64: Do you want to learn secret agent skills?

To be honest, Su Yue had complex feelings towards his female roommate.

On one hand, Lin Jia and Su Yue were from completely different social strata. Su Yue's salary was six thousand, while Lin Jia's was thirty-eight thousand.

This thirty-eight thousand was just a monthly conversion from her annual salary, and Lin Jia didn't only earn a monthly salary; the bulk of her income was actually from various commissions and bonuses.

Roughly estimated, Lin Jia's annual income easily exceeded a million. Just the bottles and jars she had in the bathroom, any single one of them, Su Yue couldn't afford with a month's salary.

Some of the slightly more expensive ones might cost Su Yue's annual salary.

Therefore, Lin Jia actually had more in common with Lan Zijun. Although the difference in their family backgrounds was quite large due to the existence of Lan's company, their level of thought was definitely on the same tier.

They were both fair-skinned, beautiful, long-legged female elites.

However, for such a beautiful, high-earning woman to live in a small City Village rental like Su Yue did shortly after leaving school was truly somewhat incomprehensible.

Of course, it was others who couldn't understand; Su Yue knew the reason Lin Jia did this.

Firstly, it was close to Lin Jia's workplace. This was a City Village, and there had been widespread rumors about its redevelopment before, but later it was said that the administration at the time had lost the redevelopment funds, leaving behind a huge debt of several hundred billion. The new administration was swamped just repaying the debt, making redevelopment a distant prospect.

Although redevelopment had become a 'lifetime series' project, the City Village itself had a superior geographical location, right next to the so-called CBD, where Lin Jia's company was located, only about a ten-minute walk away.

The second reason was that Lin Jia attended the nearby Business and Trade College. She rented this apartment for peace and quiet when she was still a student, lived there for several years, and got used to it.

From this perspective, Lin Jia actually didn't match the temperament she usually displayed; she was actually a nostalgic person.

As for the relationship between Su Yue and Lin Jia, it was even more complex than Lin Jia herself.

From the beginning, Lin Jia just wanted company because she was timid. Plus, she often traveled for work and wasn't home, needing someone to take care of her plants, so she posted a roommate ad and chose Su Yue.

The reason was precisely because Su Yue was male and could provide a sense of security. Yet he was also proper and honest, so proper that his first words to the beautiful Lin Jia were that her bedroom was larger and therefore she should pay more rent.

It was this sentence that allowed Su Yue to defeat many competitors who fantasized about 'cohabiting' with the goddess, move into this apartment, and become Lin Jia's roommate.

By now, they had lived together for several years. Their relationship had also evolved from initial unfamiliarity, to gradually becoming familiar, and now, if you call them friends, their lives don't intersect, and they don't have much deep understanding of each other.

If you say they are just simple neighbors, they trust each other.

It's a peculiar feeling of family, or perhaps, familiar yet close strangers.

This was why Su Yue added Lin Jia to his list of the only two people he could trust. Li Haoyang was because he was naive, simple, and trusted Su Yue. Trust for Lin Jia came from their long period of cohabitation, familiarity, and mutual care.

It was this point that made Su Yue a little hesitant about turning Lin Jia into his intelligence operative.

Li Haoyang dreamed of being a gold-medal secret agent, so Su Yue gave him a chance and took him as a subordinate. But Lin Jia had never said she had thoughts in this regard.

But on second thought, Lin Jia really was a good candidate for intelligence work.

She was smart, sharp, widely connected, and also fair-skinned, beautiful, long-legged, young, pretty, and high-paid, making her a target for flattery from many people.

This didn't mean Lin Jia would use low-level tactics like seduction; rather, it's inherently difficult for men to control their mouths in front of beautiful women.

She could easily obtain a lot of information, including the fact that her own sales business was so booming, which was partly due to her personality and appearance advantages.

Since that's the case, I'll go and sound her out, Su Yue decided.

After all, besides Lin Jia, he currently had no other candidates.

Deciding to act, a minute later, Su Yue was already at Lin Jia's door.

The light was still on inside; Lin Jia clearly wouldn't be asleep so early. Just as he raised his hand to knock, a clear and pleasant voice came from inside.

"Come in, the door isn't locked!"

Su Yue was slightly puzzled, but he quickly realized. Lin Jia had installed cameras in the apartment before, and she could see outside from her room.

But she noticed him as soon as he walked over. Could it be that she wasn't watching TV or listening to music to relax late at night, but was staring at the cameras?

With his doubts, Su Yue pushed open the door. As soon as he opened it, a fresh scent wafted out, invigorating Su Yue.

"What are you doing?" He hesitated slightly, then stepped inside.

This wasn't the first time Su Yue had entered Lin Jia's room, but before it was just to help move something or similar. Walking in casually like this, as if visiting, was the first time.

Lin Jia's room was very tidy and cozy. As for Lin Jia herself, she had already changed into pajamas at this time.

This was her habit; loose pajamas were naturally more comfortable than other clothes.

At this moment, she was curled up in a computer chair, facing her computer, with a pair of white feet, toes painted with nail polish, sticking out from the chair, making one involuntarily want to touch them.

"Watching the cameras." Lin Jia's feet moved unconsciously twice. Lin Jia was sitting on the only chair in the room; she casually pointed to a cushion on the floor, "Sit."

Su Yue didn't mind these details. He sat down as told, "Watching what cameras?"

"I want to see who's following me." Lin Jia's gaze returned to the computer screen. She frowned, staring at every figure walking by on the surveillance feed.

Su Yue was startled. Lin Jia had previously told Su Yue that she felt she was being followed, and for this, she had specially hired a Master to install cameras.

He had originally thought that this matter would come to an end after the cameras were installed, but he didn't expect Lin Jia to be so concerned. It seemed the stalker was indeed bothering her greatly.

"Have you offended anyone?" Su Yue sat up straight.

"Who could I have offended?" Lin Jia rubbed her cheek in distress, "In our sales line, the most important thing is to be friendly, and the most feared thing is casually making enemies."

Su Yue nodded. Lin Jia wasn't lying about this; sales is a profession that relies on good relationships, and often a casual word from someone can make or break a deal.

"Then it can only be your admirers," Su Yue relaxed his body again and answered easily.

Lin Jia was silent, unable to refute this statement.

Of course, she knew that with her looks, demeanor, and income, it was normal for a few admirers or men who didn't want to work hard and planned to cling to Lin Jia for both wealth and beauty to appear.

These people certainly wouldn't wait for Lin Jia to come to them; they would secretly collect information about Lin Jia and be ready to stage a chance encounter at any time.

"It's really annoying." Lin Jia closed the laptop screen gloomily and looked at Su Yue, "Su Yue, do you have any way to find these people?"

"There is a way." Su Yue looked at Lin Jia intently and spoke meaningfully.

"Would you like to learn some tracking and anti-tracking techniques?"
