27: Chapter 27 Death Desert 10
Wolf-tail Guy's ears twitched, and his sharp gaze swept across the entire great hall.
Camo Uncle noticed Wolf-tail Guy's expression and grew secretly vigilant in his heart, asking, "What is it? Did you discover something wrong?"
Wolf-tail Guy nodded, "There is a sound."
A sound? The others were all somewhat surprised; they hadn't heard anything at all.
Camo Uncle had previously messed up due to his own carelessness, so he had become much more cautious. Upon hearing Wolf-tail Guy's words, although he hadn't heard anything either, he still became cautious.
He scanned his surroundings vigilantly, and his gaze finally landed on Glasses Man, who was still holding the drumstick in his hand and looking somewhat guilty. Camo Uncle frowned and said in a deep voice, "Why are you still holding that drumstick? Did you strike that stone drum again just now?"
Glasses Man's face turned slightly red, and he stammered for a moment before gathering his courage to say, "I just struck it a few times, nothing happened, right? I don't think there's any need to be this nervous..."
His voice grew quieter and quieter under Camo Uncle's gaze, and he eventually mumbled a few more times before falling silent.
Camo Uncle watched him for a while, gave a rare cold laugh, and was just about to say something when he heard two very distinct "hiss... hiss..." sounds.
Immediately after, the entire great hall trembled slightly. Camo Uncle's expression changed slightly, and he turned his head abruptly to see a stone door falling from above the opening they had entered through, which previously had no door.
The stone door slammed heavily onto the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. Just looking at the impact, one knew the weight of this stone door was definitely not trivial.
"What is going on!"
Before Camo Uncle could say anything else, everyone felt that the ceiling had suddenly started shaking down dust for some unknown reason.
Camo Uncle wiped the dust from his hair, looked up with an uneasy heart, and his expression changed drastically.
He saw that the huge golden dragon carving that had originally been coiled around the pillar standing in the great hall was actually starting to move slowly!
Its massive body rubbed against the pillar, causing the pillar to start trembling uncontrollably. The pillar itself was used to support this great hall, and now that it was being shaken by the giant dragon, it naturally caused the entire great hall to tremble as well.
Everyone was startled and immediately moved away from that pillar to hide in a corner against the wall.
"W-what is that?" Glasses Man's face was deathly pale, and his trembling voice wouldn't stop shaking.
"Damn it! I told you not to touch anything here!" Seeing such a massive giant dragon, Camo Uncle was no longer calm; blue veins bulged on his forehead as he glared angrily at Glasses Man.
Wolf-tail Guy said with a cold face, "Stop talking for now, find an exit as quickly as possible!"
Fortunately, because it had just awakened from a petrified state, the behemoth was currently still slowly rubbing itself against the pillar, gradually recovering its physical sensation, and had no time to pay attention to the few ants below.
Realizing this, everyone immediately began to panic and search for a new exit to this great hall. However, after one door was sealed, the entire great hall was like a Secret Room, making it difficult to find another exit.
After a while, listening to the "rustling" sound overhead becoming more frequent and rapid, Glasses Man sat on the ground in defeat and said in despair, "It's useless, there is no second exit here... This is a dead end, we will all die in... Ah!"
Before Glasses Man could finish speaking, he was slapped hard, his mouth filling with the taste of blood. He looked up in terror, only to see that Camo Uncle no longer had his usual kind face, but had become extremely cold and ruthless.
The ferocity that Camo Uncle had been hiding under his kind disguise finally revealed its true face in this land of despair.
Camo Uncle's eyes were filled with rage, and he said sternly, "I'm telling you, listen well! In the miracle game, there is no absolute dead end! If you keep acting like a wimp here, I don't need those things; I can kill you right now!"
Glasses Man was so scared that he covered his face and couldn't say a word, tears streaming down his face, his whole body trembling. After a while, a smell of urine appeared from beneath him.
Camo Uncle frowned in disgust, sneered coldly, and continued to search for an exit.
"Here." Wolf-tail Guy's calm voice instantly brought a surge of hope to everyone in the room. They immediately ran over to him, and even Glasses Man ran over, suppressing the shame and resentment in his heart and his wet pants. He looked at Wolf-tail Guy with expectant eyes.
"Did you find an exit?" Camo Uncle asked impatiently.
Wolf-tail Guy nodded and pointed to a wall inside the great hall, saying, "There is a door behind this wall."
Camo Uncle didn't ask how Wolf-tail Guy knew there was more to be found behind this wall, even though he had clearly tapped on every wall once before.
Camo Uncle frowned and asked, "Then what do we do? We don't have any materials to blast it open."
As soon as he finished speaking, amidst the astonished gazes of everyone, a "click" sound was heard, and this tightly blocked wall cracked open from the middle, then slowly opened...
What is going on? Why did this wall open by itself?
Even Wolf-tail Guy was puzzled. As if sensing something, he turned his head and saw White-haired Girl standing next to one of the pillars, her hand resting on a ruby on the pillar.
Luo Yuejian: Stiff all over.jpg
No, she just secretly wanted to get closer to the pillar so that when those dragons swam down, they could see her first and then help her achieve her wish!
Who could have thought that just after she approached the pillar with ill intent (bushi) and ulterior motives, the system in her mind would suddenly start sounding an alarm.
"Hum—hum—hum—, detected that the host has engaged in intentional suicidal behavior! Violation of the system's initial intent! Punishment will be issued immediately!"
The alarm sounding in her mind made it seem as if red alarm bells were appearing in Luo Yuejian's brain, startling her so much she almost covered her ears. Her hands flailed around in the air in a panic, and she felt something sink in under her palm.
Luo Yuejian looked at her palm in confusion and saw that the ruby that looked very valuable on the pillar beside her had actually been pressed down by her.
Luo Yuejian: ?
A rumbling sound came to her ears, and Luo Yuejian looked over in a daze, only to see that a secret passage had inexplicably opened where the others were standing.
Before she could ask anything, she saw the look of terror in the eyes of the people opposite her. Luo Yuejian instinctively turned her head and saw a pair of huge, yellow slit-pupiled eyes staring at her right in front of her.
Those eyes were exceptionally cold, and the cruel meaning contained within made one's heart tremble at a single glance, making one's legs go weak and uncontrollable.
The owner of those cold yellow eyes was not the solemn and intimidating golden dragon they had initially thought was just for decoration, but a six-legged, four-winged, massive, bizarre-looking, and fierce Mythical Serpent!
"Mythical Serpent..." Wolf-tail Guy in the distance behind her expression tightened, his voice cold.
The others didn't know what these monsters were, but Wolf-tail Guy knew clearly, and his eyes couldn't help but reveal a rare look of shock and gravity.
But he didn't have time to think about why these ferocious beasts had appeared here. Wolf-tail Guy shouted loudly at Luo Yuejian, "Get away from there quickly!"
At the same time, the system in Luo Yuejian's mind sounded an alarm again: "Beep—beep—because the host has intentionally sought death, causing the body to fall into a crisis, the system will temporarily take over the host's body until the danger is resolved before issuing punishment!"
