62: New intelligence

While Jiang Zhehao was racking his brains and doubting life in the President's office, Su Yue leisurely returned to the Second Floor via the stairs.

Sitting back down at his desk, a faint smile appeared on Su Yue's face.

A voice suddenly sounded beside him: "Su Ge, what are you smiling about?"

Su Yue looked back. The owner of the voice was none other than Li Haoyang, who was currently looking at Su Yue with a curious expression.

This almost made Su Yue wonder if there was something on his face, especially since he had just washed his face in the restroom.

"What's wrong?" he asked, puzzled.

"I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I always feel like Su Ge, you've changed somehow," Li Haoyang said uncertainly.

"How am I different?" Su Yue continued to ask curiously.

"I can't quite put my finger on it, but there's a mysterious aura of a big shot about you – very thoughtful, and very ambitious," Li Haoyang said thoughtfully, stroking his chin.

Su Yue couldn't help but laugh.

Li Haoyang was indeed an observant and very sensitive person, although he appeared somewhat careless on the outside and occasionally had peculiar ways of thinking.

Su Yue could feel the changes in himself over this period without Li Haoyang having to say anything.

Compared to the previous state of lying flat out of confusion and helplessness, he had indeed become more steady and more energetic now.

This was because he finally had a stage where he could display his talents!

Although his stage was still very small, just a tiny D-level Intelligence Outpost, for Su Yue, who had learned a lot about psychology, target behavior logic, and other knowledge, this Intelligence Outpost was the wings of his dream.

The metaphor of wings might be a bit cliché, but it was the truth.

"Oh right, where did you go just now?" Li Haoyang was clearly not here to listen but to talk. Without waiting for Su Yue's answer, he eagerly changed the subject.

"Went to the Third Floor to watch the excitement," Su Yue replied lazily.

"No wonder your clothes are a bit wet," Li Haoyang nodded understandingly. "Do you know what exactly happened at the company? Those bodyguards looked really nervous. I saw them rushing up to the Third Floor in a panic. Did something happen at the President's office?"

"I saw it too. They rushed straight into President Lan's office," Su Yue nodded.

He had just completed a communication with Lan Zijun in the Third Floor restroom. When he came out, he happened to see the bodyguards Lan Zijun hired running upstairs aggressively and charging into the President's office.

Clearly, Lan Zijun had already informed them that she had taken the money.

One could imagine how shocked they would be when they discovered the money was gone.

But why was Li Haoyang talking about this?

He could tell that besides triumph, there was a hint of panic in Li Haoyang's expression.

"Tell me, why did President Lan suddenly want to recruit subordinates using a cipher?" Li Haoyang suddenly brought up the old topic again.

"Didn't you say she was recruiting top secret agents?" Su Yue gave Li Haoyang a meaningful look.

He and Li Haoyang had discussed this issue before. Both sides, or rather, Li Haoyang believed the company was in a turbulent period, and with Qian Boda's plot against President Lan happening, Lan Zijun wanted to form a team of top secret agents.

But Li Haoyang bringing up this issue again now meant he had some new ideas.

With a little analysis, Su Yue understood Li Haoyang's thoughts.

Clearly, Li Haoyang didn't doubt that he was acting as President Lan's top secret agent, but the bodyguards' reaction surprised him, or rather, he was thinking too deeply.

In his opinion, only Lan Zijun knew about his flower delivery, not even Su Yue. And just as he was about to be caught, a fire alarm suddenly went off on the Third Floor, causing chaos and allowing him to escape. This was definitely not a coincidence.

And the only one who could have helped him was clearly Lan Zijun. But since the order was given by Lan Zijun, why would she help Li Haoyang escape? Was she bored out of her mind?

President Lan doesn't have testicles, so that's impossible. And if you think about this matter more deeply, it's simply terrifying to contemplate.

Hmm, there seems to be a hint of a brave knight rescuing a princess in this.

Honestly, Su Yue was quite pleased with Li Haoyang's wild imagination. This showed that Li Haoyang also had excellent analytical skills.

Although his analysis was off the mark, it was only because all his analysis was based on a false premise.

Because Lan Zijun's cipher was for Su Yue, and the cipher Li Haoyang received was given by Su Yue.

As the saying goes, a miss is as good as a mile.

"Oh right, where did you go just now?" Li Haoyang was deep in thought, while Su Yue skipped this topic.

Because he was about to burst into laughter.

"Same as you, watching the excitement on the Third Floor," Li Haoyang said with a knowing expression. He glanced at Su Yue and feigned surprise: "I saw you, didn't you see me?"

Su Yue looked at Li Haoyang in surprise. Is this kid trying to play psychology games on me?

He was 100% certain this kid definitely didn't go to the Third Floor, but rather went to dispose of his previous disguise. And even if he had gone to the Third Floor, he wouldn't have been able to see him.

He just wanted to create an illusion for Su Yue with his words, making it seem like Su Yue had seen him in the Third Floor stairwell.

Human memory is easily tampered with and replaced.

"Yeah, I think so, I think I saw you..." Su Yue said uncertainly, laughing inwardly.

Li Haoyang wanted to create an alibi, and so did Su Yue.

After all, he couldn't guarantee that no one had noticed him appearing near the central ventilation system on the Third Floor before the incident.

And with Li Haoyang's testimony, this matter was completely settled, because even if pressured, Li Haoyang would only confess that he just went to the Third Floor to deliver flowers to Yang Qingmei.

This was a perfect investigation brake, and Su Yue could completely use it to hide his merits and fame.

This kid has some brains, Su Yue looked at Li Haoyang with appreciation.

He was definitely recruiting this intelligence agent!

...

After getting off work, Su Yue once again declined socializing with colleagues and went straight home.

As soon as he opened the door, he smelled a faint fragrance. Clearly, his female roommate Lin Jia was home today.

This made Su Yue a bit puzzled. Lin Jia was the Sales Director, and Sales Directors inevitably had to negotiate with various clients on weekdays.

And the current social culture was like this; so-called negotiations usually took place at the dinner table, causing her to come home late most of the time. Even on holidays, she would choose to travel somewhere, which was determined by her daily habits.

Given her personality and job type, she clearly wouldn't be a homebody.

This was why Su Yue rarely saw his female roommate. They were not on the same level, leading to them sharing a room but having very little interaction with each other, and even rarely meeting.

But today, Lin Jia was home so early, even earlier than Su Yue, which was a bit unusual.

However, Su Yue didn't disturb Lin Jia. He went straight into his room and then immediately entered the underground Intelligence Outpost.

Today was the day for new intelligence to be refreshed.

Moreover, Su Yue currently had 40 million in funds.

He could expand his Intelligence Outpost!
