386: Ancient Buddha Tremors

The three looked at each other, seeing extreme confusion in each other's eyes, yet their vigilance did not decrease in the slightest.

"Even so, we absolutely cannot be careless!"

The Second Ancestor said in a deep voice, his eyes flashing with the shrewdness of an old fox.

"If it really is a trap, relaxing now would be seeking death. If it truly is a windfall from heaven, you and I both understand the principle that possessing a treasure brings trouble!"

"Correct!" The Fourth Ancestor nodded.

"This object is too significant; we absolutely cannot return directly to the Sect! If someone senses it from afar with a secret technique, or if they placed a mark on us that even we can't detect, bringing it straight back to the Sect would be a catastrophic disaster!"

The three Old Ancestors quickly reached a consensus: caution, caution, and more caution!

First, they set up several Restrictions on the spot to confuse their auras and interfere with heavenly secrets. Then, the Second and Fourth Ancestors joined forces to cast a secret technique to change their appearances and mask their Origin auras, even disguising their Divine Soul fluctuations.

The Third Ancestor wrapped the small tower in several layers of insulating Materials, added dozens of sealing Restrictions, and only then carefully placed it into a most ordinary Storage Pouch.

Next, the three did not head straight back to the Azure Profound Sect. Instead, they took a massive detour, even intentionally flying toward the edge of the Supreme Mystery Holy Land's sphere of influence, which was in the opposite direction of the Azure Profound Sect.

Along the way, they changed their identities three times, sometimes posing as wandering Loose Cultivators and other times as traveling merchants.

They even found the most inconspicuous inn in a remote small city on the outskirts of the Supreme Mystery Holy Land and actually stayed for a night.

That night, not one of the three Holy Master realm Old Ancestors dared to close their eyes. They took turns keeping watch, releasing their Divine Sense, terrified that a peerless powerhouse would burst through the door the next second or that the Supreme Emperor Weapon would spontaneously erupt with a pillar of light piercing the sky.

Until dawn the next day, everything remained calm, and the small tower was as quiet as a dead object.

"It seems that maybe, perhaps, possibly, we really just got lucky?" the Third Ancestor muttered uncertainly.

"Even so, we must not let our guard down!"

The Second Ancestor remained serious. "On the way back to the Sect, we split up! Fourth, you take the northern route.

Third, you come with me on the southern route, but we must maintain a distance of a thousand miles. If anything happens, use a secret talisman to warn us, and the other must flee immediately—never look back!

Even if we lose this Supreme Emperor Weapon, we must never expose our connection to the Sect!"

"Understood!" The Third and Fourth Ancestors nodded solemnly.

Thus, like thieves, the three Old Ancestors began their journey back to the Azure Profound Sect in the most hidden and convoluted way possible, their hearts filled with complex emotions of excitement, trepidation, ecstasy, and vigilance.

Gu Changge's gaze fell upon the three sneaky old fellows who were acting as if they were facing a great enemy.

Watching them set up layer after layer of Restrictions, change their appearances, carefully wrap the tower like a rice dumpling, and finally decide to split up and take detours—even planning to run to the edge of the Supreme Mystery Holy Land to "lay low"... an almost speechless expression appeared on Gu Changge's face.

He whispered to himself, his voice carrying a hint of inexplicable helplessness:

"I say, is all this really necessary?"

"It's just giving you a handy Supreme Emperor Weapon, look how it's scared you."

"Didn't you used to always complain that the Sect's foundation was shallow and lacked a Supreme Emperor Weapon to hold down the fort?"

"Now that it's given, why does it seem like you've picked up a hot potato, becoming this paranoid?"

He shook his head, seemingly amused and exasperated by his Old Ancestors' overly "steady" reaction.

Fine, let them fuss. Being cautious isn't a bad thing after all.

He muttered to himself and was about to withdraw his gaze when his mind suddenly stirred, and he looked toward the far west.

There, the Western Regions, the land shrouded in Buddha's light.

In his perception, an obscure but majestic undercurrent was quietly surging deep within that land of faith.

Several powerful and ancient Buddhist auras had awakened from their slumber, carrying a hint of provoked majesty and cold calculation, peering toward the Eastern Region from afar.

The Western Regions, the core Secret Realm of the Mount Sumeru Ancient Monastery.

Several stone lotus platforms as massive as stars floated there, and the figures seated upon them were like statues weathered for eons, their auras decaying along with the Void Realm. These were the Ancient Buddhas of the Western Regions Buddhist Sect.

Every one of them had experienced ten thousand tribulations, and their cultivation had reached the Quasi-Emperor Realm!

At this moment, the eternal silence was completely shattered.

"Thud!"

The heavily injured Old Monk Ku Xuan fell into the center of the Void Realm.

"I beg the Ancient Buddha to seek justice for this Disciple!"

Ku Xuan looked up, his face a mixture of extreme malice and the lingering fear of having narrowly escaped death, his voice hoarse and broken.

He sobbed out the events at the core of the Emperors Tomb in fragments.

He deliberately omitted the details of his own initiative to plot against Xiao Ruobai, leading the focus to the key points:

"That Battle Asura and the Dao Protector behind him are arrogant and overbearing to the extreme! Not only did they murder the Buddha Son Fakong and Protector Liaoyin, but they also snatched our Buddhist treasures.

Following the Ancient Buddha's decree, this Disciple went to investigate, wishing to use the Buddha Dharma to convert them."

He panted, a look of grief and indignation squeezed onto his face.

"Who knew they would have no regard for the Buddhist Sect's face! Lingxiao Holy Land Master Ling Canglan and Holy Mistress Ji Qingyi of Jade Pool, for some unknown reason, were in cahoots with those villains.

They suddenly joined forces to attack this Disciple! This Disciple was outnumbered and nearly had his body and soul extinguished!"

The moment Ku Xuan's words fell, the dust of eons settled on the figure atop the most ancient lotus platform in the center of the Secret Realm began to rustle and fall.

A pair of eyes that seemed to contain endless Reincarnation and see through the birth and death of the Universe slowly opened.

He stared at Ku Xuan for a long time, as if confirming the truth of Ku Xuan's tale.

After a long while, on the lotus platform to the left, an Ancient Buddha with the most burly physique, around whom visions of a wrathful Vajra and mountains of corpses and seas of blood faintly drifted, suddenly opened his eyes!

In his eyes, billions of Buddhist kingdoms seemed to be at war and collapsing!

"Battle Asura! And that Dao Protector hiding his head and tail!"

His voice was like billions of thunderclaps exploding in the Void Realm, shaking Ku Xuan's Divine Soul to the point of nearly splitting.

"Killing our Buddha Son and destroying our Protector—this enmity must be answered with supreme Buddha Dharma. Their Divine Souls shall be extracted and eternally suppressed in the lowest level of Purgatory, suffering the torment of karmic fire and soul-devouring demons, never to be reborn for ten thousand tribulations!"

He was the Vajra Demon-Subduing Ancient Buddha, who presided over conquest and had the most violent temperament.

"Junior Brother Demon Subduing, be calm."

On the central lotus platform, the Ancient Buddha whose aura was the oldest and seemed to share the same lifespan as heaven and earth slowly spoke.

He was known as the Changsheng Ancient Buddha, one of the oldest existing beings in the Buddhist Sect.

"The revenge, of course, must be taken. But how to take it requires careful consideration. The Dao Protector behind that Battle Asura made the Glazed Holy Land vanish into thin air in the blink of an eye, and even a Supreme Emperor Weapon could not stop him.

Such methods are definitely not something an ordinary Quasi-Emperor could achieve. His background is mysterious and unpredictable."

"Is Senior Brother Longevity being too cautious?"

On the right lotus platform, an Ancient Buddha with a withered face and eyes that seemed to burn with the fire of wisdom spoke; he was the Ancient Buddha of Wisdom.

"The Glazed Holy Land was but a small corner; how can it compare to my Buddhist Sect? My Buddhist Sect has occupied the Western Regions for millions of years, our incense is flourishing, and our Power Of Faith is as vast as the sea.

The foundations left by the Buddhas of past generations—how can the Glazed Holy Land compare? Even if that Dao Protector is at the Peak of the Quasi-Emperor realm, does my Buddhist Sect not have the power to check him?

If we swallow our anger like this, where will the majesty of my Buddhist Sect remain?"

I looked at the gifts, and I owe another chapter!

Now I owe a total of two chapters, I'll make them up next week!
