4: Private armed group, Merryweather
Joa and Nigger were already considering the issue of shipment.
Meanwhile, under the moonlight, at the entrance of Stark Tower, Coulson sat in his car, watching Tony Stark, who was surrounded by reporters and looked gloomy.
Coulson began to contact Fury with a grave expression.
"Director, those two robbers... disappeared."
"Motherfucker!! What do you mean disappeared?!"
"How did two living people vanish into thin air?!"
Facing the interrogation, Coulson was speechless.
He didn't know how to explain himself.
At this point, anything he said would make his S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents seem incredibly incompetent.
So incompetent that they let two robbers escape.
But they couldn't be blamed for this.
By the time they arrived, the two robbers had already gotten away.
They only had a general idea of their location.
The Los Santos Police searched for nearly ten hours but found not a single clue.
The robbers' weapons were unmarked, making their origin untraceable.
Or rather, such weapons had too many sources and were easy to acquire, making them impossible to trace.
The plasma cutter used to cut the glass was traced to its source.
It was bought by a few hooligans.
They seemed to be planning to rob a jewelry store or a museum, was it?
As it turned out, these hooligans hadn't even made their move before they were robbed by the robbers.
"Director, these two robbers are too cunning."
"They were extremely well-prepared; it was definitely an organized, premeditated crime."
Hearing Coulson's words, Fury continued to curse over the phone.
After his emotions calmed down, Fury reluctantly ordered Coulson to return to S.H.I.E.L.D.
The incident had already occurred, and they had failed to prevent it.
So, Coulson's continued presence there would serve no purpose.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Agents were very busy and had no time to waste on such matters.
This matter would be left for Tony to worry about himself.
After dealing with the reporters at the entrance and declaring that he would make the two robbers pay the price no matter where they fled, Tony Stark, escorted by security personnel, walked with a grim face into the messy Stark Tower exhibition hall.
Most of the weapons on display in the hall were intact.
Only his personally developed Smart Pistol was missing.
'Why would these two robbers steal this toy?'
He knew that the Smart Pistol he created was just a toy.
Purely for showing off.
It was not a qualified military product at all.
The cost was too high.
His purpose in creating this gun was simply because he found it fun, and he wanted to show off a bit, demonstrating his own capabilities and those of Stark Industries.
It was meant to boost his company's competitiveness in the market.
After all, Stark Industries wasn't the only arms dealer in the U.S.
There was also Hammer Industries, which had always been competing with him.
There was also Merryweather Security Consulting, but now, hehe.
Therefore, developing such a Smart Pistol to show off and boost customer confidence was absolutely necessary.
But it had only been on display for half a year when it was robbed, which infuriated Tony Stark.
His gaze turned to Virginia Pepper Potts, who was negotiating with the Police searching for clues in the exhibition hall.
Tony Stark took a deep breath.
"Hey, Pepper."
Hearing the call, Pepper turned her head.
She then apologized to the Police standing opposite her and turned to walk towards Stark.
"Pepper, how are things? Do the Police have any clues?"
Hearing Stark's question, Pepper looked serious.
"More than thirty security personnel were seriously injured, and over ten Police officers were seriously injured."
"There were even more with minor injuries."
"But thankfully, no one died."
"Clues..."
At this point, Pepper looked at Stark with a grave expression and shook her head.
Seeing Pepper's expression, Stark growled, "Shit!"
"These two damned robbers, I will definitely catch them!"
"Jarvis! Record the external features of the robbers! Search all city surveillance footage! Compare them one by one!"
"Yes, sir."
After the Los Santos Stark Tower robbery occurred, the internet and television stations were all scrambling to report the incident.
This robbery, which shocked the entire Los Santos, was sure to cause a huge sensation tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the protagonists who committed such a major crime were currently on the rooftop of a residential building in Hell's Kitchen.
Holding night vision binoculars, Joa continuously observed the abandoned warehouse not far in front of him.
"It seems the buyer is quite honest; there's no ambush or intention to double-cross us."
Putting away the binoculars, Joa took out the AK47 he used during the daytime operation, along with several drum magazines full of ammunition, and handed them to Nigger, along with the goods.
"You go put the goods in the location designated by the buyer."
"I'll stand guard here; if there's any problem, notify me immediately via the walkie-talkie."
"Yes, Boss!"
Nigger showed no hesitation or doubt regarding Joa's order; he picked up the items, went downstairs, and walked alone towards the abandoned warehouse.
Not long after, Nigger returned to Joa's side after placing the goods.
Without rushing to leave, Joa took out his phone and contacted Avi.
"The goods have been delivered; contact the buyer. We'll leave once the money arrives."
As soon as Joa finished speaking, Avi on the phone said something that surprised Joa.
"The buyer's money has already been transferred. I was just about to call you to inform you."
"Transferred? That fast?"
Subconsciously, Joa scanned the surrounding buildings with a vigilant expression, trying to find anyone monitoring the warehouse.
But after searching for a long time, he found nothing.
His consciousness sank into his mind, and he saw that the system task had been completed.
Joa decisively claimed the reward.
'No matter what kind of evil spirits are monitoring this place, now that Merryweather Security Consulting is in hand, there's no need for me to stay here any longer.'
"Alright! I understand, we'll head back now."
Hanging up the phone, Joa did not linger and immediately left with Nigger.
Just as they returned to the apartment entrance, Joa's phone rang.
Seeing that it was an unknown number, Joa hesitated before answering the call, while waving Nigger to go inside first.
"Hello, who is this?"
Joa asked about the caller's identity with confusion, and a pleasant female voice came from the other end of the phone.
"Hello, Boss, you must be Mr. Qiao, who just took over Merryweather Security Consulting."
"I'm your assistant. When do you have time to come to the company to arrange future work?"
Hearing that it was a call from Merryweather, the private military company rewarded by the system, Joa couldn't help but feel excited.
Merryweather, which had branches almost all over the World except for East Asia, and cooperated with governments of various countries, with liquid assets and financial resources that might even surpass Stark Industries!
The company even owned submarines and possessed almost all of the World's cutting-edge military technology, except for nuclear bombs.
The quality of the company's mercenaries, even in the World of Prototype, might be able to contend with Blackwatch.
How could Joa not feel excited about owning such a company entirely?
