13: Chapter 13 was worth it.

As the workday was nearing its end, Su Nange received a message from Su Yao. It was a picture accompanied by a short message.

The picture was a notice sent by the City Investment Company to its subsidiaries, mentioning that Su Yao would be acting as the group representative to implement and promote this task.

Furthermore, Su Yao had specifically added Su Nange's name to the notice as the representative for the partner side. This was a huge help to Su Nange.

In her message, Su Yao mentioned that President Zhou had hesitated slightly upon seeing it, but ultimately signed off on it.

Su Nange smiled and praised, "As expected, our Sister Yao is the best. I've always said, you have to snatch the hero Yao!"

Su Yao sent back a laughing-crying emoji: "Can't you be a bit more serious? I'm actually older than you!"

Big? You're definitely bigger than me; you're too big! Su Nange immediately replied, "Yes, madam!"

On the other side, Su Yao couldn't help but smile at her screen again.

Without even realizing it herself, the sense of slight unfamiliarity she felt this morning had already transformed into a great deal of trust in Su Nange.

Su Nange knew that when it came to girls, you just had to listen. If she told you to be serious, would you actually be serious? If she really hated you, she would have stopped chatting with you long ago.

Su Yao said that President Zhou had only given them two weeks, so the schedule was tight, and she urged Su Nange to ensure everything was well-coordinated on his end.

Su Nange told Su Yao not to worry, as the claims department had already sent over the missing documents. They just needed to go and collect them from each company tomorrow.

The day passed like that. At night, Su Nange went online again to sell cars, race, and have "in-depth exchanges" with the big guys. Another day with over a hundred thousand in his pocket. Happy!

Especially at the thought of seeing the beautiful and well-behaved Su Yao tomorrow, Su Nange felt in a very good mood.

However, he suddenly thought of Tingting again. Her moving face was still deeply etched in his mind, impossible to shake off.

Looking at the balance in his card, Su Nange decided that as soon as he bought a big house, he would bring Tingting back immediately.

The next day, Su Nange directly requested time off for field work and went to the City Investment Company to pick up Su Yao.

Su Nange had already forwarded the notice sent by Su Yao to his supervisor, Liu Dong. Liu Dong replied with a thumbs-up gesture, thinking even more highly of Su Nange.

It also made him increasingly certain that the relationship between Su Nange and Zhou Wanqing was not simple. Otherwise, how could he have obtained official authorization in just a few days? And even had his name written directly into the document.

Today, Su Yao was dressed even more formally, with her beautiful hair secured behind her head with a claw clip. This fully revealed her delicate little face, making her look quite capable and no longer just like a good little girl.

Moreover, the City Investment Company uniform was exceptionally sharp. It seemed that it really did boost a girl's confidence.

Su Nange gave himself a mental slap. No, how could he be such a hypocrite? He still didn't like his Tingting being looked at by other men.

Su Yao got into the car and asked curiously, "What's wrong? We can go now."

Su Nange gave a shaky laugh and said, "I almost didn't recognize you. I thought some big leader had gotten into the wrong car!"

Su Yao smiled faintly. "You really have a glib tongue!"

Su Nange didn't waste any time and drove straight to the first destination, an Urban Construction Company.

With the group's official document, the attitudes of these subsidiary companies were completely different.

Even a minor assistant like Su Yao was received by the local leadership.

Of course, for such a small matter, there was no need to trouble the top executive of the subsidiary. However, Su Nange suggested that if they could meet the top leaders, they should.

Firstly, it would help earn rapport points, and secondly, if they met again, she could say they had met during a certain task or on a certain occasion.

Therefore, the difference between meeting and not meeting was quite significant. This was important for both Su Yao and Su Nange.

Su Yao thought this made a lot of sense. She even took the opportunity to add the top leaders of the subsidiary companies to her contacts.

When meeting with the financial manager in charge of insurance at the subsidiary, Su Nange dropped his playful attitude and behaved very seriously.

Today, Su Nange had also changed into a uniform with his company's printed logo. Coupled with his now tall and sturdy build, he looked very sharp and handsome.

This caused the army of women at the Urban Construction Company, who were originally full of complaints about the insurance service, to suddenly lose their temper.

Su Nange took the initiative to admit that his company's previous service had been inadequate. He explained that after President Zhou arrived, she had specifically sought out the insurance company to demand the formation of a new service team to help the enterprise resolve their claim difficulties.

Su Yao secretly marveled at how Su Nange was subtly elevating President Zhou's image once again.

Furthermore, once Su Nange immersed himself in work, he was as serious and focused as could be.

His professional answers and rich knowledge of finance and accounting even left Su Yao, who was standing beside him, looking on with a bit of infatuation.

Inevitably, in the large finance office of the Urban Construction Company, many young female accountants also began to steal glances at him.

The person in charge of the Urban Construction Company's side was a female financial manager. After sorting through the documents, she praised them, saying that the two Managers Su had arrived at the perfect time.

If these insurance payouts could be successfully processed, it would even help alleviate some of the cash flow pressure on project funds.

Hearing this, Su Yao felt that bringing Su Nange along today was also something that brought her a lot of prestige.

She didn't notice that as they were leaving and saying their goodbyes, she was standing side-by-side with Su Nange. The gap between them was becoming smaller and smaller.

Anyone who didn't know better would have thought she was also from the insurance company.

Having successfully finished with the first company, Su Nange handed Su Yao a bottle of water after getting into the car. He opened one for himself as well, taking a long breath before gulping it down in large mouthfuls.

Su Nange sighed, "It's a good thing you were there. I was scared to death just now."

"Did you see how fierce they looked at me at first? It seems their grievances have been building for a long time. If it weren't for you, I might not have made it out of there."

Su Yao smiled, her voice very soft and sweet. "How could that be? It was because you were very professional yourself."

Su Nange looked full of energy. "Alright, let's continue our attack on the next unit!"

Realizing something was wrong, Su Nange added, "Sorry, sorry. I said strike... I shouldn't... never mind, never mind."

Su Yao smiled knowingly. Whether it was the occasionally rogue-like Su Nange or the incredibly serious Su Nange, she suddenly felt her heart beating quite fast.

As someone who had always been very well-behaved, she had never felt this way before.

The second enterprise was a Water Company, which also had a significant asset scale.

To the surprise of the two, the General Manager of this company had been waiting for them in his office early on.

The middle-aged General Manager was very warm. He first greeted Su Yao and then said to Su Nange, "I know you."

Su Nange was stunned. When had he ever known such a leader?

The General Manager explained, "You forgot? Last time, it was our unit's document that urged you to go get the signature. I didn't expect that for you, young man... I'm sorry about that."

Su Nange suddenly realized. Damn, so it was you, that old fellow Manager Gao! You caused my bright future to vanish just like that.

However, although Su Nange felt frustrated inside, his words were very dignified. "Haha, Manager Gao, don't say that. It's all about serving you. Besides, hasn't our fate brought us even closer now? Here I am again!"

Manager Gao patted Su Nange on the back. "Good lad, you're resilient enough!"

So, following that, Manager Gao had his subordinate financial manager come over and directly handed over his office to them to discuss business.

Su Nange remained very professional. Having just read the terms, he could instantly recall the corresponding explanations from his memory. He explained many issues very clearly to the other party's finance staff.

He would immediately implement whatever could be compensated. For items that did not fall within the scope of insurance, he also provided examples to explain why.

These enterprises were strictly business-oriented; as long as things were done according to laws and regulations, neither side had any objections.

Throughout the entire process, Su Yao hardly spoke a word; it was all Su Nange speaking with great passion.

Inevitably, Su Yao even took the initiative to take photos of Su Nange from the side, leaving visual records so she could write her report later.

Time soon reached noon, and Manager Gao insisted on keeping the two for lunch. He even had the cafeteria prepare a special meal with a couple of simple stir-fried dishes.

While eating, Manager Gao praised Su Nange, "I listened to the gist of what you were discussing just now. You're good. I hope that next year, you'll still be the one serving us. I won't accept anyone else!"

Su Nange smiled and said, "Thank you for the encouragement, Manager Gao. If it weren't for the work this afternoon, I would have definitely had a large drink with you. I'll invite you next time!"

Manager Gao laughed heartily. "No problem, no problem."

As they were leaving, Manager Gao personally saw them out. Su Yao walked ahead while Manager Gao walked side-by-side with Su Nange, suddenly whispering, "Little Su, how's President Zhou's figure? It's not bad, right?"

Su Nange was stunned. What kind of bold words were these?

However, he quickly realized that Manager Gao had a Northern accent and was a man of genuine character.

Su Nange also whispered back to Manager Gao, "I can only say, it was worth being fired!"

Manager Gao burst out laughing and patted Su Nange on the back. "You're too humorous!"

With that, the small misunderstanding between Manager Gao and Su Nange completely dissipated.
