12: The unreasonable North Star
“So, these people were indeed sent by Kingpin?”
“And that guy Kingpin already arranged things with the Los Santos Police Department beforehand?”
As Joa finished speaking, the mercenary Instructor nodded heavily.
“Heh, no wonder the Police haven’t arrived after so long.”
The Police and the subsequent investigation could be left for the female assistant to worry about.
Joa had just taken over Merryweather and wasn’t clear about the company’s relationship with the Los Santos government and the Police Department.
It was better not to interfere.
“Are You leaving?”
“Where to next?”
Walking up to Polaris, who was leaning against the warehouse door, Joa nodded.
“Next, we’ll prepare to rob a bank. Kingpin’s matter will be dealt with later.”
“Hmm, but before that, didn’t You forget something?”
Hearing this, Joa frowned in thought for a moment, then looked at Polaris in confusion.
Seeing his expression, Polaris sneered.
“Heh! About watching the movie, You wouldn’t be planning to go back on Your word, would You?”
“Huh? Partner?”
Upon Polaris’s reminder, Joa slapped his forehead.
“My bad, My bad, let’s go, we’ll go now.”
Taking Polaris’s hand, the two walked out of the warehouse.
Her green hair floating behind her, Polaris smiled brightly.
Thinking about what happened tonight, Polaris felt a sense of unreality.
The suddenly appearing Joa had brought her to a World she had always dreamed of.
She thought she would live a normal life from then on, but this World turned out to be extremely dangerous.
And Joa, who seemed like a good person, was actually a robber bold enough to plan a bank heist.
More importantly, she, who used to run at the sight of Police, had inexplicably agreed to it.
It wasn’t that she regretted getting on Joa’s pirate ship.
Instead, she found such things quite exciting and novel.
‘The favor of the Goddess of Fortune…is it?’
‘Hahaha, being with him, the days ahead are sure to be very interesting.’
Driving Merryweather’s SUV, which was parked in the port.
The two headed straight for the city center.
Joa knew a bit about movies before he transmigrated, but in this World, he knew nothing.
Looking at the movie schedules at the cinema, Joa wanted Polaris to decide what to watch.
To this, Polaris said she didn’t care.
She just wanted to experience something she hadn’t done before; what they watched didn’t matter.
Scratching his head helplessly, Joa could only randomly pick a movie from Hawick.
But he didn’t expect that the movie he randomly picked would be a rather explicit action, romance, and personal heroism film.
It started with a bed scene, and there were segments like that popping up occasionally afterward.
This made Polaris look at Joa with a meaningful gaze.
Throughout the entire movie, Joa felt like he was sitting on pins and needles because of Polaris’s gaze.
He swore he had never seen this movie before, nor did he intentionally choose it.
He really just picked it randomly.
“I wonder…what it feels like.”
A melodious female voice came from beside him, and Joa gasped.
‘No, this is too fast.’
Thinking this, Joa’s heart couldn’t help but beat faster, and his breathing became erratic.
Embracing the principle of not letting an advantage slip away.
Moreover, Polaris had hinted so obviously; wouldn’t it seem insensitive if he didn’t say something?
Just as he was about to speak.
“No way? Looking at Your expression, You wouldn’t really want to do that to Me…”
“Mmm!”
Before she could finish her sentence, Polaris’s eyes widened as she looked at Joa, who was so close.
Half a minute later.
The two, slightly out of breath, stared intently at each other.
“You dare to play with Me! I never said I was a good person!”
“Heh! Do You think I can’t tell? Partner?”
Among all the things Polaris wanted to experience, what she was most curious about was what the male and female protagonists in the movie had just done.
She had once seen couples in the street while on the run…
So, she was really curious about what that kind of thing felt like.
Before, she was only focused on hiding like a mouse and had never considered such things.
Now…Joa was the most suitable and the only candidate.
Her past experiences made her unable to accept anyone other than a Mutant.
Moreover…Joa’s appearance was very much to her liking.
The movie ended.
The two went to a hotel.
Listening to the sound of running Water in the bathroom.
Joa drank one shot of strong liquor after another.
As the liquor in the glass was finished.
Joa stepped into the bathroom.
······
The sun was high in the sky.
Feeling the dazzling sunlight, Joa groggily opened his eyes.
Just as he was about to sit up.
His pinned arm immediately reminded him of everything from last night.
As he gently lifted the blanket.
The dazzling sunlight shone on his face. Polaris, with her dark green hair, who was resting her head on his arm, pulled the blanket over her head again, dissatisfied.
“Stop it, I’m sleepy!”
“Hmm.”
Seeing this, Joa let out a slight chuckle.
It was her first time, yet she was so stubborn.
Insisting on taking the dominant role.
Now she knew she was tired.
Gently kneading Polaris’s shoulder through the blanket.
Joa also burrowed back under the covers.
“Aren’t You tired?”
······
In the Presidential suite’s dining room.
“Ha~ So sleepy!”
Polaris, wearing only a shirt, rolled her eyes at Joa, then looked at the food on the table.
“You made all these?”
Smiling, Joa replied.
“Otherwise?”
Hearing this, Polaris’s eyes were full of surprise.
“You can cook?”
“Where did You learn all these dishes?”
“They look so delicious and smell so good.”
“How come I’ve never seen them?”
Seeing Polaris’s strong approval of his cooking, Joa was very pleased.
“The recipes for these dishes come from a mysterious Eastern Great Nation.”
“After we finish that job, I’ll take You to visit.”
“You’ll definitely fall in love with it there.”
Raising an eyebrow, Polaris remained noncommittal.
Just as she was about to eat.
But seeing no knives or forks on the table, only two sticks placed on her right side, she paused.
“Where are the utensils?”
“Aren’t those them?”
Seeing Joa pointing at the two sticks on the dining table, Polaris looked bewildered.
“These…are utensils?”
“How do You use them?”
Picking up one stick with each hand, holding them, Polaris looked at Joa in confusion.
Seeing Polaris’s adorable, dazed expression, Joa couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
“Hahaha, those are called chopsticks, and You hold them with one hand.”
Hearing this, Polaris held both chopsticks in her right hand and looked at Joa.
“Like this?”
“No, You look like You’re about to stab someone to death.”
“Hmph! I’ll stab You to death! You insensitive guy!”
Realizing Polaris was blaming him for being a bit rough last night, Joa coughed twice.
Last night, Polaris was clearly the wildest one; how could he be blamed for that?
But reasoning with a woman was clearly futile, so he simply bypassed the topic and didn’t argue.
“Cough cough! Let Me teach You.”
After a chaotic period.
Polaris, by cheating with her abilities, finally learned how to use chopsticks.
“Luckily they’re metal chopsticks. If they were bamboo or wooden, I feel like I’d die of exhaustion.”
Rolling her eyes at Joa, Polaris retorted.
“Then why didn’t You get Me a knife and fork?”
“How are these things better than a knife and fork?”
Shaking his head with a smile, Joa said.
“You’ll know once You use them for a long time.”
Saying that, Joa also sat down and began to eat lunch with her.
