215: Chapter 214 Dawn

Three days after the High-Dimensional Hunter was eliminated.

The spatial rifts of the world's seven major wormholes have completed their natural repair, and the dimensional barriers have returned to a stable state.

Luo Yu asked the Dragon State Research Institute to conduct a comprehensive inspection. The spatial coordinate signal released by the High-Dimensional Hunter upon its death was burned to ashes by Godzilla's Stellar Domain, with no residual energy leaking into high-dimensional space.

The high-dimensional world has permanently lost Earth's coordinates.

This news was announced to the world by the Dragon State Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Geneva.

The press conference was silent for six seconds.

Then, applause rang out.

The applause lasted for seven minutes.

Luo Yu did not go to Geneva.

He returned to Modu University.

The East Sea Defense Line is not far from Modu University, about a four-hour drive.

Luo Yu did not take a car.

He had Godzilla shrink to thirty centimeters and perch on his shoulder, while Mothra shrunk to fifteen centimeters and perched on his other shoulder. Pandora was wrapped around his wrist like a bracelet.

Su Zhiruo walked with him.

The two of them walked from the main gate of the East Sea Defense Line to Modu University.

A four-hour journey.

On the way, they encountered many citizens who recognized him.

Some asked for autographs, some wanted photos, and a few elderly ladies chased him for two blocks, wanting him to marry their daughters.

Luo Yu responded with a smile throughout, feeling more exhausted than he did during press conferences when he was a Marshal.

By the time they reached the school gate, it was getting dark.

The gate of Modu University hadn't changed. It had been renovated once after the last graduation ceremony, and a golden plaque was mounted on the gatepost: Dragon State Modu Awakener University.

The Elderly Security Guard saw Luo Yu, pushed up his reading glasses, and squinted for a long time.

"Student Luo? You haven't picked up your replacement diploma yet."

"Well, here I am."

"Did you bring the Materials?"

"What Materials?"

"Credit Confirmation Form, supervisor's signature, and the department stamp. All three, not one can be missing."

Luo Yu turned to look at Su Zhiruo.

Zhiruo turned her head away, her shoulders shaking.

In the end, it was the principal himself who ran to the security room to pick them up, explaining along the way that the diploma had been ready for a long time, just waiting for Luo Yu to sign for it in person.

In the principal's office,

the specially numbered diploma was kept in a rosewood box.

After Luo Yu signed,

he held it and looked at it for a moment.

"Legendary Graduate."

Gold-embossed.

It looked even better than a Marshal's commission.

"Luo Yu."

The principal stood behind his desk, hesitating to speak several times.

"What is it, Principal?"

The principal took off his glasses, wiped them, and put them back on.

"The school wants to hire you as a lifetime honorary professor. No office hours, no teaching required... just come back to visit during holidays and give a few words to the freshmen."

Luo Yu looked down at Godzilla on his shoulder. Godzilla narrowed his vertical pupils, his thirty-centimeter mini-body lying on the epaulet: "Sure."

The principal let out a long breath.

The two most nervous conversations in his life: one was when he applied for school construction funds back then, and the other was now.

"But there's one condition," Luo Yu said suddenly.

The principal's heart skipped a beat again.

"In the future, have the cafeteria prepare more Nuclear-Powered Malatang. Godzilla loves it."

The principal almost fell back into his chair.

By the time they left the principal's office, it was completely dark.

The streetlights were lit on the Modu University campus.

The shadows of the sycamore trees fell on the floor tiles. Students walked past from the direction of the library, recognizing Luo Yu as they passed, covering their mouths to keep from crying out.

Luo Yu walked along the tree-lined path, with Su Zhiruo following beside him.

After walking for a while,

"Luo Yu."

"Yeah?"

"What do you plan to do next?"

Luo Yu thought for a moment.

"First, finish up the base construction in the Abyss. Then return to the East Sea to build a dedicated rest area for Godzilla. The previous one was too small; his three-thousand-six-hundred-meter body couldn't fit at all."

"And then?"

"And then..."

He looked up at the sky.

The sky over Modu wasn't very dark due to the city lights, and a few scattered stars could be seen.

"And then, take a look at the Universe?"

Su Zhiruo didn't respond.

The two of them reached the square in front of the teaching building.

"Let's go," Luo Yu turned around.

Su Zhiruo followed.

The two of them went out the back gate of Modu University and onto the elevated bridge toward the East Sea.

The streetlights on the bridge illuminated the straight road ahead.

Luo Yu walked with his hands in his pockets, his pace neither fast nor slow.

The thirty-centimeter Godzilla on his shoulder was already asleep. The tiny puffs of hot air from his nostrils turned into two wisps of white smoke in the night wind, breathing in and out rhythmically.

Mothra also closed her eyes, her golden wings covering Godzilla like a blanket.

Pandora had shrunk into a bracelet, her single eye slightly closed, quiet and still.

Su Zhiruo walked beside him, a few strands of her hair ruffled by the wind.

"Luo Yu."

"Mm."

"The stars are quite bright today."

Luo Yu looked up.

Just a few ordinary stars.

But in the future, he and Godzilla would go to those stars to take a look.

"They are quite bright."

The two of them walked a long way on the elevated bridge.

Behind them,

the lights of Modu University gradually turned into a small cluster of orange dots of light.
