247: Chapter 247 Sneak Attack!

After traveling for about half an hour, just as Qin Yan estimated he wasn't far from the outskirts...

In a relatively open area ahead where the vines were sparse, two tall white figures appeared.

They were two Ice Field Bears covered entirely in thick, snow-white fur!

They were leaning against a cluster of relatively thick black vines, seemingly resting.

Qin Yan's spirits lifted; he had finally encountered "normal" living beings!

Although they were of a different race, in such a bizarre place, creatures capable of communication were far better than those Evil Spirits that only knew how to attack frantically.

He heightened his guard slightly, but showed no hostility on his face as he took a few steps forward.

The two Ice Field Bears clearly sensed the movement behind them and spun around abruptly.

When they saw Qin Yan alone and holding a long spear, they clearly froze for a moment, and then a strong look of vigilance immediately surfaced in their massive bear eyes.

Qin Yan thought for a moment and took a few steps forward, maintaining a relatively safe distance.

"Pardon me, you two. May I ask if you know how to get out of this black Vine Forest?"

He got straight to the point, stating his intention directly while also testing them.

One of the slightly smaller Ice Field Bears, seeing that the other party was alone and showed no sign of attacking...

...replied in a muffled voice, its tone carrying exhaustion and a hint of helplessness: "I don't know.

The outskirts of this damn forest are shrouded in a thick, eerie black mist. The energy is chaotic; we can't penetrate it at all, and we can't find any obvious gaps.

We tried, and we were almost trapped inside."

Qin Yan's brow furrowed immediately. The outskirts were blocked by black mist?

This wasn't good news; it meant that the conventional plan of "walking out" might not work.

"Could you two take me to the edge of that black mist to have a look?"

Qin Yan made the request, wanting to confirm the situation with his own eyes.

The two Ice Field Bears quickly exchanged a look.

The Ice Field Bear that had answered the question gave its companion an imperceptible wink.

It then turned to Qin Yan, its bear face squeezing out a "friendly" expression: "Of course. It is indeed dangerous for you to be here alone, little brother.

Come with us; we were just about to head back there to see if anything has changed."

Saying this, it signaled for Qin Yan to follow and turned to walk in a certain direction.

The other Ice Field Bear also slowly stood up, seemingly casually falling to the side.

A "grateful" smile appeared on Qin Yan's face as he responded as if completely off guard, "Much obliged."

Then, he stepped forward and followed them.

The distance between the two sides gradually closed.

Three meters, two meters... until they were within a close range of about one meter.

At that very instant!

A sudden change occurred!

The Ice Field Bear leading the way ahead suddenly spun around, its massive paw carrying violent power as it slammed toward Qin Yan's head!

Almost simultaneously, the Ice Field Bear on the side let out a roar, its paw sweeping across to block Qin Yan's retreat and evasion space!

The wind from the paws whistled, and an icy aura instantly filled the air!

The "friendliness" and "exhaustion" from before had long since vanished from their faces, replaced by hideous killing intent and greed.

In this peril-filled, resource-scarce secret realm, a lone and seemingly "weak" human...

...was no different from a fat sheep delivered to their doorstep in their eyes!

Killing for treasure and seizing points was the most normal survival law!

However, facing this sudden lethal attack, the smile on Qin Yan's face vanished without a trace.

It was replaced by a cold sneer and awe-inspiring killing intent.

"Refusing the easy way only to take the hard way!"

A cold snort.

"Boom—!"

His originally restrained and suppressed blood qi erupted like a dormant volcano!

The majestic pressure brought by the full operation of 1,665 cal of blood qi swept across the surroundings with a bang!

The golden light from the Ink-Marked Spear in his hand surged, and a four-foot-long, condensed, solid-like golden Spear Light instantly bloomed!

Forty-eight streaks of Spear Aura circled at high speed, with a dark red Blood Gang attached to the tip of the spear.

Without any superfluous movements, facing the pincer attack, Qin Yan twisted his waist.

The long spear in his hand drew a perfect arc, sweeping toward the two pouncing Ice Field Bears with the momentum of sweeping away a thousand armies!

"Clang! Puchi—!"

The sound of a violent collision and the tearing of flesh rang out almost simultaneously.

The Spear Light and the Ice Field Bears' icy paw force collided head-on.

The latter's self-righteous sneak attack power was like a mantis trying to stop a chariot before Qin Yan's long-prepared, full-power sweep!

"Ow—!"

The two Ice Field Bears only felt an irresistible, violent force accompanied by sharp aura slam hard into their chests.

Their thick fur was torn like paper!

They flew backward with miserable howls, crashing heavily into the tangled black vines behind them, causing the vines to shake violently.

On their chests, a massive, bone-deep bloody gash with mangled flesh appeared on each.

Blood gushed out, instantly staining large patches of white fur red.

The intense blood qi impact further injured their internal organs, causing blood to overflow from their mouths and noses, and their auras withered instantly.

"You... you're actually... a Third-Rank Peak?! And..."

The slightly smaller Ice Field Bear slumped among the vines, looking at Qin Yan, who stood with his spear, his aura as deep as an abyss and as imposing as a mountain; its bear eyes were filled with unbelievable horror and despair.

They thought the opponent was just a lone, ordinary third-rank who could be easily handled, but they didn't expect to kick such a hard iron plate!

Qin Yan didn't waste any words.

Once the battle had begun, there was no room for mercy.

He instantly arrived before the two heavily injured Ice Field Bears.

With a swing of the long spear, the shaft slammed hard into the back of one Ice Field Bear's head, knocking it unconscious on the spot.

Then, his cold gaze fell upon the other Ice Field Bear, which was shivering from intense pain and fear.

"Now, I ask, you answer."

Qin Yan's voice was devoid of emotion. "Don't try to deceive me. I will interrogate your companion later."

"If there is even the slightest discrepancy between your answers..."

He didn't finish, but the cold tip of the long spear lightly pressed against the Ice Field Bear's throat; the meaning was self-evident.

The Ice Field Bear was scared out of its wits and nodded repeatedly, its bear face filled with pleading and submission.

The subsequent interrogation went exceptionally smoothly.

Under the dual pressure of the death threat and the "cross-reference" with its companion, this Ice Field Bear told everything it knew without reservation.

Qin Yan's questions focused on several aspects: how they got here, their knowledge of the black mist on the outskirts, the situation deep in the forest, and their previous team composition and objectives.

"We... we were previously following the prodigy Xiong Da... Xiong Da is one of the strongest prodigies in our tribe, listed on the rankings..."

Through the Ice Field Bear's intermittent but information-rich narrative...

...combined with some of his own deductions, Qin Yan gained a clearer understanding of his current situation.

After fifteen minutes, the interrogation ended.

Without hesitation, Qin Yan swung his long spear, cleanly ending the lives of these two Ice Field Bears who had ill intentions.
