435: True or False Destiny

Within the True Dragon Clan's territory.

The True Dragon Clan had, of course, detected the faint, elusive trace of an unfamiliar Qi fluctuation from their own Back Mountain.

Given the frequent harassment from foreign races recently, suspecting it might be a diversion tactic, they did not investigate deeply and merely increased their vigilance.

Until today.

The Sacred Abode, the Sacred Heir Fate Officer's Pavilion.

Long Yue, seated in meditation at the center of an ancient Formation, suddenly opened her tightly shut eyes!

"The aura of the Sacred Relic... the Child of Destiny has arrived!"

Without a moment's hesitation, and without any need for preparation.

Ever since the shadow of destiny appeared in the mirror, she had been preparing for this moment.

Long Yue stood up abruptly, her gorgeous palace dress billowing as if stirred by an unfelt wind.

She walked out of the pavilion, her clear, cold, and authoritative voice instantly spreading throughout the entire Sacred Abode:

"Dragon Guards, heed my command!"

The elite Dragon Clan guard unit, already standing ready, swiftly formed ranks, an aura of solemn killing intent permeating the air.

Standing at the head of the Formation, Long Yue transformed into a stream of golden light, charging first towards the Back Mountain, towards that ancient battlefield designated as a Forbidden Ground.

Behind her, a hundred Dragon Guards followed closely, the friction of their scales audible, their Dragon Aura faintly manifesting.

During the swift journey, Long Yue's inner thoughts were far from as calm as her outward appearance.

In truth, although she had acted cool and resolute before Long Yin, deep down, regarding the 'Child of Destiny' she was about to meet, she always harbored an indescribable trace of unease and apprehension.

"What will the Child of Destiny be like?"

"If it's a Dragon Maiden, that would be better. Communication might be easier..."

"But if it's a male, that's not necessarily bad either. A union of Bloodlines, giving birth to an heir, would be more beneficial for the clan's revival... However..."

"Does he already have a beloved? Will he agree with the True Dragon Clan's ideals? Is his temperament gentle or tyrannical..."

Countless thoughts flashed through Long Yue's mind.

So much so that her fingers, clasped in front of her, had turned slightly pale from the force of her grip, her fingertips trembling with an imperceptible tremor.

Such unease.

But this was only natural.

After all, that was the being to whom she would dedicate her entire life, entrust everything, and even jointly conceive the next generation.

"A destined partner... I hope he suits my taste."

Carrying such complex and tumultuous emotions, Long Yue led the Dragon Guards and quickly arrived at the edge of the ancient battlefield on the Back Mountain.

From afar, she saw the Sacred Relic standing on the ground.

The ancestral return dragon egg.

Long Yue took a deep breath, suppressing all distracting thoughts.

She did not rush to land. First, she ordered part of her force to spread out for vigilance, and only then did she slowly descend.

Although she had imagined countless possibilities on the way, when she truly saw the scene below clearly, she still felt a measure of surprise.

Beside the dragon egg, there was no expected bewildered, curious, or tense Child of Heavenly Mandate.

There were only two people.

A young man in black robes, with an aura of unfathomable depth.

Casually sitting on a large rock, his expression calm, as if merely resting there.

And beside him, crouched a girl of exquisite beauty, seemingly not of this mortal world, curiously fiddling with something on the ground with her small hands, as if she had been waiting for a long time.

Detecting someone descending from above.

The girl immediately looked up. Her pair of clear, golden Dragon Eyes glanced at Long Yue, then, as if seeking a sense of security, she leaned closer to the man's side and offered her small hand to him.

The man naturally took the girl's hand, giving it a light pat as if to reassure her.

This scene was unlike any scenario Long Yue had imagined.

No excitement, no probing, no reverent worship of the Sacred Relic.

Only an eerie calm.

While quickly adjusting her long-prepared speech in her heart, Long Yue led the Dragon Guards and slowly landed on the ground.

'The ancestral return dragon egg is here. Without a doubt, he is the Child of Destiny.'

In her view.

Although this man's aura was deep and restrained, the faintly discernible ancient and noble Dragon Aura, along with that commanding presence of being in a dominant position.

Better matched her imagination of 'Destiny'.

Rather, it was simply perfect.

This is what the Child of Destiny should be like!

This is the bearing my future partner should have!

Thinking of this.

Long Yue stepped forward, one step at a time.

She stopped about three steps away from Qin Wangchuan.

Then, the gazes of the Dragon Guards behind her suddenly froze.

Under the incredulous stares of everyone—this Sacred Heir Fate Officer, who had never shown favor to anyone, slowly lifted the hem of her gorgeous and intricate dress, bent her knees, and actually knelt before Qin Wangchuan.

Such a breathtakingly beautiful woman, yet now kneeling before him with a posture of near-submissive docility.

From Qin Wangchuan's From a high vantage point perspective, he could perfectly take in the graceful curves outlined by the palace dress and the prominent, alluring cleavage made even more visible by the kneeling posture.

The visual impact was utterly lethal.

However, Qin Wangchuan's gaze did not linger on that tempting scenery.

Looking downward, he caught a more subtle detail—

Both knees.

If he remembered correctly, in the simulation, Long Yue had performed a single-knee salute to Long Yin.

On the original path, for Long Yue.

Long Yin appeared too immature, and his aura wasn't particularly powerful either.

So although she respected Long Yin, before he entered the dragon egg for metamorphosis, he was not the one she was meant to serve.

Long Yue was waiting for the Child of Destiny; she served the Dragon Ancestor.

Therefore, her attitude towards Long Yin was more of a procedural respect.

But Qin Wangchuan was different.

This was how Long Yue imagined the Child of Destiny should be.

"I pledge my allegiance to you, Child of Destiny."

Long Yue raised her head, her stunning face filled with solemnity and piety, her voice clear and resolute, "My name—Long Yue."

"I am the Sacred Heir Fate Officer of the True Dragon Clan, in charge of the clan's core Legacy and internal Fate Officer affairs."

"From this day forward, everything I am belongs to you."

"Our union, the offspring we will bear in the future, shall become the hope for the clan's continuation and resurgence."

Her words were direct, the temptation laid bare.

Offering herself, her duty, and the future of her clan, all bundled together.

Yet Qin Wangchuan's expression remained unchanged, and he caught a crucial piece of information from it.

'Unable to distinguish? Because of the refined Ancestral Dragon Blood within me?'

Thinking this, he did not respond. Instead, he gently pulled Dragon Gauze, who was beside him, to stand in front of him.

"You've mistaken the person."

He said in a flat tone, "This one here is the Child of Destiny you spoke of."

After speaking, he casually raised his hand and pointed to the nearby ancestral return dragon egg.

Meaning: Don't waste time; handle the main matter first.

"Mistaken... the person?"

Long Yue was stunned, obvious bewilderment appearing on her beautiful face for the first time.

She had naturally sensed the pure and ancient True Dragon aura emanating from the girl.

But compared to that, the faintly discernible Dragon Aura emanating from Qin Wangchuan's body felt even more ancient, even more profound.

Like an undercurrent surging beneath an abyssal sea, silent, yet more oppressive.

"Wait, how does he know about the Child of Destiny?"

A thought flashed through Long Yue's mind.

But delving into that now was meaningless.

First, bring the person back; everything will become clear.

She quickly collected her thoughts, shifted her gaze to the ancestral return dragon egg, reached out to touch the invisible barrier, and explained:

"Due to external impact and the Yao Race's Seal, the Sacred Relic has entered a deep state of self-defense."

"Removing the core Seal is not difficult, but it requires the use of the clan's Holy Land. I must ask you both to move..."

As she spoke, Long Yue subconsciously glanced back, wanting to see Qin Wangchuan's reaction.

Only to see that Qin Wangchuan had already taken Dragon Gauze's hand and walked forward a few steps.

Noticing her gaze, Qin Wangchuan stopped, turned his head slightly, and glanced at her.

That gaze was calm and unrippled, yet seemed to see through everything.

"Let's go."

He said.

Just two simple words, yet carrying an undeniable sense of control.

Long Yue was slightly taken aback.

The string of vigilance pulled taut in her heart did not relax. Instead, it became subtly entangled with a deeper curiosity.

Powerful, mysterious, as if everything is under his control.

Who... is he exactly?

After a moment of silence, she finally nodded.

"Please follow me."
