66: alluring man
Lin Daixi giggled softly.
The two kissed for about ten minutes, deeply passionate.
Just as Wu Fan was about to go further, Lin Daixi suddenly asked, "Brother Fan, did you really sleep with Fang Hanyu?"
Wu Fan froze, then lied, "What are you thinking? She and I were just exchanging pleasantries and joking around."
Lin Daixi, however, persisted, "I noticed a tenderness in the way Fang Hanyu looks at you. She definitely has feelings for you."
"Don't overthink it."
... That night, when Wu Fan walked into the One Foot Sea Bar, he was stunned by the man performing on stage.
He had shoulder-length hair, wore a red T-shirt on top, a black skirt below, and black leather shoes, singing "When Love Has Passed" into the microphone.
Wu Fan initially thought it was a woman; the voice was very delicate, but upon closer inspection, he saw an Adam's apple. It was clearly a man.
Could it be a ladyboy? It wasn't impossible for a bar to take an unconventional approach to attract customers.
However, given Fei Wei's capabilities, he probably couldn't afford to hire a famous ladyboy.
Could it be a transsexual?
But there were only a few well-known transsexuals in the country, and the person on stage clearly wasn't one of them.
Wu Fan became quite curious.
Beside him, Grass Chicken was full of energy, hitting the drum kit with great effort.
Wu Fan had never seen Grass Chicken so excited and passionate.
Fei Wei saw Wu Fan and walked over, asking, "When did you get back from your hometown?"
After Wu Fan sat down in their usual spot, he offered Fei Wei a cigarette, lit one for himself, and then said, "I came back yesterday. Who is this guy on stage? He sings quite well, but he's a bit odd; I thought he was a woman."
Fei Wei put his arm around Wu Fan's shoulder and whispered, "He's Grass Chicken's good friend. You can treat him like a woman."
After he finished speaking, he gave a wicked smile.
Wu Fan paused, then immediately understood.
He looked up again and still didn't think he looked like a man; he really looked more like a ladyboy or a transsexual.
"How's business lately?" Wu Fan finally withdrew his gaze and asked casually.
Fei Wei sat down next to him, exhaled a puff of smoke, and said, "We're relying on Shan Xiaojie and Grass Chicken to hold the fort."
After he finished speaking, he glanced at the stage.
Wu Fan opened a can of beer for himself and asked, "How long has he been here? Where did he come from?"
Fei Wei said, "About a week. He came from Beijing."
Wu Fan was curious, "From so far away, how did he know about this place?"
Fei Wei leaned closer and said, "People like Grass Chicken have their own special ways of connecting. Anyway, Grass Chicken called him over. The two of them are so close now that they could share a bowl of feces."
Wu Fan had just taken a sip of beer, and hearing Fei Wei's words, he immediately spat it out. "Oh my god, I can't handle that analogy!"
Fei Wei, however, continued seriously, "The relationships these people have are sometimes very stable."
Wu Fan asked, "What about the tattooed guy Grass Chicken broke up with last time?"
Fei Wei said, "Who knows? I never pry into his private life. Everyone has the right to choose who they love and how they live, right?"
Wu Fan nodded, looking thoughtful.
The music stopped abruptly; the song had ended.
Shan Xiaojie bowed, then came down from the stage hand-in-hand with Grass Chicken.
Applause and cheers immediately erupted.
Modern customers are quite tolerant.
Fei Wei introduced Wu Fan and Shan Xiaojie.
Wu Fan reached out and shook his hand, considering it a greeting.
Wu Fan offered him a cigarette, but he waved his hand and said, "Thank you, I don't smoke."
His voice was so effeminate that it gave Wu Fan goosebumps.
Grass Chicken took Wu Fan's cigarette and put it in his mouth, but just as he was about to light it, Shan Xiaojie snatched it away. "Smoke less; it's bad for your health."
Grass Chicken smiled foolishly, like a man in love, not annoyed in the slightest.
Wu Fan watched, remaining silent.
During the subsequent casual chat, Wu Fan formed a rather good impression of Shan Xiaojie.
Although his movements and demeanor were very feminine, and his voice was quite camp, he wasn't repulsive; instead, he gave off a very gentle feeling.
His personality and temper were excellent, and he was very easy to get along with.
Wu Fan respected their orientation but couldn't accept it; he just found it strange.
Shan Xiaojie was planning to take Grass Chicken to Beijing in a few days, calling it a honeymoon trip.
Wu Fan looked at Grass Chicken and joked, "Be careful, don't let Shan Xiaojie sell you off."
Grass Chicken gave Shan Xiaojie a deep, affectionate look and laughed heartily, "If he sells me, I'll be happy to go."
Hearing that, Wu Fan got goosebumps again.
Fei Wei said with an anxious expression, "Wu Fan, did you find the female singer you promised to get for the residency last time?"
He took a puff of smoke and continued, "If Shan Xiaojie and Grass Chicken leave, the bar business will definitely plummet. Customers nowadays are very picky, and they won't pay if there's no performance on stage."
Grass Chicken said, "I'll probably only be gone for about half a month. Look how panicked you are."
Fei Wei flattered, "Shan Xiaojie is the pillar of the bar now; many customers come specifically for him."
Shan Xiaojie just smiled without speaking. He held the teacup with his little finger raised, taking small sips of tea.
Wu Fan felt an urge to laugh, suddenly reminded of the old palace eunuchs in TV dramas.
Fei Wei patted Wu Fan's shoulder, "I'm talking to you. Have you found a singer for me yet?"
Wu Fan smiled and said, "It's a simple matter, why are you rushing? As soon as Grass Chicken and the others leave, the beautiful female singer will arrive."
Fei Wei looked at Wu Fan, "Really? Don't string me along."
Wu Fan took a drag from his cigarette, "Wasn't Liu Tingting good enough last time?"
Fei Wei nodded repeatedly, "Excellent, excellent. You're not calling her again, are you?"
Wu Fan said mysteriously, "I'll get you a new one, a particularly sexy one. How about that?"
Fei Wei laughed, "Keep your promise, I'm looking forward to it."
Some customers started shouting, "Boss, start singing!"
Hearing this, Fei Wei pulled Grass Chicken and Shan Xiaojie onto the stage.
After a brief whispered discussion, the three began singing the F.I.R.'s classic old song, "Our Love."
Shan Xiaojie was the lead singer. His voice was indeed pleasant, and when he hit the high notes, he could completely rival the original singer.
Wu Fan was listening intently when Zhang Yingying suddenly appeared.
She patted Wu Fan's shoulder and said, "Brother Fan, you're living a comfortable life."
Wu Fan looked at her in surprise, "What's up? Did you break up again?"
Zhang Yingying rolled her eyes and said, "What kind of logic is that? Can't I come if I haven't broken up?"
Wu Fan brought up the past again, "I actually hope you break up. I might be able to benefit from the situation again, ha."
Zhang Yingying blushed, sat down next to him, and said, "Get lost. Dream on."
Wu Fan leaned closer and said, "You were intoxicating that night."
Zhang Yingying hit Wu Fan heavily on the chest, "You are not allowed to mention that night again."
Wu Fan looked at her flushed face and just chuckled.
He pulled out a cigarette, handed it to her, and said, "Little Sister Zhang, I won't mention it again next time, okay?"
Zhang Yingying took the cigarette and put it in her mouth. Wu Fan quickly pulled out his lighter and lit it for her in a flattering manner.
She exhaled a puff of smoke, finally showing a slight smile on her face. "That's better. You should at least respect women, you know?"
Wu Fan couldn't help but laugh, "What? Respect women? Where did that come from?"
Zhang Yingying said, "Go figure it out yourself."
Wu Fan chuckled and took a sip of beer.
A young couple walked through the entrance. They were affectionately holding each other around the waist and walked straight to a corner on the left to sit down.
After seeing them, Wu Fan nudged Zhang Yingying and said, "Look quickly, a perfect match has arrived."
Zhang Yingying took a drag from her cigarette, then turned her head to look, her face instantly stiffening.
She immediately threw away the cigarette in her hand, stood up, and angrily rushed over...
