108: Little boss, it’s great!

The super spicy fatty intestine noodles, fresh out of the pot, were in absolutely perfect condition.

On the amber-colored noodles were scattered caramel-colored chili flakes, along with pristine white minced garlic, vibrant green scallions, and chopped cilantro.

Curled peppercorns floated in the red oil, and a few dark red ginger shreds drifted at the edges like withered maple leaves.

With just a gentle sniff, the numbing aroma of Sichuan peppercorns, the smoky scent of dried chilies, and the fresh fragrance of scallions and cilantro all mingled together, wafting directly into the nasal cavity.

If one used chopsticks to push aside the red and green chilies covering the surface, they could see the “main characters” underneath.

The noodles, piled high like a small mountain, were each coated in glossy sauce; just looking at them, one could feel the astonishing chewiness contained within.

The crescent-shaped fatty intestine pieces had an even caramelized color on their skin, every inch gleaming with a beautiful oily sheen.

And as the hand moved, the red soup also swayed.

At this point, steam, infused with spiciness, escaped from the rim of the bowl, condensing into a white mist in mid-air, mixed with the fresh scent of scallions and the smoky aroma of pork fat, making the entire bowl glow.

Zhu Xinlei gazed at the magnificent sight in the bowl, then looked up to find that everyone else had already started eating.

Hearing the “slurp, slurp” of noodles being eaten, the gluttonous worms in her stomach finally couldn’t resist protesting.

“Gulp!”

After the sound of swallowing, her chopsticks, no longer able to resist, reached into the red soup and picked up a plump, juicy piece of fatty intestine.

“Awoo!”

With one bite, her mouth automatically began to chew.

The crispy outside and soft inside texture of the fatty intestine was so captivating that she couldn’t help but narrow her eyes, quietly immersing herself in the beauty of the moment.

Just then, the girl beside her suddenly let out a joyful shriek.

“Oh my god, these mildly spicy super spicy fatty intestine noodles really aren’t spicy at all when you eat them!”

“There are so many chilies sprinkled in this soup, and it smells very spicy, but once it enters your mouth, it’s unexpectedly mellow and smooth, neither choking nor burning your throat.”

“And what’s even more amazing is that after swallowing, there’s no uncomfortable burning sensation in your stomach at all; your belly feels warm and very comfortable. How is this even possible?!”

Hearing this, Zhu Xinlei couldn’t help but smile knowingly.

After she packed it up and took it home yesterday, she saw a full layer of chilies floating on the soup noodles, which looked quite intimidating.

She was apprehensive for quite a while then.

Finally, she couldn’t resist the incredibly tempting aroma, and with her roommate constantly egging her on, she took a small taste.

The result of that one bite was that she was completely hooked. At the time, one phrase kept repeating in her mind:

Little Boss, you’re the best!

The mildly spicy super spicy fatty intestine noodles are absolutely amazing!

At this moment, in a corner on the third floor of the Talent Market.

Lu Yu was already dizzy with hunger, barely holding on by a thread as he finished interviewing the last job seeker.

He checked the time and saw that it was already one in the afternoon.

“At this hour, the breakfast stalls downstairs are probably all gone, right?”

Ever since eating that “improved” version of fatty intestine noodles yesterday, he had developed a phobia of the Sichuan restaurant he usually frequented.

Although it wasn't the owner's fault, he had good intentions.

But bad food is bad food; there's no way to defend it!

“Or, should I order takeout?”

Lu Yu thought to himself as he walked towards the window, still not giving up hope.

He then leaned out to look down, trying to see if any breakfast stalls were still there.

“Huh?”

That one glance made him let out a soft “huh.”

“There’s still a breakfast stall! And why are so many girls gathered in front of it?”

Realizing that there might be a good snack stall downstairs, Lu Yu immediately got excited.

Without another word, he picked up his phone and hurried towards the elevator.

But halfway there, he remembered the old elevator, which always took forever.

He quickly changed direction and ran towards the stairs next to him.

“So hungry, so hungry!”

“Heaven help me, I hope the snack stall sells spicy food. I won’t even hope for dan dan noodles, sweet water noodles, red oil wontons, fatty intestine noodles… wait, cross out fatty intestine noodles…”

Mentioning fatty intestine noodles, he remembered that “extraordinary” lunch from yesterday, and his face turned a bit ashen again.

Lu Yu quickly shook his head, trying to shake that terrible memory out of his mind.

Fifty seconds later, he finally ran down the stairs.

Pushing open the fire door, the first thing he did was sniff hard with his nose, trying to distinguish the food aroma mixed in the air.

The stairwell wasn't far from that breakfast stall, so normally he should be able to smell the wafting aroma.

Sure enough, after inhaling a mouthful of the musty, smoky smell of the stairwell, a fresh, spicy, and numbing scent immediately rushed into his nasal cavity.

Smelling this aroma, Lu Yu’s spirits instantly lifted, and his eyes lit up.

“Such a fragrant spicy aroma!”

Stimulated by the scent, his mouth instinctively salivated, and his steps quickened a few paces.

“Just around the next corner, I’ll be able to see that snack stall! Just one turn and I’ll be there…”

Lu Yu excitedly rounded the corner and looked sharply towards the snack stall.

That one glance almost made his eye twitch.

The unspoken “there” was stuck at the corner of his mouth, unable to be uttered for a long time.

“Ho… how could it be him?”

Lu Yu remembered his conversation with the young stall owner yesterday, and a wave of absurdity washed over him.

“Saying he only sells to people preparing for interviews?”

“What kind of crazy person would say something like that?”

“But why are so many girls willing to abide by such an outrageous demand?”

Lu Yu really couldn’t understand.

The more he pondered, the stronger the sense of displacement in his heart became.

“So, is it me who’s crazy, or are all these people crazy?”

“I can’t tell, I can’t tell!”

Lu Yu, muttering “I can’t tell,” looked at the girls slurping noodles for a moment, then at the stall owner packing up his stall, his expression somewhat disoriented.

It wasn't until the girls finished eating, smiled, and bid farewell to the stall owner, and the stall owner was about to get into his car to leave, that Lu Yu’s stomach suddenly rumbled.

His stomach, hungry for too long, finally lost its temper with him.

Lu Yu looked up at the sky, and under the torment of hunger, he finally made a decision.

He raised his hand with determination and shouted to the stall owner.

“Wait for me! I want to buy noodles!”

Lu Chuan, who had already gotten into his car, twitched his mouth, then looked at the bald uncle running towards him.

“No way, again?”

He could only get out of the car again and set up his stall.

By this time, Lu Yu had also run up to the stall.

“Boss, I want to buy noodles!”

Although he didn't know why Lu Yu felt the need to emphasize it again, Lu Chuan still smiled and nodded, then prepared to announce the purchasing guidelines.

Lu Yu, however, had already raised his phone and showed a text message with an interview notification.

Lu Chuan was surprised. He quickly glanced at the text message, then shifted his gaze to Lu Yu.

It was only then that he realized the person in front of him seemed somewhat familiar.
