58: Chapter 58 Vampire Castle 14
The Tall fat man, who had just been cursing and swearing a moment ago, now mumbled and fell silent, his expression a mix of guilt and extreme wariness.
Previously, he had lost his composure because he was suddenly frightened, but now that he realized the White-haired Girl possessed such terrifying props, his temper instantly subsided.
He made excuses for himself in his mind, telling himself that he hadn't known the White-haired Girl blew the door open because a terrifying monster was hiding behind it.
Besides, if she really intended to take such extreme measures to solve the problem, couldn't she have given us a heads-up or said something beforehand?
The more he thought about it, the more he felt that all the blame should be placed on this mysterious White-haired Girl.
Although he had shifted all the responsibility onto her in the depths of his heart, he dared not show it on the surface at all; instead, he quietly hid at the back of the crowd, doing his best to minimize his presence.
Luo Yuejian did not notice the Tall fat man's actions. With several pairs of eyes staring straight at her, she felt stiff all over, cursing herself in her heart for blowing up the door just now.
She could have just opened the door step-by-step and immediately faced the jump scare, but she had to go and do something unnecessary!
Luo Yuejian was so angry her liver ached, and she felt like vomiting blood, but the top priority right now was how to get this group of players to stop looking at her.
Every time she saw the way these players looked at her, she felt like she was having a stroke. Her gaming career was already miserable enough; did she really have to endure praise she shouldn't have to bear?
The Gloomy Youth was the first to recover from the shock. His expression was somewhat unpleasant as he asked in a low voice, "How did you know there was a monster in there?"
Although he had known before that the White-haired Girl's observation and reasoning abilities were stronger than his, they were still thinking about how to open the door, while the White-haired Girl had already known there was a monster behind it and had taken action to deal with it without hesitation.
This was completely on a different level.
He felt a bit unwilling to accept this. In reality, he was a genius youth; although his personality wasn't great, he had never felt this kind of frustration before.
Luo Yuejian's expression was very calm, as if she had just done something trivial, and she had no intention of speaking.
In reality, she didn't know what to say either. Should she tell them she just wanted to use up a prop and incidentally screw over the players? She would be beaten to death on the spot.
She kept silent, and the scene became a bit awkward for a moment.
After a while, it was actually the White-collar Woman who spoke first. "I think the reason she could guess there was a dog on the Third Floor was because of the paintings on the wall."
She glanced at the White-haired Girl with an expression of awe. She had actually been secretly observing the White-haired Girl earlier, as the White-haired Girl's strength was unquestionable.
When they were going upstairs, she had noticed the White-haired Girl's gaze lingering on the portraits on the wall for a while; presumably, that was when the White-haired Girl discovered the clues.
Pausing for a moment, she collected her thoughts and continued, "If you look closely at those paintings, you should be able to see that every portrait hanging on the wall has a dog in it."
It was just that in some paintings, the dogs were hidden in relatively concealed positions. However, the White-collar Woman quite liked cats and dogs in reality and even kept two dogs at home, so she was more sensitive to elements involving small animals.
Hearing this, the other players looked at each other, expressions of sudden realization appearing on all their faces. They then turned in unison to walk back to the row of portraits and began to examine them again, just as the White-collar Woman had described.
Sure enough, after deliberately searching, it didn't take long for the other players to discover these details they hadn't noticed before.
The Stuttering Uncle was still a bit confused: "B-but the dogs in the paintings all look quite normal, h-how did you judge that it... it was a monster?"
The Gloomy Youth understood now and said with a dark face, "What kind of normal pet could a Vampire keep?"
"Besides, there's no need to judge. Your line of thinking must be to nip all danger in the bud," he looked sharply at Luo Yuejian, "Right?"
Luo Yuejian: ...?
Forget it, let them think whatever they want. Luo Yuejian had just missed a great opportunity to die because of her own ridiculous actions, and she was now in a state of having no desires or cravings.
Seeing that Luo Yuejian only remained cold and silent, the others were used to it. The Buzz-cut Man took a deep breath, "Let's go, we still need to find the key from the Third Floor to the 4th Floor."
After speaking, he carefully bypassed the body of the Three-headed dog that was blocking the doorway and walked inside.
The Third Floor was very different from the Second Floor before it. Upon stepping into this area, they immediately felt a strange atmosphere—this place was actually a complete and spacious area; looking at it, it felt like they were in the lair of that terrifying Three-headed dog.
Walking carefully inside and seeing the scene within, everyone finally realized why they had been able to smell such a pungent odor on the path leading to the Third Floor.
In every corner of this huge space, mountains of white bones were piled densely, so numerous that they were impossible to count.
These white bones had clearly been left here for a long time; the erosion of time had left their surfaces devoid of any color, presenting a withered, yellow, and shriveled appearance.
Seeing this scene, people couldn't help but gasp. One could imagine how long that Three-headed dog had suffered from hunger.
If Luo Yuejian hadn't taken the initiative back then and used explosives to blast that ferocious Three-headed dog into a comatose state, they would likely be facing the fangs of this terrifying beast right now.
Thinking of this, the Buzz-cut Man couldn't help but feel even more awe towards Luo Yuejian.
Because many places here were piled full of white bones, the players had no other choice but to bite the bullet and bypass these terrifying and disgusting bones to search for the key they wanted.
"Ah!"
The Buzz-cut Man suddenly let out a loud roar, startling everyone into looking over. They saw the Buzz-cut Man's face twisted in pain, curling up his body and bending down to tightly cover his right foot.
Everyone looked closely and couldn't help but gasp. An incredibly sharp black spike had pierced through the sole of his shoe and gone straight into his foot! Blood gushed out from the wound, staining the ground beneath his feet red.
The floor of the Third Floor was covered with the black fur of the Three-headed dog, and there were many pitch-black spikes stuck in between, the same kind they had seen on the Three-headed dog before.
But because the colors of the two were extremely similar and almost blended together, they hadn't noticed them at first; they hadn't expected that someone would be unlucky enough to fall for it so quickly.
