27: Chapter 27 Yellow Zone

Qin Yan's heart was similarly surging with emotion.

In less than ten minutes after stepping into Modu University of Martial Arts, he had been shocked one after another. The top-ranked freshman, the Dean's welcome...

He felt like a country boy who had just entered the city, finding everything novel and shocking.

A few minutes later, the two of them recovered from their shock. Following the road signs and asking seniors they encountered, they headed towards the Freshman Reception Office.

...

After walking for about five or six minutes, they arrived in front of a uniquely styled building with a full glass curtain wall; this was the Freshman Reception Office.

Stepping into the spacious and bright hall, they found it rather deserted, with only three or four service windows still open.

The two chose a window and walked over, and Qin Yan lightly tapped on the glass.

After a while, a slightly lazy female voice came from inside.

"Coming..."

A woman in her forties wearing a uniform appeared slowly behind the window, rubbing her bleary eyes as if she had just woken up.

She sized up Qin Yan and Gao Ming, seeing their travel-worn appearance and large luggage, and already understood: "New Students?"

"Yes, Auntie," the two responded in unison.

"Let me see your admission notices."

Qin Yan and Gao Ming handed their notices through the window.

The woman took the notices, first giving Gao Ming's a casual glance and nodding.

When she saw Qin Yan's student ID number "59", her movements paused slightly. A flash of surprise crossed her face, and she couldn't help but look at Qin Yan a few more times.

She hadn't expected to encounter such a high-ranking genius New Student on the very last day of registration.

She skillfully entered their information into the system, then handed out two information cards and the stamped notices.

"Gao Ming, Yellow Zone, Room 15."

"Qin Yan, Yellow Zone, Room 15."

Taking the cards and looking at the information, both were somewhat confused, not understanding what "Yellow Zone" specifically referred to.

Seeing their confusion, the woman took the initiative to explain: "The student residential areas of Modu University of Martial Arts are mainly divided into four grades: 'Heaven, Earth, Black, and Yellow'.

You New Students have just entered and are all uniformly assigned to the Yellow Zone.

Dormitories in the Yellow Zone are four-person rooms."

"Moving up, the accommodation conditions in the Black Zone are better, being three-person rooms.

The Earth Grade and Heaven Grade Areas go without saying; they are either luxury villas or detached rural estates with courtyards. That environment and those resources are not something the Yellow Zone can compare to."

These words were mainly directed at Qin Yan.

With student ID 59, in her view, as long as his performance in the upcoming Faculty Placement Test wasn't bad, it was highly likely he would be promoted directly to the Earth Grade or even Heaven Grade Area.

As for Gao Ming with ID 599, in her eyes, he was just an ordinary student not worth much attention.

"Thank you for clearing that up, Auntie," Qin Yan thanked her politely.

"You're welcome."

The woman waved her hand. "Wait a moment, I'll contact the Logistics Department, and someone will take you to the dormitory area."

She picked up the internal phone, dialed a number, and said a few words briefly.

About five or six minutes later, a capable-looking man in his thirties wearing a logistics uniform came jogging to the window.

"Sister Li, I'm here."

"Mhm, I see." The woman addressed as Sister Li nodded, pointing at Qin Yan and saying, "Li Feng, this is Qin Yan, and that one next to him. Both are New Students this year. Take them to the Yellow Zone dorms to get settled."

"Sure thing, no problem!"

Li Feng agreed readily, then looked warmly at Qin Yan and Gao Ming, his gaze lingering on Qin Yan for an extra moment.

He had worked at Modu University of Martial Arts for many years and was good at reading people. From Sister Li's attitude, he could vaguely guess that this New Student named Qin Yan was likely not simple.

"Student Qin Yan, and this Classmate, give me your luggage; I'll help you carry it. Shall we head out?" Li Feng said, naturally reaching out to take the suitcase from Qin Yan's hand.

After Qin Yan nodded, Li Feng pulled the luggage and began walking forward.

The address "this Classmate" made the corner of Gao Ming's mouth twitch. He grumbled internally, 'So I don't even deserve to have a name, do I?'

Looking like a slighted little woman, Gao Ming picked up his own suitcase and followed behind huffily.

Along the way, Li Feng led them toward the dorms. He pointed to a ten-story building ahead: "Student Qin Yan, this is our Modu University of Martial Arts library. You can come check it out when you have time."

"However, there are restrictions on the library. Any student of Modu University of Martial Arts can enter the first three floors. As for the higher floors, you only have permission to enter once you become a martial artist."

Qin Yan said in surprise, "There are restrictions just to enter a library? Is it because the upper floors hide secret manuals like Body Tempering Methods?"

Li Feng smiled and shook his head. "Not exactly. Although the books on the higher floors are more precious and rare, they are mostly martial arts theories, insights from predecessors, bestiaries of exotic beasts, and the like, rather than direct cultivation techniques."

"Then why set such a high threshold?"

"This is a very common phenomenon at Modu University of Martial Arts."

Li Feng explained, "Our Modu University of Martial Arts advocates competition and encourages students to keep climbing upward.

To put it bluntly, it's 'the strong are respected and enjoy superior resources'.

The stronger your strength and the higher your talent, the better the permissions, resources, and treatment you can obtain at the school."

"If you are satisfied with just the basic benefits provided by the school and just follow the curriculum, then after graduating in four years, you might just be an ordinary First Grade Martial Artist.

But for those top students, there are plenty who reach the third or even fourth grade realm by graduation!

There are even monstrous geniuses who are rumored to have reached the fifth grade upon graduation!"

Fourth grade, fifth grade! Qin Yan's heart was shaken.

Such strength, if placed in his hometown of Linhai City, would already be a top figure capable of presiding over an entire region!

And this was merely the level of an outstanding graduate from Modu University of Martial Arts!

At the same time, he clearly felt from Li Feng's words that Modu University of Martial Arts was by no means a greenhouse, but a place of extremely fierce competition and disparate resource allocation.

The gap between the mediocre and the outstanding would be infinitely magnified.

Along the way, Li Feng briefly introduced important buildings or facilities they encountered.

Even so, after walking for nearly an hour, they had only crossed a very small portion of the campus area.

This showed just how massive the area of Modu University of Martial Arts was.

"That row of townhouses ahead is the Yellow Grade dormitory area," Li Feng said, pointing forward.

When Qin Yan and Gao Ming looked over, they were once again shocked by the "extravagance" of Modu University of Martial Arts.

In a neatly planned and beautiful area, rows of modernly designed and exquisitely appearing three-story townhouses stood tall.

With lush trees and floral decorations, and even small artificial lakes and pavilions, it looked less like a dormitory and more like a high-end residential district.
