17: Disgusting people, disgusting smell!

Su Yue's words drew glances from the colleagues present, adding a hint of confusion to their indignant expressions.

There was a hidden meaning in his words!

Everyone quickly gathered around Su Yue, blinking with curiosity, and asked:

"Su Ge, what do you mean by that?"

"Do you know something internal?"

"Tell us!"

Surrounded by colleagues, they spoke over each other, hoping Su Yue would reveal some different information.

But Su Yue didn't dwell on the topic, merely smiling lightly at them, shrugging, and saying:

"How would I know anything internal? That's just a beautiful wish of mine."

"Anyway, we have to go through a 7-day handover before leaving. Maybe within these 7 days, Qian Boda will change his mind, or..."

Su Yue deliberately dragged out the sound without continuing, and the other colleagues quickly pressed him.

"Or what? Tell us, Su Yue, don't keep us in suspense, hurry up and say it!"

"Cough, cough, or President Lan will dump Qian Boda."

After hearing Su Yue speak, the colleagues all raised their hands together and said in unison:

"Boo!"

Everyone pouted:

"We got our hopes up for nothing, I thought there was going to be a twist!"

"Su Yue, you shouldn't tease people like that."

"Sigh, although we really hope that scoundrel Qian Boda gets dumped by President Lan and gets his comeuppance... but if curses worked, the world would have been peaceful long ago, and there wouldn't be so many conflicts."

"Ah!"

Gloomy and dejected, the atmosphere in the entire office was unusually oppressive, like climbing to a high plateau, feeling a lack of energy and difficulty breathing.

Amidst it all, Su Yue said nothing more, but when no one else noticed, a meaningful smile curved at the corner of his mouth.

Everything, let's wait and see.

....

In the President's office.

Lan Zijun looked at the document filled with the names of the laid-off employees, her eyes coldly fixed on her fiancé, Qian Boda, who was pouring water with his back to her.

Her education and self-cultivation prevented Lan Zijun from flipping the table and directly falling out with Qian Boda.

Most of the people on the layoff list were veterans who had helped Lan Zijun build up the business.

Step by step, they had fought their way through the invisible battlefield of the business world to earn the Yuantu Investment Company's wealth.

For these meritorious officials, Lan Zijun had originally intended for them to stay with the company until their glorious retirement.

After all, this was what they deserved.

But Qian Boda, on the other hand, had directly fired all of them!

Her delicate brows furrowed tightly, her silver teeth clenched, Lan Zijun tried her best to control her emotions, but a hint of anger could still be felt in her tone.

"Why did you fire so many people all at once?"

Facing Qian Boda's back, Lan Zijun asked, enunciating each word.

"Why keep them if they're not fired?"

Turning around, holding a teacup, Qian Boda tilted his head back and drank all the tea in the cup before saying nonchalantly.

"The people I fired are all stuck in their ways and don't know how to improve."

Putting down the teacup, Qian Boda flopped onto the sofa, resting his arms on the back of it, looking directly at the angered Lan Zijun, and said calmly:

"These fired employees, relying on being company veterans, are resting on their laurels and not seeking progress."

"For the company to develop and expand, these Woodworms (parasites) must be removed."

Putting down his arms from the back of the sofa, Qian Boda leaned forward, retorting to Lan Zijun:

"It's because you were too lenient with them before, letting them take advantage and become increasingly undisciplined!"

Lan Zijun subconsciously took a small step back; she didn't want to be too close to Qian Boda.

She also didn't want to argue with him; that would only lead to endless quarrels.

Their wedding was imminent. Although there was no affection between them, and no marital relations.

This was, after all, a marriage alliance that concerned the future development of two families, involving multiple interests.

She knew very well why Qian Boda wanted to dismiss so many people.

Qian Boda was not a fool. Although he outwardly appeared like a playboy, he was still a Qian family descendant and was well-versed in workplace matters.

Although Su Yue's words were polite, his meaning was clear.

He had his superior, his superior also had his superior, and everyone had one common superior: Lan Zijun!

He only needed to be responsible to Lan Zijun. What were you, Qian Boda?

In other words, the loyalty of these employees was only to Lan Zijun herself, not to the suddenly inserted Qian Boda.

But Qian Boda also had ambitions. After getting married, he would come to preside over Far View (Yuantu). Of course, he needed to clear out the employees loyal to Lan Zijun, otherwise he would have no say in the company.

This was originally part of the transaction content of their marriage alliance.

She could only put the matter of laying off most of the company's employees aside, but feeling slightly unwilling, she still said coldly about Qian Boda's actions:

"Even if you want to fire them, you shouldn't issue a sudden notice and catch them off guard. This will break their hearts."

Break their hearts?

Qian Boda laughed upon hearing this, spreading his hands nonchalantly:

"They're already fired, what's the point of talking about breaking hearts? Who cares about them!"

"Those who are useless to the company deserve this outcome."

Purely the face of capitalist exploitation, even Satan would call Qian Boda 'Big Brother'!

After speaking, Qian Boda looked at the Patek Philippe watch on his wrist, then stood up and said to Lan Zijun:

"Tomorrow is the online bidding conference. I will come to the company early. This bidding conference is very important; we must win it."

Lan Zijun didn't respond, just nodded silently with a cold face.

Of course, she knew that the online bidding conference to be held tomorrow was very important; it might be a project led by the Municipal Department!

Just securing thirty percent would allow Yuantu Investment Company to achieve sixty percent of its predetermined annual sales target.

Tomorrow, they had to go all out and win.

After discussing some more details about tomorrow's online bidding conference, Qian Boda turned to leave the office, heading somewhere unknown.

Lan Zijun, who spoke slowly like a person of importance, raised her hand to signal Qian Boda not to rush.

Turning around, Lan Zijun took out a list from the drawer and handed it to Qian Boda. He reached out and took it, asking somewhat impatiently, "What is this?"

"These are the materials related to our wedding preparations and the ceremony flow. You are the groom; you need to check if there are any improprieties."

"If there are, we need to correct them quickly while there is still time."

When speaking these words to Qian Boda, Lan Zijun sounded like a cold, emotionless robot, her tone so stiff that even mere acquaintances wouldn't speak like that.

Moreover, Lan Zijun and Qian Boda were engaged to be married.

"You can decide all of this."

Qian Boda gave a fake smile, pushing the list back to Lan Zijun, saying insincerely:

"Your taste is impeccable, the best. I have no opinions; you can make all the decisions."

"I just need to prepare our love nest."

After saying this disgusting sentence, Qian Boda waved and left.

Behind him, Lan Zijun covered her nose in disgust and waved her hand, as if trying to clear away the smell Qian Boda left behind.

The dismissal of these employees was irreversible, even for Lan Zijun, because this marriage alliance involved too many complex aspects.

However, she wouldn't abandon these employees either.

She could find another place to arrange them; Lan Zijun was capable of doing that.

But, did she really have to marry this disgusting person?
