537: Canglan World

"All phenomena return to silence, Karma turns to dust!"

A mysterious Dao Rhyme, transcending the understanding of everyone present, began to permeate the air.

In an instant, it enveloped all timelines and Karmic lines of the past, present, and future in this region.

All traces were erased, and all related trajectories of fate were completely muddled, broken up, and overwritten.

And at the very moment that Immortal King level Void Devouring Beast noiselessly decomposed and returned to Chaos...

In the deepest reaches of the infinitely distant Chaos, a supreme will that had slumbered for unknown eons flickered slightly.

It was as if an invisible grain of dust had fallen into a pool of stagnant water that had been calm for billions of years.

"To think it died."

A grand, ancient, and cold voice, devoid of any emotion—as if Chaos itself were whispering—echoed in this absolute void.

This supreme will slowly opened its eyes and cast a gaze toward the place where the Devouring Beast had dissipated.

In that fleeting image, it saw a blurred white figure, humanoid in shape.

That was all.

No Origins, no Karma, no past or future, no power level—nothing at all.

The gaze attempted to delve deeper, but at the moment it was about to touch the truth, it seemed to strike a wall constructed of nothingness itself.

All traces, all auras, and all clues that might point to the truth were perfectly erased, confused, and replaced in an instant.

That grand and ancient will fluctuated; did it feel a hint of surprise?

After a moment of silence, the will slowly withdrew.

"To slay my slave... do you think it ends like this? Wait until I return..."

The whispers gradually faded, returning to eternal silence.

At that same instant, within the Chaos, atop the black Dragon's back.

Gu Changge's eyes narrowed, a cold light flashing within them.

"Something took a look?!"

He instantly understood that the Devouring Beast actually had an extremely obscure connection with some unimaginable ancient existence in the Chaos.

His act of obliterating it was like plucking a strand of spider silk connected to the abyss; though subtle, it was enough to let the being on the other side of the abyss sense it for a moment.

Fortunately, just now, after killing it, he had timely disrupted the Karma of this space-time.

"The depths of Chaos are indeed beyond full knowing.

Even killing an ant at random can pull out a wisp of abyssal aura. I must be three times more cautious in my future actions."

He felt a sense of vigilance in his heart.

Though he was strong, too many incredible things had been born in this boundless Chaos; there was no guarantee that some troublesome ancient things weren't slumbered here.

It would be best not to disturb them.

Atop the black Dragon's back.

Gu Changge sensed that the distant, cold, and indifferent gaze had completely vanished, and only then did he withdraw his focus.

"Revered Master, just now it seemed..."

Xiao Bai had the highest cultivation and the sharpest perception; she had vaguely sensed that indescribable moment of oppression.

"It's nothing, just a small incidental interlude."

Gu Changge's expression had already returned to calm.

"Continue forward. This Chaos is a bit more 'lively' than we imagined."

He looked into the profound darkness ahead, his gaze becoming increasingly deep.

It seemed the road to finding the Canglan World would not just be scenery.

Xiao Bai let out a low roar and, carrying everyone, accelerated toward the set direction, quickly disappearing into the chaotic mist.

Under Gu Changge's guidance, the black Dragon Xiao Bai sped toward that blurred position at full speed.

After an unknown amount of time, the gray mist ahead suddenly became thin.

A bright yellow halo, different from the deathly silence of the Chaos, faintly emerged at the end of their vision.

The light was not dazzling, but it carried a familiar rhythm that made Ling Xi's Soul tremble.

"It's it! Revered Master, it's the aura of the Canglan World!"

Ling Xi stood up abruptly, her voice trembling with excitement, her eyes instantly filling with tears.

That rhythm within the halo was her home, the place she dreamed of!

However, in the next moment, the excitement on Ling Xi's face suddenly froze.

The Canglan World, this Great World that was supposed to be gentle and peaceful, was now unrecognizable.

The world barrier was covered with spiderweb-like cracks and was dim and lusterless.

Outside the barrier, within the chaotic Void Realm, seven Immortals were gathered in a circle, activating a pitch-black Formation Plate.

The formation patterns flowed with an ominous, dark gray spiritual light, clinging to the barrier like a disease.

With every flash of spiritual light, a thick strand of Canglan Origin was extracted and funneled into the Formation Plate.

Ling Xi's eyes nearly split from rage, and her delicate body trembled with extreme fury.

A cold light flashed in Gu Changge's eyes as his Divine Sense penetrated the broken barrier, seeing the scene inside the world clearly.

With a light tap of his finger, the scene inside the Canglan World was manifested before everyone's eyes.

It was a tragic battlefield.

Broken Emperor Weapons were thrust diagonally into the burning earth, their spirituality completely lost, like the withered bones of giant beasts.

Not far away, several corpses of Quasi-Emperors dressed in Canglan attire lay in pools of blood, their bodies mangled and fragments of Emperor Weapons scattered everywhere.

They had clearly self-detonated during the great war, wanting to perish along with the enemy, but had only managed to inflict a few trivial wounds on their foes.

Upon the ruins, the remaining resistors were at the end of their ropes.

A white-haired Great Emperor, his imperial robes dyed dark red, held an ancient sword whose light was nearly extinguished and whose blade was covered in cracks. His figure staggered, yet he still stood firmly at the very front.

Every time he swung his sword, it was as heavy as a mountain, bringing forth not Emperor Might, but a resolute intent to die, sparked by the burning of his Origin.

Opposite him, four Void Immortals with cold auras and playful smiles—like cats playing with mice—were closing in, forming an encirclement.

Void Immortal, the upper limit of power this world could sustain!

The purpose of their descent was clear and cruel: to eliminate all insects that might hinder the external plundering.

Behind that Great Emperor, three Quasi-Emperors—likewise covered in blood and teetering—stood back-to-back, controlling battered ancient bells, pagodas, and giant cauldrons to desperately entangle a single Void Immortal.

The light of their battle formation flickered unsteadily, like a dying lamp in a rainstorm.

Every time they blocked an enemy's attack, the cracks on the Emperor Weapons spread further, and the controllers would cough up a mouthful of blood mixed with fragments of internal organs.

"One Great Emperor with a damaged Origin, three Quasi-Emperors whose lamps are running out of oil..."

Gu Changge judged the situation on the field in an instant.

"Revered Master!"

Ling Xi turned her head sharply, her eyes already bloodshot. It was the bone-deep pain of her home being destroyed and her compatriots being slaughtered.

She could no longer hold back. Her surrounding Heaven-Devouring Dao Rhyme surged, and she turned to look at Gu Changge, her eyes full of entreaty and resolution:

"This Disciple begs to enter the world first to save my clansmen!"

Gu Changge's gaze fell upon her. With a slight movement of his fingertip, a wisp of invisible Dao-protecting power enveloped Ling Xi:

"Go. Protect yourself. Leave these scumbags outside the world to me."

"Thank you, Revered Master!"

Ling Xi nodded heavily, tears sliding down her cheeks. Her figure flashed, turning into a streak of light that, aided by the Dao-protecting power, passed through the world barrier.

The next moment.

BOOM—!!!

In the Canglan World, upon that tragic battlefield, in the center of the scorched earth.

Space rippled violently like water, and a streak of light crashed down like a falling star!

The earth shook violently, and dust billowed into the sky, only to be frozen and dispersed in an instant by a piercingly cold chill.

Ling Xi knelt on one knee and slowly stood up.

Although Gu Changge's Dao-protecting power had restrained part of the Heaven-Devouring Dao Rhyme, her Quasi-Emperor pressure was still majestic, with pale gold Dao patterns flowing around her.

This sudden figure caused both sides of the death match to freeze, all eyes snapping to lock onto Ling Xi.

The three Quasi-Emperors' hearts trembled, their broken Emperor Weapons nearly slipping from their hands as a glimmer of hope surfaced in their eyes!

In their desperate situation, reinforcements had actually arrived!

But upon seeing the newcomer's cultivation, their expressions couldn't help but quickly dim again. A Quasi-Emperor's cultivation, after all, was difficult to change the tide of battle!

Meanwhile, the white-haired Great Emperor hurriedly swung his ancient sword to force back the Void Immortal in front of him. Staggering back, his eyes held a hint of shock:

A Quasi-Emperor? Who is this girl?

Her aura actually has a few traces of 'her' shadow?

But at this moment, the situation was urgent; there was no time for much thought!

The four Void Immortals' astonishment turned into disdainful killing intent in an instant. One of them swept a cold gaze over Ling Xi and let out a cruel laugh:

"Another one has come to die?"

He sneered, his voice sharp and ear-piercing.

"And it's a tender-skinned little Quasi-Emperor girl. Just right, this Immortal shall taste what the blood of a Lower Realm ant like you is like today!"
