343: One egg!

At this moment, the news of the Great Emperors Tomb's emergence spread like a wildfire, instantly sweeping across the entire Xuanhuang Great World!

The Eastern Region, Central Region, Southern Region, Northern Region, Western Region...

The five regions trembled!

Forces, large and small, like sharks smelling blood, swarmed toward Huangzhou from all directions.

On Zizhu Peak, Gu Changge was sitting casually on a stone stool, his brows slightly furrowed, weighing something in his hand back and forth.

It was an egg!

An egg about the size of a fist, grey all over.

The eggshell was warm and smooth, yet cool to the touch. Other than that, there was nothing miraculous about it.

There was no flowing Dao Rhyme, no hidden divine light, no imprinted runes, not even a trace of Spiritual Qi fluctuation.

Yet, strangely, Gu Changge had tried every method, but couldn't see through this thing at all.

He recalled the familiar System notification that had sounded in his mind early this morning:

"Congratulations to the Host for successfully signing in, you have received an egg."

And then, that was it.

Just that one sentence, without even a note; it was so clean and efficient it was outrageous.

This egg had just appeared in his hand out of thin air.

Gu Changge had been speechless at the time.

He had signed in countless times and obtained countless treasures, divine objects, Cultivation Techniques, and Legacies.

But a reward like an egg was truly the first time in history.

"System, explain?" he asked in his heart.

"Ding! This item is an egg. Please explore its specific information yourself, Host."

The System's response was as cold, mechanical, and devoid of information as ever.

Upon hearing this, Gu Changge almost couldn't catch his breath.

"I! Already! Know! This! Is! An! Egg!?!"

Even with his calm state of mind, he couldn't help but roar internally at this moment.

He looked down at the thing in his hand that looked so ordinary, yet he couldn't see through it no matter what, and veins faintly pulsed on his forehead.

Muttering under his breath, Gu Changge took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.

He released a bit of Spiritual Qi from his fingers, but the pure and vast Spiritual Qi was like a mud ox entering the sea, pouring into the egg without causing a single ripple.

He extended his Divine Thought, but it was like entering the Void Realm; he could sense no life force, nor could he penetrate the seemingly fragile eggshell.

He even dripped a drop of Origin essence blood containing Dao rules onto it, but the blood bead just rolled off, leaving the eggshell as clean as before, without even a mark.

"Interesting."

Gu Changge became interested and used several secret techniques to probe the Origin and trace the Karma.

The result remained the same; this egg was simply a perfect... egg!!!

It isolated all probes; it had Invulnerability to All Laws.

After studying it for a long time without any clues, Gu Changge's patience gradually wore thin.

With his current Realm and vision, there weren't many things he couldn't see through completely.

This damn egg counted as one.

"Damn it..." Gu Changge couldn't help but curse softly.

His gaze sharpened, and with a "poof," a flame that looked weak but contained the power to burn the heavens and boil the seas ignited in his palm.

"Since you're so weird, I don't believe this; if I roast and eat you, that should work, right?"

The wisp of Emperor flame drifted lightly toward the egg on the stone table.

The moment the flame touched the eggshell, there was no expected sizzling sound, nor was there any burnt smell.

The Chaos Emperor flame, capable of burning everything, acted as if it had met its nemesis, or as if it had been thrown into a bottomless abyss; with a soft "shh" sound, it extinguished.

It didn't even produce a wisp of smoke, simply vanishing into nothingness.

The egg remained as clean as new, not even a fraction of a degree warmer.

Gu Changge: "..."

He stared at the egg, silent for a full three seconds.

Even the Chaos Emperor flame couldn't burn it?

What the hell kind of thing is this?

He put away the flame, took the egg back into his hand, and stroked the smooth eggshell.

Forget it, forget it!

Since it's so hard, it might be good for cracking walnuts!

Gu Changge temporarily suppressed his urge to investigate and casually put away this egg that looked strange no matter how he looked at it.

He stood up and cast his gaze toward the eastern horizon.

That was where the Great Emperors Tomb was located. Even from an infinitely far distance, that vast, ancient Emperor Might, which seemed capable of crushing eternity, still transmitted faintly, stirring the winds and clouds of the world.

His gaze shifted slightly, looking toward a desolate mountain closer to the direction of the Emperors Tomb.

Within his line of sight, he saw a disheveled, swearing old man dragging a half-dead young man, sneaking into a cave.

It was exactly the Third Old Ancestor and Xue Wuhen.

"Pah! Pah, pah, pah! What kind of hellish place is this? It's so unlucky!"

The Third Old Ancestor grumbled while setting up a few crude hiding Formations, looking at his tattered robe with heartache.

He had just thrown Xue Wuhen into a corner like a sack of potatoes, preparing to stabilize himself first and observe the situation.

Just then—

A palm landed silently on his shoulder.

"Ghost!!!"

The Third Old Ancestor was so scared that his hair stood on end. Without thinking, he grabbed the Xue Wuhen he had just thrown down and smashed him violently behind him!

"Ouch!"

A pained cry rang out, and the Second Ancestor was seen clutching his chest, hurriedly catching the flying humanoid weapon.

"Third! Have you gone crazy! It's me!"

The Third Old Ancestor looked closely, let out a long sigh of relief, and patted his chest in lingering fear: "Second!? You damn guy, you scared me to death!

How are you like a ghost, without making a sound!"

"I should be the one asking you that!"

The Second Ancestor threw the unconscious Xue Wuhen back to the ground, glaring at him.

"You disappeared, and we looked everywhere!

If it weren't for Changge's brilliant calculations, deducing that you had entered the Great Emperors Tomb, who knows how worried everyone would be?

You really, digging a hole to bury someone, can you even dig your way into the Emperors Tomb?"

The Third Old Ancestor's old face flushed, and he stiffened his neck: "How would I know this damn place is so weird!

By the way, are Xiao Ruobai and Hanyu alright? Did that Glazed Holy Land cause any more trouble?"

As soon as he finished speaking, the figure of the Fourth Ancestor appeared at the cave entrance like a ghost, softly adding: "Glazed Holy Land?

Have you been in this tomb so long you've gone senile? That's ancient history."

The Third Old Ancestor was stunned: "Ancient history? What do you mean?"

The Fourth Ancestor used the flattest tone to drop a bombshell: "Glazed Holy Land is gone."

"Gone?!"

The Third Old Ancestor's eyes almost popped out.

"What do you mean gone? How can it be gone?!"

"Exactly what I said. It was wiped from the world by someone, uprooted completely. Now there's just a pile of ruins left."

At this moment, Xue Wuhen in the corner slowly regained consciousness, just in time to hear the words "Glazed Holy Land is gone" clearly.

He opened his eyes groggily, somewhat dazed, then froze for a moment, revealing a bitter smile.

"I must still be dreaming," he muttered to himself, "Glazed Holy Land has existed since ancient times, suppressed by Emperor weapons, guarded by Great Saint Old Ancestors, and even has Emperor-level Formations. How could it be destroyed..."

"It must be that I was beaten too hard by that old monster and am hallucinating."

He shook his head, closed his eyes, and prepared to continue being unconscious.

"Slap!"

A crisp "slap" suddenly landed on his head.

"You don't need to worry about this right now, just keep sleeping!"

The Third Old Ancestor's rough voice came, carrying a bit of impatience.

Xue Wuhen's last shred of conscious awareness, carrying a sense of absurdity and the question of how this dream could even have a sense of touch, sank back into that boundless darkness.
