Chapter 60 Let the Light Go Around It

Satisfied, Li Jiajun hung up the video call with the kid whose ID was Long Aoao. He let out a long sigh of relief and collapsed back into his newly purchased ergonomic executive chair, his face beaming with a sense of fulfillment and sanctity, as if he had finally "returned to the right path."

He felt that he had found the next product for the toy factory and a new direction for his life.

"Like I always say, as long as my client is an honest person, my inventions will absolutely never develop in a strange direction."

Li Jiajun stared at the ceiling and once again entered that self-indulgent narration mode, unconsciously muttering to himself: "This is the Light of the Right Path! A toy car for children—what a pure, innocent, and safe category of toy! It's not like that drone from last time where the client looked like a one-way ticket to jail, which almost led me astray too. So, the root of the problem isn't me, it's the client!"

His logically rigorous and well-organized self-affirmation once again set the bullet chat in the stream ablaze.

"Main Streamer, you're at it again! I'm begging you, can you stop setting flags? I'm getting scared just listening to you!"

"The 'Honest Person Law,' is it? I bet this car ends up in a military court!"

"Stop messing around upstairs, what could possibly happen with a toy car?"

"Toy cars themselves are illegal, (funny face)"

"Have you guys noticed? Every time the Main Streamer mutters things like this, he sounds exactly like a movie villain who's about to retire after one last job, only to have his house raided the next day."

Li Jiajun glanced at the bullet chat and snorted at the pessimistic comments from these Netizens.

A bunch of commoners. They didn't understand the craftsmanship of a high-end toy designer like him. Their level of thinking was too low; they always used the worst malice to speculate about a toy full of childhood innocence. They were simply beyond saving.

He cleared his throat, sat up straight again, and said to the camera with a serious face: "family, today's stream is about researching how to meet the needs of our 'Little Car King.' There are two core technical challenges. First, it must be the fastest. Second, it must not be discovered by his parents."

"Speed is easy to solve; it's just a matter of motor power and energy modules. For me, that's a piece of cake," Li Jiajun waved his hand with an expression that said 'just standard procedure, no need to be impressed.' He then rubbed his chin and fell into thought. "The key is the second one: how can we keep it from being discovered by his parents? This is a question worth deep thought. Of course, I'll put effort into the first one too, but let's talk about the second one first."

He began pacing in the office, constantly muttering various plans as if he were a great scientist tackling a problem of the century.

"How about a camouflage paint job? Paint it the color of a lawn, and it won't be easily spotted if it's parked on grass. Hmm... that idea works, but it's not cool enough. What if his house doesn't have a lawn and instead has those high-end marble tile floors imported from Italy? Then my lawn camo would be like a firefly in the dark, practically begging his parents to see it. Scrapped! Scrapped!"

"Or... give the car a foldable structure? When not in use, it folds into a suitcase? That seems interesting, but it's still not 'stealthy' enough. For a kid, you want that sense of mystery where it appears and disappears out of thin air! A suitcase is still too deliberate."

Watching him circle the office like a headless fly, the tens of thousands of Netizens in the stream also began to offer suggestions.

"Main Streamer, why don't you put some big suction cups on the bottom of the car so it can stick to the ceiling? I guarantee his parents will just think it's a newly bought chandelier!"

"Dig a tunnel in the garage that leads directly outside the neighborhood! That's the ultimate solution!"

"Think bigger! Just put wings on the car and fly it out the window! His parents can't be looking at the sky every day, right?"

Li Jiajun looked at these increasingly ridiculous bullet chat messages, his mouth twitching in speechless frustration.

'Sure enough, this group of useless Netizens can't provide any serious suggestions besides making memes.'

He stopped walking, shook his head, and decided to ignore these "idiotic comments" to find some inspiration on his own. He casually turned on the huge LCD TV in the office, wanting to watch something to relax and cleanse his brain of the Netizens' pollution.

The TV happened to be on a documentary channel, and a deep, magnetic narration began to play:

"Deep in the rainforests of Madagascar lives the planet's top master of disguise—the Chameleon. They can change the color of their skin according to changes in the environment, blending into the background to evade predators and silently approach prey."

On the screen, a Chameleon was perched on a moss-covered branch, its skin displaying a mottled green and brown that was almost identical to the branch. A few seconds later, it slowly crawled onto a bright red flower. The pigment cells in its skin began to undergo a miraculous change, and its body color shifted from mottled green to a bright red indistinguishable from the petals at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Li Jiajun had been watching listlessly, but when he saw this scene, his eyes suddenly went wide.

It was as if he had been struck by an invisible bolt of lightning. He stood frozen in place, his mind racing at high speed.

Evading predators...

Not being discovered...

Blending into the environment...

'Right! Why didn't I think of that!'

An idea exploded in his mind!

'Physical covers and camouflage paint are too low-level! A true master makes others look at you but not see you! Isn't this exactly the ‘Hide and Seek’ mode that little Long Aoao needs most?'

The more he thought about it, the more excited he became. He felt he had grasped a thread of truth, and the excitement made his scalp tingle.

At that very moment!

Ding! [You watched a Chameleon hunting, engaged in deep thought regarding optical camouflage, and gained an epiphany for the basic theory of 'Multilayer Nanostructured Negative Refraction Optical Stealth Coating'!]

The next second, a massive flood of knowledge, as brilliant as a galaxy of stars, instantly surged into Li Jiajun's mind!

Maxwell's equations, Kramers-Kronig relations, metamaterials, photonic crystals, negative refractive index... countless terms and formulas he had seen in university physics textbooks but never fully understood became crystal clear in this moment, combining into a brand-new theoretical system in a way he could fully comprehend!

'So that's how it is... by designing specific nanostructural units and artificially controlling the dielectric constant and magnetic permeability of the material to make them both negative in a specific frequency band, negative refraction of electromagnetic waves can be achieved... Light... light can really bend around!'

Li Jiajun's eyes sparkled. He slapped his thigh and shouted excitedly to the stream in a feverish tone like someone discovering a new continent: "family! I've got it! I've figured out how to make that toy car 'disappear'!"

He rushed to the whiteboard, grabbed a marker, and began rapidly sketching complex molecular structures while shouting without looking back: "Forget sticking it to the ceiling or flying it out! To not be discovered, we naturally have to make the light make way for this car!"
