10: Merryweather's Highly Qualified Mercenaries

The engine of the dilapidated used car let out a final roar.

Stepping hard on the accelerator.

Joa's car shot out like an arrow from a bow.

Driving over the median and the green belt.

Joa, taking an unconventional route and avoiding traffic, quickly caught the attention of the Police.

Obvious violations, speeding.

But the speed gun in the Police car didn't sound an alarm.

This left the patrolling Police utterly confused.

For a moment, they were stunned, wondering whether to pursue.

“Lorna, was that you?”

“Hm? Just a small operation of the magnetic field.”

The obvious speeding behavior caused the Officer in the Police car to not hesitate, directly activating the siren, and following with a wail.

“Haha, it seems this little trick doesn't work on Officers who aren't blind.”

Turning off the headlights and activating colorblind mode.

Joa merged into traffic, driving quickly through the night with his excellent driving skills.

This made the Officer chasing him completely give up.

After reporting the last location of the speeding vehicle over the walkie-talkie.

The Officer chasing Joa completely lost track of Joa’s vehicle.

Unwillingly searching the road for more than ten minutes, the Officer, unable to find any trace of Joa’s vehicle, reluctantly turned off the Police lights.

Giving up the pursuit.

Los Santos.

Port.

After shaking off countless Police, Joa and Polaris arrived at Los Santos Port, getting out of the used car which was emitting black smoke from its hood.

With an arm resting on the car door, Polaris looked at Joa with a smile, teasing him.

“Tsk tsk, nice driving skills, but the car is a bit lacking.”

“Is that so? I actually think my car is the best car in the World.”

His words seemed normal, but combined with Joa’s half-smile and his gaze fixed on her.

Polaris immediately had a twisted thought.

With a light chuckle, Polaris walked fearlessly up to Joa and leaned close to his ear.

“Whether it’s yours, you don’t get to decide~”

Polaris showed no clear rejection or dislike, which made Joa happy.

Just as he was about to say something.

Gunshots suddenly rang out in the port, reaching their ears.

“Heh heh, there’s no escaping.”

It was unclear whether Joa was referring to the robbers or himself, but Polaris had a smile on her face.

“We shall see.”

The two, understanding each other implicitly, straightened their expressions and quickly headed towards the shootout location based on the sound of the gunshots.

Outside the warehouse.

Kingpin’s subordinates continuously rushed into the warehouse.

Attempting to eliminate all resisting Merryweather mercenaries inside, then occupy the warehouse and take the weapons.

“Damn Kingpin, does he think I’m easy to bully?”

Taking out an AK47 from his system space, Joa turned to look at Polaris.

“Can you use a gun?”

With a disdainful sneer.

Polaris spoke.

“Do you think I need that kind of thing?”

With a slight pursing of her lips, Polaris raised her hands with a fierce expression.

With a forceful wave.

In an instant.

The firearms held by Kingpin's men all backfired.

In an instant, the robbers suffered heavy losses, almost everyone’s faces and hands were severely injured.

Screams were incessant.

Looking at Joa with a hint of arrogance, Polaris slightly lifted her chin.

Seeing this, Joa’s eyes were filled with admiration and envy, and he did not stint on his praise.

“Big boss, you’re awesome!”

‘I’ve brought back a powerful ally!’

‘Tsk, after robbing a bank for some money, I need to improve my own strength through dungeons.’

‘The T-Virus from Resident Evil is good.’

‘However, it requires a lot of capital and time to research and develop, ensuring no side effects or dangers before it can be used on myself.’

Polaris easily solved the trouble for Joa.

This saved Joa a lot of time.

“Help me keep an eye on these people, I’ll go check on the goods in the warehouse.”

Upon hearing this, Polaris nodded, blocking all the robbers attempting to escape.

Arriving at the warehouse entrance, Joa did not rashly enter the warehouse.

If he rushed in and was mistaken for an enemy, getting focused fired by his own company’s mercenaries, it would be a huge joke.

“I am the new boss of Merryweather, the danger has been cleared.”

“Where are the warehouse managers?”

“What’s the situation inside?”

“How much cargo was lost?”

Hearing Joa’s shouts from outside the warehouse.

The mercenaries inside cautiously poked their heads out and looked towards the entrance.

“It seems no enemies have actually rushed in.”

“Officer, should we send someone out to check?”

Upon hearing this, the middle-aged tough guy, who was both the Instructor and Commander of these dozens of mercenaries guarding the warehouse, as well as the warehouse manager, spoke coldly.

“Send a few people to check the entrance, be careful of ambushes.”

“Yes, Officer!”

Receiving the order, this mercenary made a few gestures to his companions, who were guarding various positions in the warehouse and wearing night vision helmets.

Immediately, these dozen or so people, carrying standard carbine rifles, cautiously and vigilantly moved towards the entrance from different directions.

Concealed at the entrance, everyone quietly peeked out.

Seeing the heavily injured and panicked enemies outside, as well as Joa standing alone outside the warehouse.

The Merryweather mercenaries’ eyes were filled with uncontrollable shock.

‘How long has it been? All the enemies outside have been dealt with?’

Taking a deep breath, he continuously made gestures.

More than ten mercenaries walked out of the warehouse with their guns, surrounding Joa.

“I said… pointing your guns at your own boss.”

“Is that really polite?”

“I advise you to put down your guns first.”

“If that person over there mistakes you for enemies, tsk tsk, you’ll be in for a World of hurt.”

The Merryweather mercenaries completely ignored Joa’s words.

Then they sternly demanded.

“Who exactly are you?”

“How do you prove you’re our boss?”

Clicking his tongue, he scratched his head helplessly.

Joa dialed his female assistant’s number.

‘I need to find time to hold a meeting so my company’s mercenaries can get to know me.’

After the call connected, he informed the female assistant about the situation here.

In a moment.

The Instructor stationed at the warehouse quickly jogged over to Joa.

“Put them down! Quickly put your guns down! You idiots!”

“He is our boss!”

He scolded the mercenaries to put down their guns.

The Instructor looked at Joa with an apologetic expression.

“Sorry, Boss, they’re also just looking out for the warehouse’s safety.”

Waving his hand, Joa indicated that he didn't mind.

“Go arrest those robbers and interrogate them one by one. If you can’t get anything useful out of them.”

Joa made a throat-slitting gesture, and the Instructor immediately understood.

“Yes, Boss!”

Saluting Joa, the Instructor immediately shouted at the mercenaries.

“Didn’t you hear the Boss? Hurry up and get to it?”

The Instructor led the mercenaries, and a large group of them spread out to capture the heavily injured thugs sent by Kingpin to rob the warehouse.

In just a moment, all of Kingpin's men were captured and brought into the warehouse, where they were separately confined and interrogated.

Seeing the fully armed mercenaries, carrying dozens of kilograms of equipment yet seemingly unaffected in their movements, their actions clean and sharp.

Polaris came to Joa’s side with a look of surprise.

“Are these all your people?”

Polaris’s face was full of surprise, looking at Joa with new respect.

This pleased Joa greatly.

“How is it? Not bad, right?”

It was more than just not bad; the quality of these mercenaries was far superior to the Police and FIB who had once pursued her!

She truly hadn't expected that the company Joa mentioned he started.

Its employees were all highly skilled mercenaries?
