744: Chapter 745 The Dao Seed is Obtained

The six of them restrained their auras and, under Dong Li's guidance, moved like shadows through the mountains, forests, and river valleys of the Secret Realm.

The phantoms of the sun, moon, and stars rotated slowly, marking the passage of time.

On the first day, they traveled tens of thousands of miles. During this time, they avoided three dangerous areas where energy was violent and terrifying creatures were suspected to reside.

They bypassed two large groups of people fiercely fighting over Heaven And Earth Treasures, and sensed several intense battle fluctuations and dying screams from afar.

Their harvest was also quite bountiful, yielding many Heaven And Earth Treasures. Fang Hanyu stood quietly for half an hour by a sword mark on a cliff, capturing a sliver of residual ancient Sword Intent, which resonated with his own Chaos Sword Dao.

However, the trace of the dao seed remained elusive. That pure aura of the Great Dao's Origin seemed to be everywhere, yet its exact source was difficult to pinpoint.

“The dao seed is connected to the source of the Secret Realm; it probably won't be that easy to find,” Ling Xi analyzed as night fell and they found a natural stone cave to rest.

Just then, a sharp bird cry and a violent energy explosion suddenly came from the distant sky! Following that were several shouts filled with pleasant surprise.

“There! It's the nest of a Wind-Winged Heavenly Peng!”

“There's light in the nest! It's a dao seed! At least two!”

“Quick! Don't let it get away!”

Xiao Ruobai and the other five exchanged glances, instantly restrained all their auras, and silently glided out of the stone cave, sneaking toward the direction of the fluctuations.

After crossing two mountain peaks, a steep cliff appeared ahead. On the cliff face, a massive nest built from golden withered wood was visible.

At the edge of the nest, a majestic Heavenly Peng with a wingspan of over ten zhang and feathers shimmering with green wind patterns was fighting fiercely with five Cultivators below.

That Heavenly Peng surprisingly possessed the strength of the Early Stage Immortal King Realm. A single flap of its wings sent out thousands of wind blades, incredibly sharp.

Those five Cultivators—three men and two women—were all at the Late Stage Immortal King Realm, with one at the Early Stage Immortal King Realm. They coordinated perfectly, fighting the Heavenly Peng to a standstill.

Deep within the nest, two clusters of soft light floated quietly. One was pale green with phantoms of wind whirlpools surrounding it, while the other was earthy yellow, emitting a heavy aura.

“Two dao seeds! Wind attribute and Earth attribute!” Little Fatty’s eyes lit up.

“Wait and see how things develop,” Xiao Ruobai signaled everyone to stay hidden.

The battle below the cliff had reached a fever pitch. Although the Heavenly Peng was ferocious, it gradually fell into a disadvantage against the siege of the five Prodigies. Wounds began to appear on its body, and it let out cries of angry sorrow.

“Push harder! It’s almost finished!”

“The dao seeds are ours!”

However, just as the Heavenly Peng was sent staggering back by an earthy yellow giant seal, and joy appeared on the five people's faces as they prepared to rush the nest—

“Ssh! Ssh! Ssh!”

Three pitch-black needles, so fast they left only afterimages, shot out without warning from the shadows on the side. They aimed straight for the backs of the two people responsible for command and core defense among the five Cultivators!

“Watch out for a sneak attack!”

One of the female Cultivators screamed. Her reaction was extremely fast as she summoned a jade shield to block behind her.

“Clang!” One black needle was blocked by the jade shield, but the shield was instantly corroded with a small hole, its spiritual light dimming.

The other two male Cultivators failed to fully dodge. One had his shoulder pierced, the wound instantly turning jet black as he let out a shrill scream.

The other was directly pierced through the protective immortal light near his heart. Although not killed instantly, he fell to the ground heavily injured, his aura withered.

The battle formation collapsed instantly!

“Who is it?!” The leading youth at the Early Stage Immortal King Realm was both shocked and furious, looking toward where the black needles had come from.

Three figures dressed in black robes and wearing eerie metal masks stepped out of the shadows like ghosts. Their auras were cold, and their cultivation levels were all at the Early Stage King Realm. They toyed with similar pitch-black needles in their hands.

“Bone-Corroding Demon Sect!” The injured male Cultivator gritted his teeth and spat out these four words, his eyes filled with hatred and fear.

“Not a slow reaction,” the leading Black-Robed Man said in a raspy voice.

“The dao seeds, and the soul of this feathered beast—we want them all. You can get lost now. Or, leave your lives behind.”

The youth looked at his heavily injured companions and then at the three menacing members of the Bone-Corroding Demon Sect. A flash of deep resentment crossed his eyes, but he eventually gritted his teeth and said, “We're leaving!”

“Humph, at least you're sensible.” The leader of the Bone-Corroding Demon Sect sneered, turning his gaze toward the Heavenly Peng. “First, deal with this beast, then take the dao...”

His words came to an abrupt halt because a clear, extremely condensed Sword Qi slashed down silently from above his head without any warning!

“What?!” The leader of the Bone-Corroding Demon Sect was scared out of his wits, pouring all his demonic power into his protective demonic light almost by instinct.

At the same time, three Bone-Corroding Demon Needles in his sleeve turned into streaks of black light and shot out, not seeking to wound the enemy, but only to provide a moment's obstruction.

“Clang! Clang! Puchi!”

Two crisp sounds of metal clashing were followed by a slight muffled sound, as if leather had been pierced. Two demon needles were easily flicked away by the Sword Qi, while the third was crushed by the Sword Qi's aftershock.

The gray Sword Qi only paused slightly before tearing through the hastily condensed protective demonic light, leaving a shallow bloodstain on his brow.

An ice-cold Sword Intent pierced into his brain, making him feel as if he had fallen into an ice cellar instantly. His Divine Soul throbbed with pain. With just one sword strike, his defense was broken, his spirit wounded, and his soul intimidated!

At almost the same moment the Sword Qi struck, two figures had already glided across the battlefield like ghosts—it was Dong Li and Ling Xi!

The two of them moved with extreme speed, and in an instant, they firmly grasped the Wind and Earth dao seeds in their hands without the slightest delay.

“The items are in hand, let's go!” Xiao Ruobai's calm voice echoed in everyone's minds.

The six figures did not linger for battle, turning into several streaks of light and retreating rapidly along their pre-planned escape route.

“Bastards! Put down the dao seeds!”

The leader of the Bone-Corroding Demon Sect barely recovered from the pain in his Divine Soul. Seeing the dao seeds stolen, his eyes nearly split with rage, and he roared as he prepared to give chase.

The other two demon Cultivators also reacted, their faces showing fierce looks. However, just as they took to the air and before they could even take a step—

“Qiang—!”

A clear and melodious, yet bone-chilling sword hum suddenly rang out.

A Sword Qi only about a zhang long, yet condensed and pure to the extreme, tore through space and silently lay across their path of pursuit.

Wherever the Sword Qi passed, the void ahead was neatly sliced open, leaving a sword mark that radiated a sharp aura and could not be mended for a long time.

This sword mark was not grand, yet it emitted a silent warning: those who cross this line shall die.

The three from the Bone-Corroding Demon Sect froze in place, their scalps tingling.

Blood beads seeped again from the mark on the leader's forehead. The cold Sword Intent made him clearly realize that if the opponent had wanted to kill him with that sword strike just now, he would be a dead man by now.

And this sword mark left so casually, with its pure and terrifying level of sword dao, was far beyond his understanding.

“So... such terrifying Sword Qi,” one demon Cultivator said in a dry voice, with an uncontrollable tremble.

The other looked at the sword mark that was slowly dissipating but seemed branded into his Divine Soul. His Adam's apple bobbed, and he dared not take another step forward.

The leader's expression shifted, eventually turning into a grimace of ashen gloom and horror. He stared fixedly in the direction where Battle Asura and the others had disappeared, burying this venomous resentment and fear deep in his heart.
