42: Kiss in the Haunted House

"Liu Tingting, have you had dinner yet?"

"I was just planning to grab a quick bite at the hotel."

"That won't do. I'll take you out to eat. The hotel food isn't very good."

Liu Tingting thought for a moment and said, "Alright, I'll see you in the hotel lobby later."

Wu Fan said, "I'll be there in about ten minutes."

Liu Tingting hummed in acknowledgement and hung up the phone.

She went to the bathroom to reapply some light makeup, fixed her hair, and prepared to head to the first-floor lobby.

She thought Wu Fan was a decent person, but she had a natural repulsion and dislike for men; simply put, she didn't like men.

She was a lesbian.

She had a beloved wife, who was also especially beautiful and gentle.

Ever since Wu Fan started sending her gifts in her live stream, she had wanted to meet him. Her goal was to get married, to marry a rich man.

She was only marrying due to family pressure, to cover up the fact that she was a lesbian.

However, her internal rejection of men made it difficult for her to get close to any man.

But she genuinely didn't dislike Wu Fan that much; she felt like he was somewhat acceptable.

She sighed and muttered to herself, "Could I possibly change my sexual orientation because of Wu Fan?"

As she stepped out of the elevator, she saw Wu Fan sitting alone in a corner of the lobby playing on his phone. When he saw her, he immediately stood up, waved, and smiled broadly.

He took a few steps forward and said, "Miss Liu, you look especially beautiful today."

Liu Tingting pouted slightly, "Does that mean I wasn't beautiful yesterday?"

Wu Fan laughed heartily, "You get more beautiful every day, understand?"

Liu Tingting couldn't help but chuckle, "If you put it that way, I must be getting younger the longer I live."

Wu Fan said seriously, "As long as you live here, you might even achieve eternal life."

Liu Tingting pretended to be surprised, "Why? I certainly don't want to become an old immortal, ha."

Wu Fan said, "This place is the legendary Penglai Immortal Island. If we happen to attain enlightenment and become immortals someday, wouldn't that mean eternal life?"

Liu Tingting giggled upon hearing that. "What are you planning to treat me to?"

Wu Fan gestured for them to walk while saying, "How about going for some street food?"

Liu Tingting asked, "What kind of street food?"

Wu Fan helped open the passenger door. "Seafood fried rice, seafood stir-fried noodles, seafood dumplings, grilled fish fillets, and more. Interested?"

Liu Tingting said happily, "That sounds pretty good."

Wu Fan took her to a street dedicated to seafood snacks, and the two of them ate very happily.

Liu Tingting praised it, saying, "This is countless times better than eating at a regular restaurant."

After they finished eating, Wu Fan said, "It's still too early for the bar. Shall I take you somewhere else to have fun?"

Liu Tingting asked, "Where?"

Wu Fan said mysteriously, "Do you dare to go?"

Liu Tingting paused and said, "There's nowhere under heaven I wouldn't dare to go."

Wu Fan said, "You can't back out when we get there."

"Absolutely not," Liu Tingting stated firmly.

Wu Fan smiled, "That's good then."

He took Liu Tingting to the night market.

There was a newly opened, massive haunted house there, rumored to be terrifyingly scary.

It was Wu Fan's first time going too.

He thought about taking Liu Tingting because he had heard that women who were hard to approach were easiest to get close to inside a haunted house.

Perhaps Liu Tingting would be so scared she would hide in his arms.

After Wu Fan bought the tickets, he said cheerfully, "What's wrong? Are you scared to go in? Where are those brave words from earlier?"

Liu Tingting looked at the terrifying murals at the entrance of the haunted house and did, indeed, hesitate slightly.

Nevertheless, she vowed confidently, "It's all fake, I'm not scared."

Wu Fan said, "Since you're not scared, you go first, and I'll follow behind you."

Liu Tingting bit her lip. "Okay."

She then stepped inside.

"Ah..."

She had only taken a few steps before she screamed.

She retreated a few steps, leaning against Wu Fan.

Wu Fan glanced up and saw two corpses lying stiffly on the ground, covered with white sheets, with white candles lit beside them, all under a gloomy green light.

Wu Fan smiled and said, "These are just welcoming us at the entrance. What's there to be afraid of?"

Liu Tingting's breathing was noticeably heavy, but she insisted stubbornly, "I'm not scared, I was just startled because I wasn't mentally prepared to suddenly see that."

Wu Fan teased her, "This is just the beginning. It shows that the theme of this haunted house is related to the dead. It's going to get very scary later."

Liu Tingting proactively grabbed Wu Fan's hand and said, "I have to hold onto you, just in case you get scared and run away."

Hearing that, Wu Fan almost died laughing internally. What she said wasn't wrong.

The two continued forward, and suddenly, a chilling and terrifying sound echoed through the haunted house.

Liu Tingting stopped, looking around alertly. "Is a monster about to come out?"

Wu Fan squeezed her hand and said, "Don't be afraid, Brother Monkey is here."

Liu Tingting looked back at Wu Fan, but couldn't see him clearly; it was too dark.

She could only move closer to Wu Fan.

"Ah..."

Liu Tingting suddenly shrieked, turned, and threw herself into Wu Fan's arms, hugging him tightly without moving.

Wu Fan could feel her warm breath repeatedly fanning against his neck.

His blood pressure actually started to rise.

He quickly diverted his attention, looking up. It turned out that around the corner, a skull was suspended, dangling and emitting green light from its eyes.

"Liu Tingting, should we keep going?"

Leaning against Wu Fan's chest, she said fearfully, "You walk in front."

Wu Fan patted her back and said, "What are you scared of? I'm covering the rear, so I can keep an eye on you."

Only then did Liu Tingting slowly continue forward, turning a corner. "Ah, the coffin is moving!"

She shrieked.

A suspended coffin was moving.

Suddenly, a person with disheveled hair and a hideous face abruptly sat up inside the coffin.

Liu Tingting was so terrified she nearly cried.

She desperately clung to Wu Fan, not daring to look again, her entire body trembling slightly.

Wu Fan found it somewhat amusing.

Women, in the end, talk tough but have small guts.

He leaned in, whispering softly next to her ear, "Don't be afraid, I've got you."

Wu Fan's lips were practically brushing her earlobe.

Liu Tingting hugged him even tighter, looking up to say, "Wu Fan, let's not go any further. Can we go back the way we came?"

Wu Fan placed one hand under her buttocks and lifted her into his arms.

He looked down at Liu Tingting's face, which, in the dim light, looked so delicate and appealing.

"Don't be scared, I'll carry you."

Liu Tingting's breathing suddenly became rapid, and waves of warm air carried a subtle fragrance.

Wu Fan couldn't help but lower his head and kiss her.

Liu Tingting cried out in surprise, "Ah, no!"

She turned her face away, resisting instinctively. Yet, her body was honest, holding him even tighter...
