154: Visit the jade market and check the prices!

Chen Kai went out, rode his little electric donkey, and headed straight to the nearby Jade Market.

According to the intelligence, today was the day Jade started to rise in price.

However, according to market trends, the first day of a price increase usually doesn't generate much of a reaction.

It might have only gone up a little bit, and people hadn't realized yet that Jade couldn't be smuggled into the country recently.

After three days, the Jade merchants should finally start to panic.

Only then would they start buying at a premium, but the price wouldn't have risen much; the Jade Market had been in a slump for so long, it was impossible for prices to jump up all at once.

By the fourth day of the shortage, the Little foreigners in the country would still be unable to get Jade Rough Stone from Myanmar, and that was when everyone else would truly panic and definitely start trading at a premium.

In other words... the window for him to actually sell his four pieces of Jade Rough Stone would be between the fourth and sixth day.

If he went to sell on the seventh day, it would be too tight.

He still needed to negotiate back and forth with the buyers; if he went too late, those Little foreigners might have already called their Jade gardens directly.

With Jade from the outside unable to get in, the Little foreigners would definitely be panicking, and after smuggling it over from Myanmar, they would surely report to these buyers immediately.

By the seventh day, a batch of the first Jade Rough Stone to enter the country would definitely have flooded the market, and prices would surely plummet.

These buyers would also know in their hearts that imports might be resuming, so there was no need to spend extra money for just one day; it wouldn't be worth it.

As Chen Kai thought this over, he was almost riding his Electric Scooter to the entrance of the Jade Rough Stone wholesale market on Jade Street.

He parked his vehicle at the entrance of the Jade Market and got off to look into the market.

At first glance, it looked no different from any ordinary market, except that the things being sold at the stalls had been replaced with rocks.

Many people were shouting in front of stalls, bargaining, or making phone calls.

There were also people selling Jade offcuts, like scraps left over after cutting bracelets that could only be turned into beads.

Chen Kai nodded silently and walked toward a small vendor specializing in Jade Rough Stone from the Old Pakan mine.

Standing in front of the stall, Chen Kai examined the Jade Rough Stone on it; the quality was just so-so.

The ratio of Windowing to unopened stones that relied purely on gambling was 50/50.

"Hey! Young man, these are genuine rocks from the Old Pakan mine. Want to try your luck?"

Chen Kai was called out like this and immediately curled his lips into a smile.

Among the pile of stones on the stall, he found one with a similar quality to the ones he was selling.

"What's the honest price for this? Don't quote me twenty or thirty thousand; don't try to scam me like some Little foreigner. Your cost price for this thing is only about seventy or eighty thousand."

Chen Kai asked, his lips curled in a faint smile.

The stall owner immediately stood up, his face showing an expression of disbelief.

"Oh, look at the quality of this stone, the transparency of the flesh—there's no cotton inside!"

"And look at this color, oh my god, it's just too beautiful! A sparkling pink!"

"If you take it and cut it open, you might just find the next Zhaoyi Star! That's 180 million; how is my 200,000 or 300,000 expensive? This is just a stepping stone for you to find that 180 million worth of treasure."

Chen Kai twitched his lips; this guy was quite a character for painting such a big picture.

Trying to gamble 200,000 for 100 million—if there were such a good deal, why didn't he cut it himself?

"Oh, is it that valuable?"

"Of course it is! This is high-quality Jade!"

"Then why don't you use this 200,000 cost to gamble on a Zhaoyi Star? That's 100 million, enough for you to sell Jade for a lifetime, right?"

Chen Kai asked with a smile, his lips curled.

The stall owner was suddenly full of embarrassment and could only use an awkward laugh to ease the tension.

"Haha... I'm a kind-hearted person, not greedy. I'm content with what I have. I'll just leave the opportunity to get rich to you guys."

"You're quite conscientious, then."

Chen Kai chuckled and picked up the Jade Rough Stone to take a look.

The reason he judged the cost price to be only seventy or eighty thousand was that the pinkness and the seed/water quality of this Jade weren't as good as the one he bought for 100,000.

Jade without good seed/water quality doesn't have that jewel-like luster when made into a finished product.

It looks dull and dark; even after polishing, it remains dull. This kind of Jade without good seed/water quality is definitely a grade cheaper than Jade with good quality.

"What's the bottom price? It has no seed/water quality, it won't be worth much when cut, and the shape is bad—you can't even cut a bracelet out of it."

Chen Kai asked calmly. The most valuable Jade accessory is the bracelet; everything is judged by whether a bracelet can be made. If the shape is bad, it can only be cut into small, scattered pendants, which aren't worth much.

"Hiss!"

The stall owner gasped; he couldn't tell, but this young man was actually an expert.

"Bottom price is 120,000. Since you're an expert, you know how scarce Old Pakan material is right now."

"Those Little foreigners running the routes can't transport any Jade Rough Stone at all. It seems something happened on their end, and there are absolutely no new stones coming in."

"These are all old stocks from the bottom of the box; who knows when new stones will arrive."

Chen Kai immediately put on a look of disdain. "I'll keep looking."

The stall owner shook his head immediately; these were all old tricks for bargaining in the Jade trade.

"It'll be the same price when you come back! For Old Pakan material of this seed/water quality, 120,000 is already a scarce item."

Hearing this, Chen Kai had a good idea of the situation.

He came to the Jade Market just to check the market conditions.

It seemed the market was pretty good. Comparing this stone to the one he bought for 100,000, his stone could probably sell for 130,000 to 140,000 now.

Not bad. In a couple of days, the Jade Market would definitely fall into a brief frenzy.

He would just come back to sell it then.

Chen Kai curled his lips, and after visiting a few more stalls to ask for prices, he got such a satisfactory answer.

He simply rode his Electric Scooter straight back to his Rental House and waited quietly for today's intelligence to refresh.

As soon as he returned to the Rental House, a message from Tang Yunshu came through.

"Tang Yunshu: Oh wow~~ It's already risen to 1,350 a share. Are you planning to hold it long-term, brother? After all, it's so stable."

Chen Kai curled his lips. Stable? That's all just for the Retail Investors to see.

"No, don't prepare to hold long-term either. Just sell it off with me."

"Tang Yunshu: Okay~~ Then I'll wait to sell it off with you, brother."

"But the old masters in the industry have already started holding again, buying in at the 1,200 mark. I estimate they're going to suffer heavy losses again."

"They'll probably lose, yes. Of course, that's just from my perspective."

"Hehe~ Your vision is much better than those so-called industry big shots! I even suspect their titles as financial experts were bought with money."

Chen Kai smiled, replied with an emoji, and waited quietly for today's intelligence to refresh.
