278: Soul Trap
His gaze once again locked onto the two figures clashing in the sky.
“Now...
“It's your turn.”
“The farce should end.”
With the complete demise of the Mother Queen's will, the three-way free-for-all personally orchestrated by Su Lei saw its balance collapse.
Above the firmament, Star Lord and the Gravekeeper, locked in fierce combat, had their movements freeze almost simultaneously.
They both sensed it: the coveted original code, which they were determined to obtain, had changed hands.
“You actually did it.”
For the first time, Star Lord's star-light-constructed face showed a human-like emotion: wariness.
He stared intently at the black mech in the distance, at the man who had never truly entered the fray from beginning to end, yet had played everyone like puppets. He admitted, he had underestimated this barbarian native from the start.
On the other side, the gray-robed Gravekeeper's aura became colder and more dangerous than ever before.
“Blasphemer!” His voice was like ice from a billion years ago: “You have fused the errors of two eras; this is the greatest trampling of the Universe's Law!
Immediately hand over all relics and return with me to the Court of Time for purification! Otherwise, I won't mind formatting this entire corrupted prison zone, including you!”
Behind him, the golden gate, purely constructed from the Law of order, reappeared. Inside, countless figures of judicator guards flickered in and out of sight. He intended to summon a legion, to judge Su Lei at all costs!
“Formatting?”
Su Lei sneered. “Old man, I'm tired of hearing that. If you have the ability, try it.”
The judicator slowly ascended, leveling with the two, and a more tense three-way standoff quietly formed.
“Governor Su Lei.” Star Lord's voice rang out again, no longer gentle, only solemn: “I admit your methods are brilliant, but you have simultaneously angered two existences that should not be provoked. How about this: you and I team up, first kill this old rigid fossil, and then fairly decide the code's ownership, how does that sound?”
He actually extended an invitation right in front of the Gravekeeper.
“Team up?” Su Lei shook his head as if he had heard a huge joke.
“I never team up with defeated opponents.”
Star Lord's face instantly turned ashen.
Su Lei didn't even bother to glance at him again, only adding three words.
“You, are not worthy.”
These three words were more hurtful than any Divine Ability, like a resounding slap, fiercely striking the face of this star sea overlord!
“You...!” Star Lord was furious; when had he ever suffered such humiliation!
However, Su Lei's gaze had already turned to the Gravekeeper who had fully opened the Gate of Order.
“Before we act, I have a question.”
“You Gravekeepers, who pride yourselves as maintainers of order, how much do you know about this Third Prison Zone?”
The Gravekeeper fell silent, seemingly not expecting him to ask this.
“The Third Prison Zone, the Forgotten Cage.” He finally spoke coldly: “It holds the most powerful and most insane prisoner of the last era, a taboo that even we cannot completely clear: Thousand Faces.”
“Thousand Faces?”
“A monster with no fixed form, capable of altering its own concept and stealing others' Laws.”
For the first time, a ripple appeared in the Gravekeeper's voice: “He was once the most outstanding scientist of the last era, attempting to fuse the Law-genes of a thousand civilizations to become a god. Ultimately, he failed and became a patchwork monster composed of a thousand contradictory wills, a pathetic thing whose very self was chaotic. The most core original code of the Eternal Furnace is in its hands.”
Upon hearing this, Su Lei actually nodded, looking as if he finally understood.
“Thank you for the clarification.”
His tone was sincere: “In return, I'll give you a gift.”
Before he finished speaking, the judicator suddenly retreated at high speed!
At his original position, an unstable spatial singularity, formed by the Fusion of technologies from two major prison zones, exploded with a bang!
A small, destructive Law storm instantly swept across the sky!
“You!”
Star Lord and the Gravekeeper simultaneously cried out in shock and anger, raising their shields to block the impact. They hadn't expected Su Lei to forcefully disengage from combat in this manner!
Su Lei had already transformed into a streak of light, rushing towards the Selection Gate leading to the Third Prison Zone without looking back!
Entangling with these two old monsters was meaningless; his true objective, from beginning to end, was only the last piece of code!
“Don't even think about escaping!”
The two broke free from the storm, transforming into two streaks of light in hot pursuit. Three meteors, one in front and two behind, streaked across the sky, successively plunging into the giant gate... The moment they passed through the spatial passage, Su Lei felt as if the judicator had been thrown into a high-speed washing machine.
The Third Prison Zone, the Forgotten Cage.
There was no sky, no ground, and even stable space was a luxury. As far as the eye could see, there were mirror-like shattered spatial fault lines, and eternally swirling chaotic storms!
Countless Laws violently collided, conflicted, and annihilated each other here. Blazing stars were born out of nowhere, only to be frozen to absolute zero the next second.
A forest had just been conjured, only to be instantly reduced to ashes by the power of decay.
This was the graveyard of Laws, a mad world where even the concepts of space-time were chaotic!
The judicator's alarm System shrieked, nearing disintegration, its hull constantly being stretched into noodles or compressed into singularities by the relentless onslaught of the chaotic storm.
Even Su Lei's Divine Soul shield was tottering before this sea of chaos.
Star Lord and the Gravekeeper, who followed closely, were equally disheveled.
Star Lord's astral form flickered erratically, almost collapsing.
The Gravekeeper was also forced to summon more chains of order to envelop himself in layers.
“This... is Thousand Faces's cage?” Star Lord's voice was filled with awe: “A forbidden zone that even we cannot easily enter!”
They were trapped. In this storm, they couldn't even locate each other, let alone pursue Su Lei.
Su Lei, who was supposed to be the target, made an unbelievable move.
He stopped at the entrance of the storm, quietly hovering.
He closed his eyes, and his Divine Soul power, like an invisible spider web, boldly enveloped the entire storm!
He was analyzing! Using the Divine-Grade computing power, fused with the crown of wisdom, and the technical data from the two major prison zones, he was reverse-analyzing this chaotic storm!
Time passed, the judicator was constantly destroyed and repaired at the edge of the storm, and its energy reserves rapidly depleted.
Su Lei, however, seemed oblivious, his mind completely immersed in the vast ocean of Laws.
Beneath the chaos, there must be a pattern!
Creation and destruction, order and chaos... they maintained this dynamic destruction under a higher-level balance. And between the ebb and flow of the tides, there existed an extremely brief period of slack tide, where the Laws were relatively stable.
That was the only way out!
“Found it.”
After an unknown amount of time, Su Lei slowly opened his eyes.
In his mind, an incredibly complex three-dimensional navigation chart had already formed.
“Not much time left.”
Su Lei's voice instantly reached the fleet behind him.
“Li Xue凝, Dean Li!”
“Here!” Their holographic images immediately appeared.
“The navigation path has been calculated; it can only be maintained for three minutes. I need an elite assault team to break through with me; the rest of the legions are to hold the entrance and guard against sneak attacks!”
