64: Terrified Homelander

He stared intently at the man in front of him.

Homelander's mouth twitched.

From his genes, from the depths of his soul, a trace of fear, unbidden, arose—the fear of facing a predator.

How could he, the strongest among The Seven, accept this?

His eyes gradually glowed red, and Homelander exerted all his strength to unleash his Heat Vision.

Seeing this, Joa raised his hand and blocked the Heat Vision with his forearm.

He carefully gauged the power of the Heat Vision.

Upon initial contact, Joa felt two indentations burned into his forearm, but it wasn't completely pierced through.

And as he consciously strengthened his recovery,

the damage caused by Homelander's Heat Vision couldn't even keep up with his body's regeneration speed.

"Weak! Too weak!"

"How can it be so weak?!"

With furrowed brows, Joa's face was filled with displeasure.

He had thought Homelander was quite strong.

He believed that after devouring and absorbing him, he would become even stronger.

But now, it seemed Homelander's Heat Vision was not even as powerful as a nuclear explosion.

This greatly disappointed Joa.

Enduring the Heat Vision, Joa quickly walked up to Homelander.

He swiftly reached out and grabbed Homelander's hair, then landed a heavy punch on Homelander's abdomen.

"Cough! Hiss!"

His body arching like a shrimp, Homelander coughed twice, took a sharp breath, and then shot into the sky with Joa.

"His body's toughness is decent, though..."

Homelander, who had intended to shake off Joa, saw that the latter was still clinging to his hair and spouting arrogant words.

Rage surged uncontrollably within him, and he began to punch Joa.

Pounding sounds echoed.

Homelander's fists rained down on Joa's body.

But Joa showed no reaction, not even dodging.

"His strength is also mediocre."

The hand gripping Homelander's hair suddenly exerted downward force.

Homelander, who was rapidly ascending, paused.

He was now in a 90-degree bowing posture in mid-air.

Then, Joa clasped his hands together, raised them high, and slammed them down onto Homelander's back.

With a loud bang!

Homelander plummeted downward even faster than he had ascended.

Boom!

A large crater was formed in the ground, with thick smoke billowing.

As for Joa, he slowly descended, with black and red wings growing from his back.

The battle, which lasted only a dozen seconds, left everyone in New York City stunned.

Homelander... was defeated?

By that... Fallen Angel?

Was he defeated?

Could it be that... everything happening today was a punishment from God?

Doomsday theories gradually surfaced in people's minds.

Joa's appearance caused some superstitious people to instinctively kneel, muttering about God's punishment, sacrifices, offerings to God, and so on.

Landing on the ground, the thick smoke gradually dispersed.

Joa slowly walked towards Homelander, who was on his hands and knees, kneeling before him.

'No! I can't win!'

'I can't beat him!'

'I'm going to die! Die!'

Homelander, with his head bowed, had a distorted expression, his heart filled with despair and fear.

His strength, speed, Heat Vision, everything he had, was useless against that terrifying monster.

And with only two attacks from the opponent, intense pain coursed through his body.

Homelander was almost in tears.

In all his life, when had he ever faced such a terrifying enemy?

'What should I do? What should I do?'

'Beg for mercy?'

'Will the other party let me go?'

The pair of legs appearing before him, and the voice reaching his ears, made Homelander's heart tighten.

He forced a smile uglier than a cry, and Homelander slowly looked up.

"Please... please... spare me..."

His fists hardened!

His fists hardened!

Homelander's cowardly display made Joa unable to resist smashing a punch down, directly hitting the top of his head.

Boom!

This powerful blow caused Homelander's head to be deeply embedded in the ground.

Pulling his head out, Homelander spat out a mouthful of blood.

When he looked up at Joa again, a more fawning smile appeared on his face.

Amused by Homelander's cowardly nature, Joa, without a word, grabbed him and flew towards the Space-Time Gate.

After Joa left with the man,

the Blacklight Life and Blacklight Warriors all looked at Christine, Polaris, and Jill.

Waiting for their orders.

"Uh... what should we do?"

Christine had only recently become Joa's woman and didn't know what to do in this situation.

"..."

Jill remained silent. Although it wasn't the same World, both were called New York.

She couldn't bring herself to order the massacre of all humanity.

But she wouldn't stop Joa either.

After all, Joa had given her complete autonomy over the entire Resident Evil World, so what reason did she have to interfere with how Joa handled other Worlds?

Seeing their expressions, Polaris's lips curved upward.

"Begin the operation. Leave the Planet, kill all other living creatures!"

Polaris had no resistance to giving such an order.

Perhaps before, she might have viewed Mutants differently.

But now, she had no good feelings for anyone other than Joa and his subordinate forces.

"Yes, Madam!"

The Carnage... began again...

......

Watching Homelander being effortlessly beaten by that monster,

The Seven of Vought Corporation... now presumably The Six...

They finally panicked.

Before, they were only somewhat solemn because Homelander was still there.

But as soon as the strongest Homelander was defeated, they immediately fell into a panic.

They started expressing their opinions all at once.

Some talked about fleeing, some about fighting to the death, and some were so desperate their eyes were hollow, waiting for death.

"Shut up, all of you!"

"Follow me! I still have a plan!"

Madelyn Stillwell's angry roar silenced everyone present.

After a moment of silence, seeing no one ask, A-Train impatiently spoke up.

"What plan?"

Hearing this, Stillwell took a deep breath, her gaze sweeping over everyone, and spoke gravely.

"Soldier Boy!"

......

On the roof of Vought Corporation.

A helicopter rapidly ascended and fled into the distance.

Noticing someone trying to escape, DeFrey licked his lips, about to transform and pursue, but was stopped by Hank beside him.

"No need, this World will fall sooner or later. It doesn't matter where they run."

"Let's focus on what's in front of us first."

Shrugging indifferently, DeFrey said,

"Alright, I'll listen to You."

Then, the two once again charged towards the army advancing into the city.

Time passed bit by bit.

With the addition of the Blacklight Warriors, New York City rapidly fell.

No matter what weapons or equipment, even intercontinental ballistic missiles, once they entered the range of New York City, they would completely lose control.

This filled the entire World with a sense of panic.

Facing such individually powerful creatures,

humanity... was utterly powerless to resist.

Even nuclear bombs, upon entering the range of New York City, would lose their effectiveness; they couldn't even be detonated.

And nuclear bombs that exploded outside New York City,

could not cause any fatal damage to those monsters.

Not even radiation.

Apocalypse, alien invasion, God's punishment.

An unprecedented sense of despair enveloped the entire World.

No one knew what those monsters were waiting for.

Or when they would launch attacks on other regions.
