164: Chapter 164 Abandoned Unfinished Building 17

After all, a player had just died, so the Tattooed Man asked the boy wearing floral shorts, "What exactly happened back there? How did the Messy-Haired Man fall?"

The boy in floral shorts still looked pale; he had exerted all his strength trying to grab the Messy-Haired Man, so he was inevitably feeling exhausted now.

He sighed, "I don't know either. Didn't we say we were going to the floor above to find a way down? We were turning around together when I suddenly heard the Messy-Haired Man screaming for help behind me."

"When I looked back, that guy already had one hand clinging desperately to the corner of the railing, and his whole body was about to fall."

Since the Messy-Haired Man had previously said he slipped by accident, the other players had no choice but to helplessly accept this fact.

However, the Gentle Man with Glasses was actually a bit suspicious; the end of the black iron railing might have been tampered with by the Psychopathic murderer, perhaps by smearing some oil on it or something similar.

Otherwise, as an experienced player who had cleared several games, the Messy-Haired Man shouldn't have made such a low-level mistake, right?

But now, no matter what was said, it was all to no avail. The few players discussed what to do next amidst sighs.

They had come back to find a way to the First Floor, and theoretically, they should have split up to look for clues.

But after everything they had been through, even with them walking together, a player had still died just like that—not to mention the Psychopathic murderer lurking in the shadows, waiting for an opportunity.

If they really split up, there was no telling if they would be picked off one by one.

Therefore, after discussing it, the players decided to continue searching for a way to the First Floor together.

As they walked, the Tattooed Man said, "Let's look for something like a retractable ladder, or maybe some other emergency exit. I don't know if the workers who built this Abandoned Unfinished Building left any escape routes."

The boy in floral shorts sighed, "Sigh, if only the Messy-Haired Man's grappling hook prop hadn't disappeared along with his death. That grappling hook looked to be at least five meters long; it might have helped us get down."

The Gentle Man with Glasses frowned, "Stop thinking about things like that. We need to hurry and find a way out of here. No one knows if the collapse of the upper floors will affect the floors below."

Having said this, the other players mostly agreed. They began to search the floor room by room, from left to right, to see if there was anything they could use.

However, this was an Abandoned Unfinished Building, so basically none of the facilities had been installed yet. While looking for tools inside the building to help them get down, they were more concerned with whether there were any hidden passages concealed on this floor.

Luo Yuejian remained at the very back of the group.

She had originally planned to be at the front of the group, which would make it easier to trigger traps.

But later she realized that their purpose in coming to this floor was to find clues to get down, so the probability of encountering danger was probably not high.

With her heaven-defying luck, if she really walked at the very front, she might just step on a clue by accident.

The best choice now was to follow behind the crowd; even if there really was something ahead, at least she wouldn't be the one to discover it...

Luo Yuejian's psychological bottom line had lowered again and again...

So it was better for her to keep slacking off. If the other players couldn't find a way down, Luo Yuejian believed the commotion from the collapse above would sooner or later affect their side.

After all, this Abandoned Unfinished Building was full of shoddy construction work; there was no telling when it might collapse the ceiling of their floor.

Viewed this way, the longer they dragged things out on this floor, the better.

She still had to slack off, Luo Yuejian affirmed to herself.

After spending quite some time, the players searched for clues room by room.

Unfortunately, most of these rooms could be seen at a glance, and there were simply no tools worth using.

After finishing the last room, the Gentle Man with Glasses frowned and said to the other players, "Why don't we check the corridor? Maybe the real way down isn't in these rooms."

"I think that works. I've watched some TV shows where secret passages are usually behind walls," the Girl in Pink Jeans nodded and analyzed, "We can try knocking on the walls; if it sounds hollow, there might be something behind it."

This wasn't a bad idea, so the players immediately decided to take action.

The corridor was one long stretch, and by turning their heads, they could see the people on both sides. Therefore, the players no longer huddled together like they did when exploring the rooms, but spread out along the entire corridor, ensuring they could see the situation of every other player.

They spaced themselves out and began knocking on the walls as the Girl in Pink Jeans had suggested, trying to listen for anything unusual behind the walls.

They were pressing their ears against the walls to listen for movement behind them when, suddenly, a huge noise came from the floor above. A "rumbling" sound shook the heavens like thunder, making the players shiver.

"Did the floor above collapse?!" the Tattooed Man exclaimed.

They all looked up at the floor above in unison. Dust from above rained down, but since they were all concrete walls that hadn't undergone further finishing, no plaster or anything else fell down.

If nothing unexpected happened, it was likely that the three load-bearing beams above had collapsed.

The commotion was truly significant, and even the ground the players were standing on began to vibrate violently. The shaking nearly caused several of the players to fall. They hurriedly found something nearby to hold onto.

Next to Luo Yuejian was a dust-covered low cabinet standing against the wall. She instinctively grabbed the cabinet, fearing she might accidentally fall.

However, that fire cabinet wasn't nailed to the wall; it was simply standing there. Therefore, with the violent shaking of the ground and Luo Yuejian's body also swaying, the fire cabinet naturally tipped over.

Luo Yuejian really almost lost her footing, but fortunately, her Agility Instinct kicked in at that moment, allowing her to catch herself against the wall beside her.

The sound of the collapse above continued for a long time. The players were all a bit panicked, deeply worried that the collapse above might cause their floor to be affected as well.

And even if there were no problems above right now, no one knew when their floor might end up just like the one above.

After all, as a death trap meticulously set by the Psychopathic murderer, it was impossible for the players to be allowed to hide on this floor so easily.

The Gentle Man with Glasses knew this clearly, and a look of deep worry flashed in his eyes.

They couldn't just sit here and wait for death any longer!
