42: Black Light Warrior
He only devoured a small amount of Lorna's flesh and blood.
Joa sighed softly.
“It really doesn’t work.”
The X-gene contained in the flesh and blood was not enough.
To quickly gain Polaris's abilities, he would have to devour her entirely.
But how could Joa do that?
He had his own set of morals, but he wasn't a lunatic devoid of humanity.
Besides devouring the other party, the only other way was prolonged fluid exchange.
“This feeling… is so strange.”
After a portion of her flesh and blood was separated, her body immediately recovered.
How should Polaris describe this?
It was just… she felt less like a human.
Hearing Polaris’s words, Jill deeply empathized.
“You’re right, I feel like a monster now. I actually have an appetite for those zombies.”
Ignoring the two of them discussing their bodily changes, Joa absorbed all the zombie corpses the warriors had brought over earlier.
‘I didn’t feel any obvious evolution.’
‘But after absorbing the zombies, the bio-energy made me feel a slight increase in strength.’
He clenched his fists and looked around.
‘Raccoon City? No! It’s heaven!’
‘If only everyone in this World turned into zombies.’
If it were before, Joa might have done that.
But now…
Looking at Jill, who was carefully experiencing her body's changes with Polaris, Joa smiled and shook his head.
‘Anyway, I can cross over, so one more Resident Evil World doesn’t matter.’
With that thought, Joa began to consider how to increase the number of available dungeons for crossing.
‘The first three dungeons seemed to come with the system after I completed the mission and activated it.’
‘The latter three dungeons were added only after I completed the bank robbery mission.’
‘System, will three dungeons be added every time I complete a self-made mission?’
“Yes.”
Receiving an affirmative answer, Joa slowly nodded.
‘It seems I’ll have to do more missions in the Marvel Universe from now on.’
Before entering the Resident Evil World, he had tried to customize missions.
However, nothing related to dungeons could be issued as a mission.
If it were possible, Joa would have gained many more rewards from these two crossings.
He felt a slight regret, but he didn't pay too much attention to it.
After all, entering a dungeon was like going home to get something; he could fully prepare himself.
Choose a suitable time and place to enter and get what he wanted.
Therefore, the lack of system mission rewards was harmless.
He looked around and saw that the warriors were still waiting for his command.
Joa was very pleased.
Even Polaris and Jill felt fear towards him when they saw what happened just now.
So these warriors must have been scared to death as well.
But they were still waiting for his command.
This alone was enough to show their loyalty.
Joa would not shortchange them on rewards.
He alone might not be able to absorb all 100,000 zombies spread throughout Raccoon City before the nuclear explosion.
And he didn't want to waste this great opportunity to become stronger.
So, letting his warriors also seize the opportunity to improve their strength was definitely a good choice.
“My warriors, now…”
Just as he was about to continue, Joa suddenly realized he didn't know what time it was.
‘System, what time is it in the Resident Evil World now?’
“September 28th, 23:48.”
Nodding, Joa continued to speak loudly.
“There are less than 30 hours until Raccoon City is nuked.”
“I will grant you greater power.”
“Become predators at the top of the food chain.”
“Before Raccoon City is nuked, do your best to devour! Evolve into stronger Blacklight Warriors!”
“Come serve me! Be loyal!”
As he finished speaking, countless tentacles shimmering with black and red light surged from Joa’s body.
The next moment.
Screams shot up into the sky.
Those who didn't know would surely think that some inhumane slaughter was taking place here.
Beside him, Jill, upon hearing the news that Raccoon City was about to be nuked, immediately widened her eyes and murmured in disbelief.
“How could this be! There are still survivors in Raccoon City!”
“They can’t do this!”
Coming back to her senses, Jill cursed with a ferocious expression.
“Fuck! Damn Umbrella Corporation!”
“And those damn politicians in Congress! Are they just abandoning the survivors of Raccoon City?!”
Seeing Jill's angry appearance, Polaris couldn't help but sneer, not saying much.
Whether it was capitalists, politicians, or ordinary people, Polaris had no good feelings for any of them.
She had been targeted for many years.
After injecting the Blacklight Virus into the bodies of his one hundred and ninety-nine warriors, Joa felt an unprecedented hunger, from his cells, genes, and soul.
He urgently needed to replenish energy, bio-energy.
Suppressing the urge to immediately rush into the bank and devour all the zombie corpses inside, Joa turned to look at Polaris and Jill.
‘Jill is still sexier in a blue vest; this black combat uniform completely hides her alluring figure.’
Recalling Jill’s attire in the Resident Evil: Death Island movie, Joa spoke.
“Are You… not hungry?”
“I’m going to absorb the zombies in the bank; do You want to come along?”
Hearing this, Polaris stepped forward to Joa’s side.
“I’m not hungry, but don’t even think about leaving me behind again.”
Nodding, holding Polaris’s hand, Joa looked at Jill, who was standing still.
“What about You?”
Taking a deep breath, Jill’s expression was serious.
“I’m going to look for survivors in Raccoon City.”
Hearing this, Joa shrugged and did not stop her.
As a Police officer, Jill was like this: kind, brave, and helpful.
But when it came to being decisive, she wouldn't be a bleeding heart either.
A very charming and beautiful woman.
“Then You’d better wait a moment; my warriors are currently fusing with the Blacklight Virus.”
“Once they finish fusing, You can take my Blacklight Warriors with You.”
“As my woman, they will also obey your commands.”
Feeling Polaris’s grip on his hand tightening, Joa still winked at Jill and said with a smile.
“There’s strength in numbers, isn’t there?”
After speaking, Joa dared not say more, and with an awkward smile, he and Polaris entered the bank.
Feeling her now extraordinarily powerful body, which also had an appetite for zombies, Jill gave a wry smile.
“I’m afraid I even want to eat living people now. With me like this, I can’t leave him.”
She looked at the fully armed warriors still lying on the ground, wailing in pain.
Jill decided to wait a little longer.
She dragged several zombie corpses from a distance.
Jill swallowed lightly.
‘Since it’s already like this, I might as well try.’
She never dreamed that just a few hours ago, she was still a member of the STARS team.
Now she had evolved to the point of being inhuman.
It was too surreal.
As the thought arose in her mind, a large number of tentacles shimmering with black and red light surged from Jill’s legs.
Soon, the few zombies on the ground were completely absorbed.
“It feels… not bad.”
