He checked twice more, even lifting the flush valve inside the toilet tank to look, but it still wasn't there!
There was nothing stuck to the ceramic lid, and there was nothing around the ceramic tank either.

He searched for another two minutes, until the water in the tank had risen again, but he still found nothing.
