12: Chapter 12 Han Xin and Yao

The dishes at Sakura Cuisine were served quickly; some sashimi and sushi didn't take long to prepare.

Su Nange opened a bottle of ramune for Su Yao and took the initiative to speak, "I came to you because I really want your help and advice; I definitely won't make things difficult for you."

Although Su Yao didn't have a classic oval face, her chin was V-shaped, making her features look small and delicate. Added to that was her thick, neat, jet-black hair tied back with an exquisite hairband.

It gave her an indescribable air of obedience and gentleness.

Su Yao took a sip of her soda and asked, "Go ahead, what is it? We're family, after all; I'll definitely help if I can."

So, you see, the attitude was completely different.

Su Nange explained, "You saw it the other day, didn't you? I joined my current insurance company. But my boss might have had some misunderstanding and immediately assigned me to handle the City Investment account."

Su Yao understood, "You mean that chubby Director Liu? He thinks you know Director Zhou?"

Su Nange nodded, "Yes, and you were there that day too."

Su Yao pouted, looking very cute, "That's just because Director Zhou cares about you. Actually, Director Zhou is quite nice, just a bit strict."

Su Nange: "That old..." He nearly blurted it out, then forced himself to hold back and tried to smooth it over, "That old—I mean, a leader who cares so much about their subordinates, doesn't that just cause misunderstandings?"

Su Yao asked, "You're not mad at Director Zhou anymore?"

Su Nange asked curiously, "What right do I have to blame someone as high-ranking as her? That's why I came to you today, to figure out how to break this deadlock."

Su Yao analyzed the situation, "The secondary companies below really do have a lot of complaints about you all. But you still need to talk to Director Zhou about this. Since she helped you that day, she surely won't ignore it."

Su Nange shook his head, "It's not the right time yet, or she'll look down on me again. I am a grown man, after all."

Su Yao looked at the high-spirited Su Nange and covered her mouth, laughing, "Then it's even more useless to come to me. I'm not a cashier or an accountant right now. I'm just a small assistant who organizes files."

Su Nange said mysteriously, "That's not true. Don't underestimate yourself; you might just be the most crucial person."

After saying this, Su Nange didn't keep her in suspense and pulled out a stack of documents, placing them in front of Su Yao.

Su Nange introduced them, "These are the pending claims for all the secondary institutions under City Investment Company. I've already talked to the Claims Department to handle a batch of them centrally. Let's try to restore our reputation a bit first."

Su Yao nodded, "So, what can I do to help you?"

Unknowingly, Su Yao had gone from being somewhat resistant to actively asking for tasks.

Su Nange said, "You can help a lot. You know, if I proactively contact these secondary companies, they'll hang up on me the moment they hear it's insurance. They might even curse me out."

"But if we work together, and you help me contact them, saying the Group wants to help the subordinate units by centrally handling these difficult cases, wouldn't the secondary companies' resistance be much weaker?"

"First, you represent the Group, which means you're helping them. Second, I'll have a foot in the door, and I'll only need to be responsible for getting the claims settled."

"If it goes smoothly, I can help the company recover a lot of bad impressions. And you, wouldn't you also be doing something practical for City Investment?"

"Besides, you're in Finance, and insurance is managed by your department anyway."

Su Nange spoke with great persuasiveness. Su Yao chewed on the straw of her ramune, looking adorably dazed.

However, thinking about it internally, it seemed that, just as Su Nange said, this matter was truly all benefits and no harm for her.

Thus, Su Yao nodded and asked another question, "But my rank is very different from the leaders of the subordinate companies. If I contact them, they might not necessarily pay attention to me."

Su Nange took Su Yao's chopsticks and picked up a piece of succulent tuna for her.

Then he continued patiently, "They will, because you have the imperial sword in your hand."

"The imperial sword?"

Su Nange: "That's right. Don't you have Director Zhou? You're so smart, you must know that Director Zhou hasn't been the Vice President in charge of Finance for long. Doesn't she want to accomplish something?"

Su Yao suddenly realized, and couldn't help but be influenced by Su Nange.

Su Yao's voice rose a bit, "That's right! What you said makes sense. I'll report this to Director Zhou this afternoon."

Su Nange smiled, "Good, she will definitely agree. It's clear that she actually likes you quite a bit. What she lacks most by her side right now is her own people!"

This last sentence from Su Nange directly enlightened Su Yao.

She had a sudden realization: Right, ever since Director Zhou was transferred here, she, a young girl, had quickly been put in an important position and became her exclusive little secretary. Wasn't it just because she was a novice and didn't have her own team?

In a large local state-owned enterprise like City Investment, the complexity far exceeds what ordinary people can imagine. Although Su Yao didn't have any grand ambitions, she still had to go with the flow.

No one would hope to stay in the lowest position forever, right?

The leader wanting to use her is one thing, but most importantly, she has to bring something to the table herself!

Therefore, when she heard everything Su Nange said, she suddenly realized that this was indeed an opportunity.

Su Yao praised, "I didn't expect you to be so incisive when looking at problems."

Su Nange chuckled, "Although my education isn't as high as yours, I'm still a flexible person. When we work together later, it'll be pretty good."

"I'm like Han Xin in Honor of Kings; suffering a little humiliation is nothing. And you, you happen to be Yao, riding on my head. In the King's Canyon, wouldn't we be invincible?"

Su Yao reached out with her small hand, patted Su Nange, and giggled, "You're annoying! Who wants to ride on your head!"

Su Nange was also stunned. Did this girl not know that such an action was a bit flirtatious?

Looking at Su Yao's obedient, shy little face, Su Nange actually felt a tremor in his heart.

Su Nange quickly shook his head and said, "Eat more, we're teammates from now on!"

Su Yao's impression of Su Nange had greatly improved; in just this one meal, there was no longer a trace of rejection.

Su Nange was secretly delighted. Actually, how much could a Japanese meal and a doll cost? To win over a little mole inside City Investment Company like this was simply worth it!

In the afternoon, Su Nange whistled as he returned to the company. Carrying a whole carton of cigarettes, he went to the Claims Manager's office.

Yang Jian laughed, "You've got guts, openly bribing me like this?"

Su Nange was very familiar, "Brother Yang, I've come to beg you for help again! I went to City Investment Company this morning, and we've preliminarily agreed that their headquarters will take the lead to centrally handle a batch of difficult claims."

"So, I acted without permission first and came back to apologize to you. I'm afraid this matter will still require your hard work and that of your brothers."

Yang Jian found that this young man spoke quite comfortably, clearly explaining the key points of the matter without making a fuss.

You can't hit a smiling face, so Yang Jian nodded, "It's fine, these cases needed to be handled anyway. Liu Dong has been ignoring them, so it's best if someone takes over. I'll have my people cooperate with you."

Su Nange, like a seasoned person, cupped his hands and said, "Thank you, Hero Yang!"

Yang Jian waved his hand, "Stop with the smooth talk; I'm perfectly fine with two hands."

Su Nange smiled, gently closed the door, and walked out.

Yang Jian picked up the phone on his desk and dialed, "Sort out the cases for City Investment, and mark down what materials are missing. When the time comes, cooperate with the Corporate Customer Department to handle a batch of them."

Meanwhile, on Su Yao's side, she found Zhou Wanqing in the afternoon.

Zhou Wanqing asked, "Xiaoyao, what's the matter?"

Su Yao organized her thoughts and said, "Su Nange came to see me this morning. He said..."

Zhou Wanqing listened carefully, and on her serious face, the corners of her mouth lifted imperceptibly.

She said to Su Yao, "Regardless, his idea is correct. At least this matter does need to be pushed forward. Since he came to you, you should cooperate with him."

"In a while, go and draft a notice. Issue it in the name of our Group to the subordinate companies at all levels, and then you can take Su Nange to run a round."

Su Yao smiled, "Alright, Director Zhou."

Zhou Wanqing added a reminder, "You need to be careful yourself. Don't believe everything people in the financial industry say!"

Su Yao was stunned, then smiled, "Don't worry, Director Zhou."

Watching Su Yao leave briskly, Zhou Wanqing put down her work. She turned a leather office sofa towards the window.

Her two slender calves under her skirt were elegantly crossed. Her delicate hands supported her eye sockets, gently rubbing them.

Seemingly relieving fatigue, she suddenly whispered, "Su Nange? Heh..."
