114: Elusive!

Liang Yuzhu was full of doubts.

Her current location was about forty meters from the main entrance of the seafood market. Based on her memory from her previous inspection visit, she estimated she was likely in the processing area to the right of the entrance of the seafood market.

The area near the main passage here contained over a dozen large fish ponds, housing live fish. Many deep-sea seafood items, such as sea crabs and lobsters, were worth much more alive than dead.

However, due to reasons like environment, water quality, or damage from capture, it was also normal for these deep-sea seafood creatures to die in the fish ponds. Seafood spoils and deteriorates extremely quickly, so it must be processed immediately after death; otherwise, the meat becomes inedible.

Precisely because of this, to the right of the fish ponds was the processing room. Dead seafood would be cut open here, internal organs removed, and then portioned and cleaned. The meat was sent to the cold storage in the back, while the waste materials, such as bones, scales, and organs, were sent to a meat grinder and directly minced into a pulp.

Besides those that died in the fish ponds, there were also seafood items that had already died during the capture process; these were also processed here after being thawed in the Thawing Area.

Liang Yuzhu's current location was inside a pipe in the passage between the processing room and the meat grinder.

The environment here was indeed a bit more complex. Due to the different ways various seafood was processed, this area was divided into various small compartments. Additionally, there were operational platforms of varying heights, as well as large and small machinery, including equipment for oxygenation, water pressurization, washing, and even pulverization.

However, no matter how complex it was, it wasn't enough to hide a person directly inside, let alone have something like brushing past someone and not seeing them happen.

This left Liang Yuzhu completely baffled. She even had an absurd thought, wishing she could jump out and verify if those two were actually blind.

Of course, this was just an impulse; Liang Yuzhu wouldn't be foolish enough to actually make such a move.

Moreover, she knew that the two henchmen were certainly not blind, nor were they this stupid.

So how exactly did Yuan manage it?

Taking a deep breath of the foul-smelling air, Liang Yuzhu suppressed the doubts in her heart.

She knew that Yuan was creating an opportunity for her to infiltrate.

She began cautiously crawling forward. The two henchmen were still milling around nearby. Although they were looking for Yuan, if Liang Yuzhu crawled through the pipe beneath their feet and made any sound, they would definitely hear it, provided they weren't deaf.

After all, these pipes were laid completely flush with the ground for ease of maintenance or simply to save money. There was no soundproofing material, and there was absolutely no need for such material.

Furthermore, the obstacles weren't just these two; there were a total of over a dozen henchmen inside.

And there was another crucial point.

During her last visit, Liang Yuzhu had noticed the surveillance equipment in the seafood market. This was normal; surveillance equipment wasn't expensive, and these days, every unit would install cameras everywhere, even many private residences had surveillance installed.

Therefore, no matter what method Yuan used, he could never avoid the surveillance!

Because Liang Yuzhu estimated that these cameras definitely covered the entire area. After all, this seafood market could be said to be Wang Lin's smuggling group's secret stronghold.

Even a normal seafood market wouldn't leave blind spots, let alone a smuggling criminal group full of people with guilty consciences.

The voice coming from the walkie-talkie just now also proved this point; the other party had always been able to detect him through the surveillance equipment!

Liang Yuzhu couldn't figure out how much longer Yuan could operate within the seafood market under such circumstances, but she also had no options at the moment.

The only thing she could do was pray.

She secretly prayed that the gangsters watching the surveillance wouldn't be too focused.

...

Liang Yuzhu's prayer was naive; she knew this herself.

Such a naive prayer naturally had no chance of being answered. In fact, at this moment in the open box room, the fierce man who had been knocked down by Su Yue with a taser was not only not distracted, but was staring intently at the surveillance footage, a look that could be described as completely glued to the screen.

Liang Yuzhu hadn't guessed wrong; the density of surveillance equipment in the seafood market was very high, covering all corners. Although many areas had obstructions due to equipment and angles, it was still possible to grasp the approximate location.

It was precisely this point that left the fierce man dumbfounded.

His gaze was currently fixed on one surveillance screen. On the screen, a young man was casually darting around the processing area in a seemingly leisurely manner. The fierce man could even discern a sense of carefree ease from his posture.

Behind him, two henchmen, armed with machetes, were running around like wild dogs. If one didn't know they were actually chasing someone, one might mistake them for playing hide-and-seek.

The scene was comical and absurd, but the fierce man couldn't laugh.

"He's to your left, uh, just about to enter the tuna processing room," he quickly reported the location.

The two henchmen, who had been running like excited wild dogs, instantly had a target. One of them followed the processing area passage towards the tuna workstation, while the other chose to go around from the direction of the fish ponds.

The two henchmen were not stupid, and they seemed to be of decent quality. Without communicating, they immediately adopted a flanking posture. The henchman taking the passage had no obstacles; he was the first to reach the tuna workstation. The next second, he raised his hand and reached for the walkie-talkie tucked behind his hip.

"Big Eye, where is he?" This henchman used the fierce man's nickname. The fierce man even saw him subconsciously bend down and glance under the processing table.

The fierce man, known as Big Eye, was also momentarily stunned. He subconsciously looked at another screen; the second henchman, who had gone around from the direction of the fish ponds, was also about to arrive.

"Gou Zi, did you see him?" He began calling that henchman.

"No," Gou Zi was also very confused at this moment. The tuna processing room was located between the processing area and the Thawing Area. To leave from here, there were only two paths: one was the processing area passage, and the other was the direction of the fish ponds.

But Lao Hei, who took the passage, hadn't seen him, and he himself hadn't seen him. Where could the other person have gone?

"Lao Hei, did you check inside the processing room?" Gou Zi asked suspiciously.

"Like hell I did!" Lao Hei retorted, full of anger.

This was indeed a foolish question. While called small compartments, these processing rooms were actually pieced together from engineering plastic and acrylic panels, similar to the partitions used in offices. They had no ceiling, and only three walls.

Inside, there was only a bare operational platform used for cutting fish meat, completely exposed. Even the platform was just a stainless steel frame with a white cutting board laid on top, offering no concealment whatsoever.

When Lao Hei entered the processing room, he had even specifically bent down for a confirming look. This was already excessively diligent, because whether someone was hiding under the cutting board was something he could actually see at a glance from outside the doorway.

"Damn it, he ran back to the meat grinder again!" Big Eye felt like he was about to grind his teeth to dust.

He had been tricked by this intruding kid before, falling for a nasty trap and getting knocked down by this sprout-like kid with a taser.

Being tased was one thing, but the other party relentlessly poked him with the taser for a full ten seconds.

Due to current issues, this type of taser wasn't lethal. However, the extremely high voltage had still charred the skin and flesh on his chest, which would definitely leave a scar.

Moreover, it might have been a coincidence, or the other party might have done it intentionally, but the spot that was charred black was exactly on the prominent area on the left side of his chest.

Although as a man, this organ, apart from embodying the creator's aesthetics and concept of fairness, had no substantial function, so getting it a bit charred didn't really matter.

But Big Eye knew that his group of accomplices were definitely not that simple-minded.

They would absolutely not believe that this was a scar left from being ambushed. Instead, they would think he had a unique hobby of playing S&M and accidentally went too far.

Even knowing clearly that wasn't the case, everyone would still insist on this point.

This was a genuine case of low damage, but extreme humiliation.

Big Eye's mind was now completely focused on catching this kid, then taking his taser and charring all three key points on his body black.

Yet this kid could be described as completely elusive.

What the hell is going on?

"Damn it, how did he get past? Big Eye, weren't you watching the surveillance the whole time?" Lao Hei was clearly dissatisfied with Big Eye's work.

"How was I supposed to know he'd run back again? There were things blocking the view, I couldn't see him constantly!" Big Eye retorted impolitely.

"Damn it, this kid is too slippery. How about we ask the Boss to send a couple more people over?" Gou Zi finally couldn't stand it anymore.

"Send two more over!" A cold voice suddenly sounded in the walkie-talkie. Big Eye shivered all over.

This was Wang Lin's voice!

Only then did Big Eye remember that Wang Lin was personally involved in this operation, and he also had a walkie-talkie. Apparently, he had been listening in the whole time.

And judging by his tone, Wang Lin was clearly very angry!

"Boss," he quickly tried to salvage the situation, "I suspect this kid might be trying to escape!"

"He won't get away!" Wang Lin replied coldly.

Just hearing the voice sent a chill through Big Eye's entire body.

He knew very well that Wang Lin's tone indicated he was furious to the extreme!
