112: Let the planning begin!

The sudden report made both Wang Lin and Lin Jia freeze.

The next second, Lin Jia was the first to burst out laughing.

She laughed very happily, even completely abandoning her so-called upbringing and decorum; she didn't even bother to cover her mouth, generously displaying her delight to Wang Lin. Wang Lin could even see her tender pink throat.

"See, I told you, people are different." She glanced at Wang Lin, appreciating his expression.

Wang Lin's face was a little pale at this moment, and his eyes held anger.

Clearly, Lin Jia's undisguised mockery had stirred up waves in his heart.

He looked at Lin Jia sternly, and Lin Jia met his gaze without fear. After staring at each other for a full five seconds, Wang Lin suddenly took a deep breath.

He smiled indifferently, "A little interesting."

"It seems I underestimated your friend, or perhaps," he said lightly, "I overestimated."

He casually pulled a small walkie-talkie from his pocket. Seeing Lin Jia instinctively look over, he smiled and thoughtfully turned the volume up to maximum.

"What's going on?" He pressed the talk button and asked.

"Just now, a young man said he was looking for someone, and then, when I wasn't paying attention, he stunned me with a stun gun..." The voice sounded a little ashamed, clearly belonging to the fierce man from earlier.

"Is it that Su Yue we asked you to look out for?" Wang Lin continued to ask indifferently.

"The height is similar, but the appearance doesn't match." The man's reply came from the walkie-talkie.

"Does he have any other weapons?" Wang Lin pressed.

"No, just a stun gun!" The man replied with certainty.

"Where is he now?" Wang Lin said thoughtfully.

"He's already near the Thawing Area, I'm watching him on the monitor!" The man clearly knew he had been careless and quickly tried to make up for it.

Wang Lin said noncommittally, "Catch him. Attention, I want him alive."

"Understood. Lao Hei, Gou Zi, he's in the meat grinder room next to you where they process offal. Go catch him!"

The man began calling other thugs. Wang Lin casually placed the walkie-talkie on the table.

"He didn't even prepare weapons, just barged in with a stun gun. This smart person behind you is truly very bold."

"You seem disappointed, but at the same time, there's a hint of relief?" He glanced at Lin Jia with a half-smile.

"It seems you really trust and even care about your working-class roommate." Wang Lin said indifferently.

And Lin Jia remained silent.

Wang Lin was right; Lin Jia's heart was indeed a bit complex at this moment.

She truly trusted Su Yue, including the fact that when she encountered danger, the first person she thought of was Su Yue.

It was like this this time, and it was the same last time she was followed.

Lin Jia herself couldn't figure out why she had such thoughts. After all, as Wang Lin said, Su Yue was just an ordinary working-class person, and there wasn't a very close relationship between him and Lin Jia, not even as close as normal friends.

At least, friends are for sharing one's joys and sorrows, but Lin Jia had never had a heart-to-heart talk with Su Yue.

Perhaps, it was a kind of inertia formed over more than two years.

After all, when she chose to share an apartment with Su Yue back then, it was because he was very reliable and could provide her with a sense of security.

This made her habitually think of the person who had been silently providing her with a sense of security for over two years whenever she encountered danger.

She was just an ordinary person; although smart and with a wide circle of acquaintances, at her core, she was still just a young girl.

Now that she was kidnapped and the other party made no secret of his killing intent towards her, it was false to say she wasn't scared or nervous.

Of course, she hoped someone could come to save her, and she couldn't help but think of this savior as Su Yue.

But reason told her that even if Su Yue came, he wouldn't be able to do anything except court death.

This was the reason why Lin Jia felt both disappointed and relieved when she learned that someone was indeed coming to save her, but it wasn't Su Yue.

"You seem to know who is coming?" Wang Lin had been watching Lin Jia's expression all along, and he asked curiously.

"I know." Lin Jia nodded.

If Su Yue didn't come, then the one who came could only be Yuan.

And there was nothing to hide now, because since the other party was coming to save her, he would definitely have to meet Wang Lin face-to-face.

"His name is Yuan." Lin Jia said calmly.

"Yuan?" Wang Lin sneered, "Sounds like a very chuunibyou name. No wonder a seemingly smart person would do such a foolish thing."

"Hormones really kill people when they get out of control," he sighed leisurely.

"You seem confident that you can deal with Yuan?" Lin Jia retorted.

Yuan was a smart person. All along, he had given Lin Jia the feeling of planning carefully before acting. Lin Jia didn't believe Yuan would do something he wasn't confident about.

"This isn't confidence, it's logic." Wang Lin held up a finger. "This Yuan is just one person, and I've arranged thirteen thugs in the seafood market."

"Furthermore, Yuan only has a stun gun on him, while my subordinates have guns! Including me." He held up another finger, and with his other hand, he calmly patted his chest.

"Third," he held up a third finger, "I only arranged one person to keep watch in the cashier room, and that person's fighting skills are only barely adequate."

"If even dealing with him requires using deception and then a sudden sneak attack, then it shows that Yuan's combat ability is indeed not great."

"Alone, only carrying a stun gun, and with poor combat ability, how can he deal with so many of my thugs?"

"Have you considered a problem? Yuan arriving here means your kidnapping has been exposed. Maybe the Police Officer are surrounding the seafood market right now. And your thugs will all become witnesses to testify against you then. So what was the point of kidnapping me?" Lin Jia's eyes sparkled.

"First, I can tell you, the Police Officer don't know about this yet, because we have people watching the Municipal Bureau side. The Municipal Bureau shows no signs of major action right now."

Wang Lin said calmly, "Furthermore, even if the Police Officer come, it doesn't matter. I believe they have no idea how many Fork in the road this underground civil defense facility has or where they lead."

"As for the witnesses you mentioned, I can only say you're thinking too naively. They absolutely cannot betray me."

"I didn't expect you to actually possess the rare and precious virtue of trust." Lin Jia retorted fiercely.

"It has nothing to do with trust," Wang Lin shook his head and said indifferently, "These thugs are all hardened criminals I found. Every one of them has a murder case on their back. Once caught by the Police Officer, even if they turn me in, they'll still die. There's no possibility of earning merits to reduce their sentence."

"And I previously transferred 2.5 million yuan to their families' accounts and promised them that as long as I get away safely this time, I will transfer another 2.5 million yuan to their families, regardless of whether they themselves live or die. I will never break my word."

"Indeed, people die for wealth, and birds die for food." Lin Jia sighed contemptuously.

"However, have you noticed a problem?" She suddenly changed the subject.

"We've been chatting for so long, and your thugs still haven't caught him?"

...

While Lin Jia and Wang Lin were engaged in a battle of wits, Su Yue was moving deeper into the seafood wholesale market along the passage.

He didn't take the regular passage but carefully paid attention to the manhole covers on the ground.

The country's laws not only regulate the size of the drainage pipes in the seafood market but also have requirements for vertical shafts.

These vertical shafts used for sewage discharge and pipe maintenance must not be spaced more than ten meters apart. This provided Su Yue and Liang Yuzhu, who was inside the pipe, with a common reference point, allowing them to communicate in a timely manner.

It was precisely because he had to advance along the pipe that Su Yue's speed was slowed down considerably.

But he wasn't in a hurry.

He was currently in the area of the seafood market where offal, fish scales, fish tails, and other waste were processed. In front of him was a large meat grinder. The offal and other things left after processing seafood in the seafood market were all thrown into this meat grinder and directly ground into mince.

This mince was either taken away to be used as fertilizer or transported to factories for reprocessing to produce fish meal or cat food.

A sudden sound of footsteps rang out, clearly audible in the slightly muffled underground space.

Su Yue took a deep breath.

Clearly, the fierce man he had stunned had woken up, determined his location through surveillance, and called his companions to surround and intercept him.

This was exactly what Su Yue needed. He listened carefully to the direction from which the footsteps came, and his figure suddenly became agile, directly squeezing through the gap in the meat grinder.

As he squeezed through, he pressed the communication button on the walkie-talkie.

"The obstacle has been moved aside by me. Continue forward!"

He knew the plan had now officially begun!
