295: Rebellion of Judgment
The renegade Arbiter, on the other hand, was like an assassin who had vanished into the shadows, capable of launching a fatal blow at any moment.
Then there were Charon's three mysterious ruin hunters, like ghosts in a chess game, their whereabouts unpredictable.
“The situation has completely spiraled out of control.”
Li Xue凝 stood beside Su Lei; her Venerable-level perception could clearly capture the web-like killing intent spread throughout this world.
“We are now a thorn in everyone’s side.”
Su Lei calmly stated the facts.
The previous battle had made the Federal Fleet the strongest competitor, and also the highest priority target for elimination.
“Governor, Charon has sent new intelligence.”
A holographic image was projected into the air, with collapsing spatial ruins in the background, and the silver-haired Charon looked solemn.
“Governor Su Lei, our new friend, the renegade Gravekeeper commander, Arbiter, seems to have developed a strong interest in us, the survivors of time.”
“Just now, we were ambushed by a Purifier squad under his command and almost became material for their laboratory.”
Su Lei’s gaze narrowed: “What does he want from you?”
“Relics from the previous epoch, or rather, technology.”
Charon's answer confirmed Su Lei's guess: “Arbiter is very smart; he knows he is isolated and needs some power beyond the rules to break the deadlock.”
“We old fogeys are the best prey in his eyes.”
“He’s not just looking for you.”
Su Lei slowly began: “He’s also looking for Star Lord, for the Mother Queen, and even… for us.”
“He wants to integrate all the forces he doesn’t understand and turn them into his own weapons.”
Arbiter’s plan was to be the most ruthless hunter in this gladiator arena; he wanted to take everything.
In the holographic image, the ruin hunter Charon sneered, tossing and catching a brass coin between his fingers.
“He’ll play himself to death.”
“Whether it’s Star Lord or the Mother Queen, which one is a pushover willing to be subservient?”
“By jumping out like this, trying to be the fisherman, he’ll only become the first target to be focused on.”
“But before that.”
On the bridge of the flagship Ice Phoenix, Su Lei watched the virtual star map, his index finger tracing a line across it, connecting several coordinate points millions of kilometers apart: “He will be like an enraged venomous snake, thrashing wildly through the entire grass, biting anyone it catches.”
“The chaos he causes will bring us trouble, and may even disrupt all our deployments.”
“So.”
Su Lei raised his eyes and met Charon's gaze in the image: “I need you to do me a favor.”
Charon raised an eyebrow, catching the coin and asking: “Oh? Tell me, to get a Federal commander to ask for a favor, the reward must not be low, right?”
“Help me, pull this venomous snake’s tail.”
“I want to force it to stick its head out and expose itself to all the hunters’ sight in advance.”
Three days later.
In a cluster of floating islands formed by suspended crystal clusters, there was silence.
These crystals glowed faintly in the Void Realm, illuminating the airspace.
Star Lord’s biological flagship was docked on the largest crystal mountain.
The fleshy pipelines on the ship’s surface were deeply embedded in the crystal mountain, drawing pure Origin energy.
The wounds of the civil war were being healed.
On the bridge, Star Lord, who was integrated with the flagship, had his Divine Soul immersed in the pleasure of returning power.
He could feel that each pulse of energy nourished his Divine Soul Origin, which had been damaged by the civil war.
Just as he was enjoying this moment of peace.
“Beep! Beep! Beep! Warning! Warning!”
A sharp alarm pierced his Divine Soul, pulling him out of his pleasure.
“Unknown spatial fluctuations detected! Fluctuation frequency highly consistent with the Gravekeeper organization!”
“A fleet is rapidly warping to this area through an abnormal route, a smuggler’s shortcut!”
Star Lord’s will instantly tightened, and his immense Divine Soul transformed into an invisible network of perception, covering the entire airspace.
The next second, he saw it.
In the distant Void Realm, space was violently torn open, and dark cracks appeared out of nowhere, with chaotic spatial turbulence at their edges.
Immediately after, warships, all silver-white with golden order runes engraved on their hulls, squeezed out of the cracks one by one.
Leading them was a super-mothership, very similar to the Gravekeeper’s main mothership, the Court of Time, but more aggressive.
“Gravekeeper!”
His towering rage almost ignited the bridge.
He thought the Timelord had located him so quickly and personally led a pursuit to this place.
“All ships, enter Level One combat status! Blast those tin cans into the dust of the Universe!”
He roared, and the wrath of his Divine Soul transformed into a tangible energy storm, raging through the bridge.
Just as his command was about to be issued, a cold electronic voice, directly crossing the distant Void Realm, resounded in his consciousness.
“Star Lord.”
The roar abruptly stopped.
Star Lord saw a huge holographic image projected from the leading mothership.
In the image was the man in a gray robe, holding a spear of judgment, Arbiter.
“I did not come for battle; I came to seek cooperation.”
“Cooperation?”
Star Lord laughed in extreme anger: “A stray dog who betrayed his own race and is being hunted by the Timelord, what right does he have to talk about cooperation with me?”
“Just by being able to help you completely get rid of the Mother Queen’s entanglement, and allow you to obtain purer, more powerful strength than you have now.”
“I am very interested in your biological technology, but that primitive symbiotic method, full of pollution and risks of loss of control, is an insult to power.”
“And I possess the Gravekeeper’s most core Purifier technology.”
“I can help you remove the useless flesh and Impurities, and integrate those powerful biological genes with your Divine Power and your fleet in a more perfect way.”
“We can create a perfect legion that combines the evolutionary potential of biology with the absolute precision of machinery.”
“By then, whether it’s that stubborn old fossil or that ignorant Earth native, they will all become dust beneath our feet.”
These words opened the door to Star Lord’s inner desires.
Although he had seized control of the flagship, the Mother Queen’s biological contamination still plagued him.
It was a genetic-level erosion, constantly trying to backlash his Divine Soul.
He needed a power to completely purify and control this technology that did not belong to him.
And Arbiter, this traitor, happened to possess that power.
Just as he was weighing the pros and cons of this cooperation, about to yield to reality.
An anomaly occurred.
Beyond the area where their two fleets confronted each other, in the deeper, more distant Void Realm.
A vast, living, dark red fungal carpet silently emerged from behind a spatial fault.
