87: Constancy
“Degeneration?”
“What degeneration?”
Joa’s question left Cherubimon and Seraphimon somewhat bewildered.
All the Digimon in the Digital World were seeking stronger power.
Why would any Digimon want to degenerate?
“I don’t care who You are!”
“But since You’ve appeared here, hand over your data.”
Cherubimon grinned sinisterly, condensing a crimson lightning spear in his hand and fiercely throwing it towards Joa.
Seeing this, Joa raised his hand with extreme displeasure.
“I haven’t even made a move, and You’ve already attacked me first?”
“Is Lucemon giving You this confidence?”
“Shinra Tensei!”
The crimson lightning spear, upon contact with Shinra Tensei’s repulsive force, was instantly shattered by the repulsion.
“I am different from You.”
“You are Ultimate, because You only have Ultimate strength.”
“And I am Super Ultimate, because the Digital World’s limit is only Super Ultimate.”
He would not give Cherubimon, who dared to attack him, a second chance.
The crimson Nine Tomoe Rinnegan on Joa’s forehead erupted with pupil power.
The next moment.
Cherubimon was instantly mesmerized by the crimson eye on Joa’s forehead.
“What beautiful eyes!”
His internal data became chaotic, and his consciousness continuously sank.
Cherubimon completely succumbed to the illusion.
“Universal Pull.”
Pulling Cherubimon in front of him, Joa pierced through the opponent’s body with one palm.
Black and red tentacles surged from his forearm.
Soon, Cherubimon’s data was completely absorbed.
“This trash-like power, it was truly superfluous to absorb.”
Not having obtained the expected method of degeneration.
Joa turned his head to look at Seraphimon, who was sealed by something like ice.
“Let’s try absorbing another humanoid Digimon.”
Hearing that Joa, who had instantly defeated Cherubimon in a few moves, intended to absorb Seraphimon.
Seraphimon immediately snapped out of her shock, quickly blocked the sealing crystal, and hastily spoke.
“What exactly is your purpose?”
“I’ve never seen a Digimon as strong as You!”
“Are You also Lucemon’s subordinate?”
Sizing up Seraphimon, Joa smirked.
“Your figure is quite good, and this armor has a unique charm.”
“How tall are You?”
Looking up at Joa, Seraphimon was stunned.
Why did the topic change so quickly?
After a moment of contemplation, completely unaware of what the large Digimon in front of her meant.
Seraphimon cautiously spoke.
“About 2.65 meters.”
Rubbing his chin, Joa smacked his lips.
“It’s a pity You’re a bit petite, I’ll have to savor You later.”
With that, Joa waved his hand, and Seraphimon was confined in the air nearby by his gravitational repulsion.
Her body floated uncontrollably in mid-air, unable to move.
Seraphimon felt a bit panicked in her heart.
‘What exactly is going on?’
‘Since Lucemon degenerated into Lucemon and was sealed by the Ten Warriors, the three of us should have been the strongest Digimon.’
‘How could… such a powerful Digimon suddenly appear?’
In the ancient Digital World.
Digimon were divided into two factions.
They had a disagreement about whether to evolve.
Not evolving meant that a Digimon’s strength was determined from birth.
Evolution broke this restriction.
These two factions fought for an unknown period.
Finally, the evolving faction won.
They exiled the non-evolving faction to another World.
And built a wall of Fire between the two Worlds.
Time flew by.
A long, long time later.
War broke out again in the Digital World.
This time it was a war between humanoid and beast-type Digimon.
The two sides fought endlessly for a long time.
Until Lucemon appeared, quelled the war, and shared his power with the Three Great Angels.
And these Three Great Angels were the beast-type Cherubimon, the humanoid Seraphimon, and the humanoid Angewomon.
Watching her colleagues and friends of many years being absorbed by that unknown Super Ultimate Digimon.
A feeling of vulnerability arose in Seraphimon’s heart.
‘Could it be that the Digital World is about to be destroyed?’
Joa had no time to concern himself with Seraphimon’s thoughts.
After successively absorbing two Ultimate Digimon, Joa frowned, and a conjecture surfaced in his mind.
“Digimon evolution requires a large amount of data, and the more data, the stronger they become.”
“As long as the absorbed data remains within their bodies, they will not degenerate.”
“This is no different from energy in the real World.”
“If I want to degenerate, I must separate and store the energy within my body.”
“Tsk, this is difficult.”
Thinking of this, Joa turned to look at Seraphimon.
“Do You know of anything that can read and store excess data at any time?”
Seeing the unknown powerful Digimon look at her.
Seraphimon was startled.
“I’m asking You a question, why are You spacing out?”
Joa frowned slightly, and Seraphimon dared not neglect him.
“Yes!”
“Homeostasis!”
“Homeostasis can create what You need.”
Hearing this, Joa frowned.
Homeostasis?
Didn’t that appear in the first season of Digimon?
It was something similar to the will of the Digital World’s heavenly dao, existing to maintain the balance of the Digital World.
‘It’s also a being similar to the heavenly dao, and if there’s anything in the Digital World that can solve my problem, it’s probably only Homeostasis.’
Thinking of this, Joa spoke again.
“Can You contact Homeostasis?”
“What methods does he have?”
Taking a light breath, Seraphimon calmed her panicked emotions and slowly spoke.
“Yes, I can contact Homeostasis.”
“After the World Tree was reset by the Royal Knights, Homeostasis became the Digital World’s main computer.”
“He is virtually omnipotent in the Digital World; he must have a way to solve your problem.”
“But what specific method, I don’t know.”
Hearing this, Joa hesitated for a moment before letting Seraphimon down from mid-air.
“I came to the Digital World only to find a way to degenerate.”
“I have no interest in doing things like destroying the Digital World and the real World.”
“As long as Homeostasis can help me solve the problem, I will leave immediately.”
At this point, Joa smirked.
“Of course, if You are willing to beg me, and then leave with me.”
“I can also help You get rid of Lucemon, who bewitched Cherubimon.”
Hearing this, Seraphimon’s expression hardened.
“Leave? Go where?”
“What do You want me to do?”
She didn’t doubt whether Joa could get rid of Lucemon.
Given his demonstrated ability to instantly defeat Cherubimon in two or three moves, punch through the sealing crystal, and absorb Seraphimon’s power.
Lucemon might not even be able to do it.
“Do what? You’ll find out later.”
Smiling with interest, he raised his hand, took off Seraphimon’s helmet, and, pinching her chin, Joa carefully examined Seraphimon’s appearance.
“You’re quite beautiful.”
