199: Chapter 197 The Truth? The Egg of a High-Dimensional Hunter? Brother: Can we eat it?

"Regardless of what they are planning."

Luo Yu patted Godzilla's scales and said, "We have to go regardless. If the situation on the road is unclear..."

Speaking up to this point, Luo Yu glanced at Su Zhiruo.

"Can your spatial anchor still be used?"

Su Zhiruo grinned: "You think I've only been practicing my punches these past few years? I've already upgraded the spatial anchor. The maximum teleportation distance covers five hundred kilometers, with a limit of two people per teleportation."

"That's enough. If things look bad, just bail."

"I won't leave you behind."

"Who said anything about leaving me behind?"

Luo Yu tapped Godzilla on its head, "In case something happens, I'll ride Godzilla and fight, and you can teleport back to the bridgehead yourself. A 1,900-meter-tall Planet-level monster—do you think anything in the Abyss World can stop it?"

Su Zhiruo thought about it and agreed.

"Let's go."

Godzilla continued forward.

Its speed was a notch faster than before, and the distance of each stride was even greater. The ground retreated rapidly beneath its feet; forests of stone pillars, scorched zones, lava ravines... various landscapes flashed by like a fast-forwarded documentary.

Mothra flew high above, her golden eyes watching in all directions while releasing faint light energy, enveloping the team like a moving lighthouse.

Pandora curled into a ball at Luo Yu's waist, its single eye occasionally opening to glance at the ground, closing again after finding no high-dimensional aura.

One hundred kilometers. One hundred and fifty kilometers. Two hundred kilometers.

At two hundred and ten kilometers, the ground actually collapsed.

It wasn't a small-scale collapse; the ground within a twenty-kilometer radius centered on Godzilla's feet fractured and sank as a whole.

The ground sank three hundred meters, revealing a layer of rock with a completely different color—deep purple, shimmering with a faint fluorescent glow.

"What is this?" Su Zhiruo widened her eyes.

"An abyss energy crystal layer." Luo Yu looked at the purple rock surface beneath his feet, his tone subtle, "The energy density of the Abyss World starts to surge from here."

Godzilla stepped onto the purple rock layer, and the temperature of its soles caused a large amount of steam to rise from the contact surface. It looked down, nostrils emitting two puffs of hot air; it was clearly sniffing.

After sniffing for two seconds, Godzilla's vertical pupils lit up.

"Hiss!"

Good stuff.

The purity of the abyss energy contained within the purple crystal layer was extremely high. For the Planet-level Godzilla, it counted as a "tasty snack." It couldn't compare to nuclear weapons or Helium-3, but it was much better than those low-rank monsters.

"Don't eat it yet."

Luo Yu pressed down on its head, "Eat it when we get there; don't delay now."

Godzilla reluctantly raised its head and continued walking forward, but its tail dragged on the ground, scraping against the surface of the purple rock layer, dragging out a glowing groove along the way.

Obviously, this guy was sneaking bites.

Luo Yu pretended not to see it.

Two hundred and thirty-something kilometers. Two hundred and fifty kilometers. Two hundred and sixty kilometers!

Suddenly, Su Zhiruo grabbed Luo Yu's arm urgently.

"Thirty kilometers ahead, the entrance to the underground cavity!"

Luo Yu saw it too.

On the ground ahead, a huge, almost perfect circular depression appeared.

The diameter was twenty kilometers.

The edges were unnaturally neat; it wasn't a naturally formed collapse but more like it had been precisely excavated by some kind of power. The depth of the depression was visually estimated to exceed five hundred meters, and the bottom was shrouded in a thick layer of purple mist, making it impossible to see anything.

But that signal of biological spatial distortion surged out from the bottom of the depression, so intense that even Luo Yu's spiritual power shield resonated slightly.

"This is the cavity entrance that Su Zhiruo detected earlier."

At the edge of the depression, seven Ninth-Rank Abyss Great Beasts lined up, facing Godzilla's direction.

They were not in a combat stance.

The seven giant beasts all had their heads lowered, front limbs folded, and bellies pressed to the ground—clearly a gesture of submission.

Su Zhiruo gasped: "They really are..."

Bowing down.

The seven Ninth-Rank Abyss Great Beasts were bowing their heads and showing obedience to Godzilla.

Godzilla stopped, its vertical pupils scanning them. There was no killing intent in its eyes, nor was there acceptance—it was purely a high-and-mighty scrutiny, like a tiger looking at ants: not worth the effort to step on, nor worth the time to appreciate.

"Godzilla, they are making way for us." Luo Yu stood on top of Godzilla's head, looking down at the bottom of that twenty-kilometer-wide depression.

The purple mist was churning, and there was a faint light underneath—not purple, but white.

White light.

Pandora's body suddenly went rigid.

Its single eye opened to its widest, the entire snake shot out from Luo Yu's waist, gripping his sleeve tightly, as thoughts flooded into Luo Yu's mind frantically:

"Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong!!"

"That is not their thing; it is the Home's thing. There is a Home's thing down there."

"A very, very, very strong Home's thing!!!"

Luo Yu's pupils contracted.

He turned to look at Su Zhiruo.

Su Zhiruo's face turned pale.

"I scanned it." Her voice was trembling.

"At the bottom of the cavity... there is an active... spatial node."

"It wasn't created by an Abyssal Giant Beast."

"It is High-Dimensional."

Silence.

The wind was blowing, the characteristic fishy wind of the Abyss World surging up from that twenty-kilometer depression, wrapped in purple mist and white light.

Luo Yu understood.

The three kings of the abyss shrinking their forces, releasing road signs, and the seven Ninth-Rank beasts bowing and making way—it wasn't about trading with him.

It was a plea for help?

Uninvited guests had arrived in their lair—uninvited guests from the high-dimensional world.

"So these guys drove out tens of thousands of giant beasts to act as meat shields, not to stop me..." Luo Yu pursed his lips and said, shocking everyone: "It was to drag out my steps so I would walk slower, buying them time to escape."

"And those seven Ninth-Rank beasts staying at the entrance without leaving is telling me—there is something scarier than them down below, so please, sir, hurry down and take care of it."

Su Zhiruo: "..."

A group of Abyssal Giant Beasts, having their nest snatched by a high-dimensional being, forced to a dead end, lowered their status to kneel before their former mortal enemy, begging them to help drive out the intruder in their home.

If she hadn't witnessed it with her own eyes, she wouldn't believe it even if beaten to death.

"Are we going down?"

Su Zhiruo looked at Luo Yu's profile.

Luo Yu looked down at Godzilla, half of whose head was poking out of his pocket.

No, Godzilla was currently in its 1,900-meter true form; its head was right under his feet.

At this moment, Godzilla was staring at the white light at the bottom of the depression, crimson flames dancing in the depths of its vertical pupils.

Last time in Antarctica, it blew off the High-Dimensional Hunter's hand.

But that was just a hand.

The guy's true body had indeed run away.

And now, another high-dimensional being—or the same one—appeared in the depths of the Abyss World.

Whether it came through some unknown entrance or arrived via other means was temporarily unclear.

But one thing was clear.

The crimson light on Godzilla's dorsal fins reached its brightest.

It wanted to fight.

It really wanted to fight.

Last time in Antarctica, it only slapped the guy once and let it run away; Godzilla remembered that.

"Hiss."

The urgency was obvious: What are you dawdling for? Go down.

Luo Yu twitched the corner of his mouth.

"Let's go."

Godzilla lifted its foot and stepped into that twenty-kilometer-wide depression.

Its 1,900-meter-tall body walked down the slope of the depression, its footsteps steady. The purple mist evaporated and dissipated in its high-temperature field, and the white light from beneath its feet grew brighter and brighter.

The seven Ninth-Rank Abyss Great Beasts maintained their submissive posture, not moving an inch.

When Godzilla's figure disappeared into the depression, one of the giant beasts slowly raised its head, its dark red compound eyes staring in the direction Godzilla had disappeared, not knowing what it was thinking.

Perhaps it was wondering if this monster could really take down the thing below.

Perhaps it was wondering, if it couldn't, whether it would have enough time to run.

There was never any trust to speak of in the Abyss World, but when at a dead end, taking a gamble was fine too.

...

The bottom of the depression was deeper than Su Zhiruo had estimated.

Godzilla walked for nearly ten minutes before reaching the bottom. After the purple mist had completely dissipated, an unimaginable underground space was revealed before everyone's eyes.

The dome height exceeded three thousand meters—more than enough for Godzilla to stand inside.

The space was at least thirty kilometers in diameter, even wider than the depression on the surface.

The surrounding walls were made of purple crystal rock, emitting a faint fluorescent glow, as if they were inside a giant amethyst.

Circling the edge of the space, countless skeletons of Abyssal Giant Beasts were embedded in the rock walls; some were fifth-rank, some sixth-rank, and even seventh-rank and eighth-rank remains.

Their ways of dying were all different; some were crushed, some were torn apart, and some had their entire bodies "folded" by some power into impossible geometric shapes.

A masterpiece of spatial distortion.

And in the very center of this huge cavity, Su Zhiruo's breathing stopped.

A ball.

A white sphere, about five hundred meters in diameter, was suspended in the very center of the cavity, about one thousand meters above the ground.

The surface of the sphere was smooth and flawless, emitting a soft white-gold radiance. The radiance was not blinding; instead, it had a hypnotic quality that made one sleepy.

But there was actually something moving inside the sphere.

Through the translucent white shell, one could see a mass of light and shadow inside that constantly changed shape. Sometimes it looked like a human figure, sometimes like a beast, sometimes unfolding into wings, and sometimes contracting into a spherical shape.

It was gestating. Or rather, it was growing.

Pandora's entire snake body stood up, its single eye staring at the white sphere, its body trembling violently, but this time it wasn't from fear.

Its thoughts were transmitted into Luo Yu's mind with crystal clarity:

"Egg."

"That is an egg."

"Hunter... a Hunter's egg."

Luo Yu and Su Zhiruo exchanged a look.

The High-Dimensional Hunter hadn't returned to cause trouble for Earth.

It had chosen another way.

It had—laid an egg in the Abyss World.

Looking around, the five-hundred-meter-diameter white sphere hung quietly in the very center of the cavity.

The white-gold radiance on its surface brightened and dimmed, at a rhythm that was neither fast nor slow, pulsing rhythmically, almost in sync with the rhythm of a heartbeat.

Luo Yu stared at that thing for a full half-minute without making a sound.

Su Zhiruo didn't speak either.

Mothra hovered in mid-air, the vibration frequency of her wings dropped to the minimum, her golden eyes locked onto the sphere without blinking, and the scales on her body had stopped drifting away, though she didn't know when that happened.

Even Godzilla was quiet.

Its 1,900-meter-tall body stood at the bottom of the cavity, its vertical pupils fixedly staring at the egg emitting white-gold radiance above its head.

It didn't roar. It didn't breathe out gas. It didn't even wag its tail.

In the entire thirty-kilometer-wide underground space, only the fluorescent glow reflected from the purple crystal rock walls and the pulsing frequency of the egg remained.

"This thing... how old is it?" Luo Yu asked curiously.

Pandora twisted around his sleeve, its single eye fixed on the egg, the thoughts it transmitted were fragmented to the extreme.

"Don't know... maybe a long time... maybe just now... High-Dimensional time is different..."

"The 'Hunters' on your side, do they usually lay eggs like this?"

Pandora's body stiffened for a moment.

"Not lay... it is 'seeding'... Hunters arrive in a new place... will leave seeds... when the seed grows up, the new place is the Hunter's..."

Seeding. Leaving seeds.

Luo Yu chewed on these two words, piecing together a picture in his mind: A High-Dimensional Hunter discovers a new world, cannot conquer it or is too lazy to, so it just throws an egg in. Once the egg hatches and the larva grows up, the whole world automatically becomes its colony.

Easy. Efficient. Same approach as humans throwing a national flag onto a new continent, except the flagpole was replaced by an egg.

"The problem is."

Luo Yu tilted his chin toward the egg, "Why did it lay the egg in the Abyss World?"

Pandora's answer was quick this time.

"Lost?"

Luo Yu was stunned for a second.

"Lost?"

"Hiss hiss... the channels between high-dimensional and low-dimensional are hard to find... sometimes go the wrong way... find what is not wanted... maybe originally wanted to find yours... missed the mark... fell here..."

The High-Dimensional Hunter in Antarctica, after having its two hands blown off by Godzilla and its spatial channel burned through, fled in panic. The beacon was also crushed, and Earth's coordinates were completely lost.

It wanted to find Earth again.

But the spatial structure between the high-dimensional world and the low-dimensional world was far more complex than humans imagined. Once the coordinates were lost, it was like looking for a grain of sand on the ocean without GPS.

So it searched and searched, searched and searched.

It didn't find Earth.

It found the Abyss World.

An alien world connected to Earth's wormhole, filled with abyss energy.

It couldn't enter Earth, but it could enter the Abyss.

After entering the Abyss, it left an egg.

The mission of this egg was simple: hatch, grow, occupy, and turn the Abyss World into an outpost for the high-dimensional civilization.

Then, from the Abyss side, follow the residual traces of the wormhole to find Earth.

A circuitous route to save the nation.

"Good plan."

Luo Yu finished integrating the information transmitted by Pandora and reached this conclusion.

Su Zhiruo listened, her expression very subtle.

"So the three kings of the abyss withdrew the giant beasts and gave up the path for us to come over because... a pigeon flew into their lair, they couldn't drive it away, so they called me to help fight."

"That's pretty much what it means." Luo Yu shrugged: "The The Three Kings suffered losses from me and had their territory snatched by a high-dimensional being. They were squeezed from both sides, couldn't beat the high-dimensional one, and didn't want to be a colony of the high-dimensional, so they just opened the door wide and let Godzilla in to clean up."

"In other words..."

"In other words, we are now the foreign aid invited by the three kings of the abyss." Luo Yu laughed, "A bit ironic."

The cavity was silent for a few seconds.

Then, a very untimely sound broke the silence.

"Hiss!"

Godzilla's tail swung up.

Luo Yu was too familiar with that swing; it wasn't vigilance, it wasn't excitement, it was greed.

Pure, instinctive greed—the kind where you see something good and want to stuff it into your mouth.

Godzilla stared at the five-hundred-meter white egg, the white-gold radiance reflected in its golden vertical pupils, its mouth opening and closing, closing and opening.

It licked the corner of its mouth with its tongue.

"Godzilla."

Luo Yu looked at it.

"Hiss."
