312: Was Chapter 312 good?

Even thinking back now, the scenes of mountains of corpses, seas of blood, and falling stars remain vivid in his mind.

After a moment of silence, Blood Absolute stopped engaging in meaningless arguments and reminiscence with the Black Demon Emperor.

He carefully inspected the four-colored seal before him, inch by inch.

He scanned every chain and every rune node, sensing the flow and balance of energy within them.

After confirming that although the seal had endured some tremors from the previous impact of the Black Demon clone, its core structure remained stable without irreversible damage or obvious loosening, Blood Absolute felt slightly relieved.

Without leaving another word, Blood Absolute silently faded and vanished from the core area of the seal, which was shrouded in absolute silence and darkness.

After Blood Absolute left, this space fell back into an eternal, suffocating dead silence.

Only the churning dark demonic qi at the bottom of the Blood Pool, like an unwilling tide, continued to wash over and erode the indestructible four-colored seal chains wave after wave in vain, making a faint and continuous "shasha" sound.

...

An unknown amount of time passed.

On the blood-colored earth.

Qin Yan's finger twitched with extreme difficulty.

His eyelids were as heavy as mountains; it took him a full dozen breaths of time just to barely open a crack.

What met his eyes was a hazy blood-colored halo and... an exquisite face right before him.

Su Liuli was still unconscious, her eyes tightly closed.

Her nose was straight and delicate, her lips full and beautiful with a natural crimson hue, possessing a moving luster even in sleep.

A few strands of her waterfall-like blood-red hair were scattered across her smooth forehead and the side of her neck, accentuating her snow-white skin; the intertwining of red and white created a breathtaking visual impact.

Setting aside her mysterious identity and inscrutable goals...

Judging by looks alone, Su Liuli was indeed breathtakingly beautiful.

Especially in her current state of deep, defenseless sleep, she had shed her usual air of danger and unpredictability, instead revealing a fragile sense that evoked pity.

It was enough to make anyone's heart sway, creating a contradictory impulse to draw close and protect her while knowing full well her dangerous nature.

Just as Qin Yan's gaze lingered on Su Liuli's face and his heart rippled slightly due to this peerless beauty so close at hand—

Su Liuli's long eyelashes trembled very slightly a few times.

Then, those tightly closed eyes slowly opened.

Her blood-colored pupils were initially somewhat dazed and unfocused, but they quickly regained clarity.

Her gaze naturally met Qin Yan's, who was looking at her from inches away.

Their eyes met.

The air seemed to freeze for an instant.

Su Liuli was first taken aback, a tiny trace of surprise flashing across her exquisite face.

But immediately after, the corners of her crimson lips curled up slightly in a playful and lazy arc.

Instead of pulling away, she tilted her head slightly to face Qin Yan more clearly, her blood-colored eyes shimmering like ripples on a deep pool.

Her breath was like orchids, a wisp of warm air gently brushing past Qin Yan's cheek and the tip of his nose.

“Does it look good?”

Her voice carried the slight rasp and magnetism unique to those who have just woken up, her tone lazy and casual.

Such close proximity and such a direct question, combined with her flawless face and demonic aura, created a powerful impact that was hard to resist.

Qin Yan only felt an inexplicable heat faintly rising from the base of his ears.

But he quickly suppressed the slight ripple in his heart, his face returning to its usual calm and even intentionally adopting a hint of indifference.

He did not answer this "fatal" question, nor did he look into Su Liuli's eyes again.

With a thought, he took a Healing Pill from his Storage Ring and popped it into his mouth without looking; the pill turned into a warm current that spread out, nourishing his empty and weak body.

Then, like an old monk in meditation, he lay there quietly, adjusting his breathing and guiding the medicinal power as if the peerless beauty beside him didn't exist at all.

Seeing this, Su Liuli didn't get angry; instead, her crimson lips curled even higher.

She quite enjoyed seeing Qin Yan's feigned composure, which was actually a bit flustered.

However, she didn't continue to "tease" him.

She also focused her mind and began to nurse her own injuries.

Silence fell between the two once again.

There was only the eternal sound of the blood river's waves in the blood-colored world.

Time passed quietly during their silent recovery.

Half a day went by.

Qin Yan was the first to open his eyes.

The pill in his body was completely digested, his overdrawn physical strength had recovered by sixty to seventy percent, his qi and blood were full again, and jade blood surged through his meridians.

He sat up and moved his limbs; though there was still some soreness, it was no longer a major issue.

Almost simultaneously, Su Liuli also opened her eyes.

She sat up; although her blood-colored robe was damaged, her complexion was clearly much better, her pale face had regained some rosiness, and her blood-colored eyes were bright and sharp again.

The two sat side by side; although there was still a distance between them, after the previous battle of life and death together, the pure wariness and estrangement between them seemed to have faded slightly.

There was an extra, indescribable subtle connection from having experienced a major event together.

“Liuli, Qin Yan.”

Just then, Blood Absolute's powerful and gentle voice sounded from high above in this space, as if coming from beyond the heavens.

Hearing the voice, the two immediately focused, turned toward the source of the sound, and stood up to bow respectfully.

“Greetings, Master.”

“Greetings, Hall Master.”

Su Liuli and Qin Yan spoke one after the other.

Blood Absolute's eyes, deep like blood-colored stars, slowly scanned Qin Yan and Su Liuli standing side by side below, having mostly recovered; a trace of imperceptible satisfaction flashed in his eyes.

“It seems your Blood Dao talents are even more outstanding than I anticipated.”

Blood Absolute's voice carried a hint of praise, “To be able to wake up on your own and recover to such an extent after being unconscious for only ten days is truly not easy.”

At this point, Blood Absolute's gaze focused primarily on Su Liuli.

The reason was simple—Su Liuli had arrived at the Blood God Hall earlier than Qin Yan, had endured the Blood Dao Profundity for longer, and her battle with the Black Demon Emperor's clone was even more tragic.

During this period, the burden on her body, the impact on her meridians, and even the backlash suffered by her soul were all more severe than Qin Yan's.

Yet she still only took ten days to wake up, and her complexion had recovered quite well.

Such Blood Dao talent and resilient will would have definitely qualified her to become Blood Absolute's direct disciple back during the peak of the Jade Court.

Let alone in this era where the Blood Dao heritage is nearly extinct.

Hearing Blood Absolute say they had been unconscious for "ten days," Qin Yan couldn't help but be slightly stunned.

It had actually been that long?

He thought he had only slept for a day or two at most. Plus the fierce battle with the Black Demon Emperor's clone that had lasted for an unknown amount of time...

His current trip into the depths of the Blood God Hall had likely already consumed at least half a month!
