28: Chapter 28 The Number of New Martial Artists!
Li Feng had long since grown accustomed to the surprised expressions of the two; almost every New Student had a similar reaction upon their first arrival.
“The New Student dormitories are all in this area on the left. Senior students live in the other three directions.
Your information cards are your door keys. Just find your corresponding room number and swipe in.
My task is complete. I wish you a pleasant university life!”
Li Feng handed Qin Yan's suitcase back to him and took his leave.
After Li Feng left, the two followed the instructions on their information cards and walked toward the New Student dormitory area on the left.
Soon, they found Gao Ming's Room 15, located on the second floor of the villa.
“Qin Yan, see you later! Contact me once you're settled in!”
Gao Ming waved goodbye and dragged his luggage into his dormitory.
Qin Yan continued to look for his own Room 15.
He discovered that the villa's floors seemed related to rankings; room numbers on the first floor were larger, and the higher up one went, the smaller the room numbers became.
Sure enough, on the third floor, he found the room marked with the number "15". The adjacent rooms were 14 and 16, while Room 65 was opposite them.
Qin Yan lightly swiped his information card against the door lock. With a "beep," the door opened in response.
The interior of the dormitory was even more spacious than it appeared from the outside.
In the center was a bright common living room, furnished with a comfortable sofa and a coffee table.
Four bedroom doors, each with its own independent bathroom, were distributed around the perimeter.
Just as he stepped into the living room, the doors to the other three bedrooms opened almost simultaneously. Three male students with distinct temperaments walked out, their gazes landing squarely on Qin Yan.
Qin Yan was slightly startled. From these three roommates, he felt fluctuations of qi and blood that were far more robust than his own and carried a certain unique rhythm—they were all Martial Artists!
He understood instantly.
His admission ranking was 59th, with 99 points of qi and blood and a perfect score in skills.
The 58 people ranked ahead of him were, in all probability, already Martial Artists.
As for the roommate ranked 6th, they had clearly succeeded in breaking through after the College Entrance Examination ended.
Before school had even officially started, Qin Yan truly felt an invisible, immense pressure.
This was the place where top-tier geniuses gathered!
When those three Martial Artist roommates saw Qin Yan and sensed that the qi and blood in his body had not yet fully converted into Martial Artist True Power, their brows furrowed slightly in unison.
A trace of imperceptible indifference flashed in their eyes.
One of them even shook his head gently.
Then, as if by prior agreement, the three of them said nothing, turned back to their respective rooms, and closed their doors.
Martial Artists and non-Martial Artists might only be separated by a thin line, but they represented different levels of life.
In their view, Qin Yan, who had not yet broken through, was temporarily not on the same level as them, so there was naturally no need for communication.
Regarding his roommates' undisguised coldness, Qin Yan simply accepted it calmly.
He didn't mind because he knew very well that this "roommate" relationship would only last for less than three days.
After three days, once the entrance tests and the department allocation ceremony were over, everyone would be reassigned to dormitories based on their results and choice of mentor.
He would only be staying in this temporary "home" for a short while.
Dragging his suitcase, he walked toward the only empty bedroom.
After swiping his card and entering, he spent half an hour thoroughly cleaning and organizing the room.
He made the bed and arranged his personal belongings, giving this temporary shelter a bit of his own presence.
Once everything was done, Qin Yan checked the time; it was already 12:30 PM.
He had to attend the New Student orientation assembly at 3:00 PM. He hadn't eaten lunch yet, so he took this opportunity to familiarize himself with the campus environment and fill his stomach.
Acting on the thought, Qin Yan left the dormitory and, following the road signs, easily found the cafeteria located near the Yellow Zone.
Modu University of Martial Arts had eight large cafeterias distributed across different areas, and there happened to be one right here in the Yellow Zone.
The cafeteria had three floors and an imposing exterior.
Qin Yan walked into the first-floor hall; it was spacious and bright with many windows. The dishes offered were a feast for the eyes, and without exception, they were all high-protein, high-energy nutritional meals.
What surprised him most was that the basic meals on the first floor were actually provided for free!
As for the second and third floors, he didn't plan on going there for now.
Those floors provided more potent medicinal cuisines and special foods that could directly assist in cultivation and increase qi and blood, but they required spending the school's "academic credits."
The purchasing power of academic credits at Modu University of Martial Arts was much stronger than money—outside, a single qi and blood pill was worth ten thousand huaxia coins, but at school, it only cost one academic credit.
This meant one academic credit was equivalent to ten thousand huaxia coins!
academic credits could not only be exchanged for pills but also used to hire mentors for guidance, learn Martial Arts Skills, and exchange for resources like pill formulas and weapons.
Modu University of Martial Arts only recognized academic credits.
As a New Student, the school had rewarded Qin Yan with 15 academic credits, equivalent to 1.5 million huaxia coins!
He decided he had to plan the use of this "huge sum" carefully.
After finishing lunch, Qin Yan did not return to the dormitory but instead got a brief understanding of the environment around the dormitory area.
Before long, he noticed many New Students walking toward Stadium No. 3—the New Student assembly was about to begin.
Qin Yan followed the flow of people.
He didn't want to be late for his first meeting and leave a bad impression on his future mentors and school leaders.
...
Stadium No. 3 was extremely magnificent, with circular stands capable of holding tens of thousands of people.
At this moment, nearly a thousand New Students were gathered in the center of the field. Most were chatting with familiar fellow townsmen or newly met roommates; very few were alone.
The air was filled with various fluctuations of qi and blood of differing strengths, like a volcano about to erupt.
“All New Students, attention! Form ranks quickly, two people per row, according to your student ID order!”
A majestic, heavy voice suddenly resounded throughout the stadium, clearly reaching everyone's ears and instantly suppressing all the noise.
This voice was not amplified through any sound equipment, but relied purely on the speaker's own exquisite control over qi, blood, and sound waves!
What kind of strength was this?
Qin Yan didn't know, but he was certain it was absolutely not something a low-rank Martial Artist could achieve.
The New Students did not dare to hesitate and immediately took action to find their positions.
Qin Yan quickly found his spot and stood still.
He looked left and right; beside him were exactly two of his three Martial Artist roommates.
Sensing Qin Yan's gaze, the two only gave him a faint glance, their eyes carrying the natural sense of superiority belonging to Martial Artists.
They then looked away and began conversing in low voices, clearly excluding Qin Yan.
Qin Yan didn't mind and took the opportunity to carefully observe the entire field.
He did a rough observation and found that there were about 100 Modu New Students this year, among whom 87 had reached the Martial Artist rank, almost all of whom were students ranked in the top 100.
Many whose student IDs were ranked behind him had also reached the Martial Artist realm during this summer break.
