forlornly, "Third Uncle is used to being alone, it doesn't matter."

"When you go out in the future, just help me inquire more about Wu Zong's situation."

After he finished speaking, he took out a slightly yellowed piece of paper from his pocket.

It had Wu Zong's specific information at the time of his disappearance, including his clothing, age, physical characteristics, etc.

Finally, it had his phone number.

Wu Fan took out his phone and took a picture of it.

"Third Uncle, please don't worry, I will definitely keep an eye out."

Wu Taiheng nodded in satisfaction, "That's good."

He turned and walked away alone.

No matter who he met, he always hoped they would help him look for his son. In his heart, his son was everything, his only thought.

Wu Fan looked at his thin back, sighing with emotion.

He lit another cigarette and unknowingly walked to the Village Committee Office Building.

The familiar old building hadn't changed much.

He hesitated for a moment, then pushed the door open and walked in.

The air conditioning inside was strong. Ying Xiaomei was diligently looking at the computer, seemingly busy with something.

She looked back and happily jumped up.

She ran over and threw herself into Wu Fan's arms. "You're back! Why didn't you tell me?"

Wu Fan squeezed her; she was still so soft.

"I just arrived yesterday, and this morning, didn't I come to see you?"

Ying Xiaomei's eyes lit up, and she stood on her tiptoes, kissing Wu Fan's lips, "Wu Fan, I really miss you."

Wu Fan looked at her coquettish manner, pulled her tighter, "Miss what about me?"

Ying Xiaomei blushed slightly and said in a soft, sweet voice, "I miss your fierceness."

After she finished speaking, she shyly chuckled, "Hehehe."

She felt that only when she was with Wu Fan was she a true woman, a happy woman.

She no longer allowed the Village Director to touch her.

She now hated the Village Director, who would molest her every three days.

She had always endured it in silence, only able to find various excuses to refuse.

Ever since she had been with Wu Fan once, she had sworn in her heart that she would never let Wu Hongwei succeed again.

She clearly remembered that her first time with Wu Hongwei was forced, out of necessity.

At that time, Wu Hongwei threatened her that if she didn't comply, he would make her lose her job and send her back to her hometown.

She was young then and inexperienced, so she was confusedly subjected to the unspoken rules.

Now, every time she thought about it, she gnashed her teeth in hatred.

She was waiting for the right moment, collecting evidence.

She wanted to strike a fatal blow and bring him down.

Her secret was filled withTolerate (endurance) and hatred...
