205: Chapter 205 Disordered Awakening

Ye Tian lay in his dormitory, feeling very uneasy.

Today, his friends from the photography association had asked him to hang out again.

However, for once, he had declined. Looking at his bank balance, he felt a lack of confidence.

What made him feel even more chilled was that he had completely exhausted his online loan credit.

He had borrowed a full forty thousand yuan, and his remaining available credit was zero!

Furthermore, the repayment date was fast approaching.

However, a phone call just now had reignited his hope.

An unknown number seemed to have found him with precision, asking if he needed funds.

Ye Tian decisively said he did. So, the person on the other end quoted him a series of numbers—the usual online loan routine—stating how much he'd pay daily to get fifty thousand.

That was fifty thousand yuan! Ye Tian was both afraid and tempted.

The person said they would call again tomorrow morning; as long as he signed an electronic contract, the funds could be released.

At that moment, a roommate in the dorm suddenly asked, "Young Master Ye, don't you usually go out on weekends? How come you're actually staying in the dorm this week?"

"By the way, how are things between you and Fu Jiawen? I think I saw her getting into Hu Jie's car and leaving yesterday."

Ye Tian said irritably, "This week's activities are boring, I'm not going."

"Young Master Ye, that association of yours burns so much money. How much allowance does your family give you a month? What exactly does your family do?"

"I've told you before, my family runs a company. Besides, my sister is a model. If you don't believe me, go search for her. She's the spokesperson for Jiangnan Beauty."

A few guys opened a webpage: "Is this really your sister? She's amazing. Look at those long legs."

"Watch your mouths when you talk!"

"Young Master Ye is truly capable. When are you going to take us out to see the world?"

Ye Tian waved his hand. "I will."

Thinking of his sister, Ye Tian steeled his heart. 'Anyway, you're making money now and even driving a Porsche! You can't just enjoy the high life yourself and ignore your younger brother, can you?'

So, Ye Tian got off his bed and went to the end of the hallway. Without waiting for the call, he took the initiative to dial back.

Whenever night falls in Qiantang, the sun is about to rise in Jinzhou City on the other side of the world.

Ding Quxiao looked at the date; it was already the sixth day of the second martial law period.

The initial joy of Golden State citizens at not having to work was slowly being replaced by a sense of unease.

Some residents even vaguely heard the sound of gunfire.

But these people of the United States simply didn't believe that their powerful country could possibly be invaded by an enemy.

What exactly was the reason?

Of course, the federal government was even more anxious than the public.

The losses from a major economic zone being paralyzed for a single day were immeasurable.

President Evander's mood was becoming increasingly unstable; he had no energy left to handle other affairs.

He could only continuously dispatch troops there.

However, even with Delta Force and SEAL Team 6, the capture operation for those monkeys was still progressing slowly.

In fact, the United States soldiers were already working very hard and responsibly. They slept barely three or four hours a day, searching the jungle with all their might.

But those mutated monkeys seemed to have gained intelligence; they were exceptionally cunning.

The military had used all sorts of means just to kill half of the known number.

As time went on, the monkeys also seemed to start changing their strategy.

Initially, they would take the initiative to attack humans. But now, they were all hunkering down to preserve their strength.

The military commander had no other choice; there was only one day left until the deadline the President had granted him.

The commander thought about it and decided he could only go all-in this once.

He ordered, "Delta, give me the exact coordinates. Call in the missile units and clear the area on a large scale!"

Ding Quxiao was in the kitchen preparing today's lunch.

Fortunately, all three of them were female, so their daily consumption of ingredients wasn't large.

Ding Quxiao was very smart; she didn't touch the food she had stockpiled herself. They only ate the rations distributed by the government.

But Li Wanning was used to a good life; now, facing soybeans and canned meat all day, she found it hard to swallow.

Ding Quxiao said, "Just eat. We don't know what's happening this time. We have to be frugal just in case."

"When this passes, Wanning, Mom, why don't you both come back to our home country with me?"

Li Wanning was used to the freedom here; she naturally didn't want to leave.

But right at that moment, it suddenly felt like the earth was shaking and the mountains were swaying.

Accompanying this was the sound of a massive explosion coming from the distant mountain forests outside the city.

Li Wanning was scared half to death and immediately held her head, hiding under the table.

Ding Quxiao also ducked down, one arm around her daughter and the other shielding her mother.

Once things stabilized slightly, she immediately got up and went to the window to check.

Sure enough, in the distance, there was a bright red glow. Even in the daytime, the fire in the mountain forest was terrifying.

"General Seth, what are you doing!? Why wasn't such a major matter reported!"

President Evander shouted furiously into the phone.

However, General Seth's abilities were beyond doubt; every command he had given in war was unanimously recognized by both military and political circles.

He used a professional military analysis and judgment to explain the situation on the ground to the President.

President Evander was persuaded and sighed. "General Seth, since things have come to this, I won't say more. You had better explain this clearly to the local citizens of Golden State!"

"Yes, Mr. President."

Several combat units wearing nuclear-resistant suits immediately rushed into the sea of fire.

They had to eliminate those monkeys as quickly as possible.

As expected, the general's choice was correct; those damned mutated monkeys were all at their last gasp.

The soldiers pulled out short knives and chopped off the monkeys' heads as if venting their anger.

Then they packed up the carcasses and carried them out of the fire.

After a headcount on-site, all the monkeys that had escaped from the laboratory were captured.

The Mayor of Golden State excitedly announced that everyone only needed to stay in for one more day, and the martial law would be lifted!

Meanwhile, at a certain military base in Japan.

Dr. Noah came out to the balcony alone at night.

Suddenly, a shadow appeared beside him out of nowhere.

"You're here. Are you Dark Covenant?" Dr. Noah said quite calmly.

The black shadow said in a raspy voice, "Hello, Doctor. I've brought the items. These reagents have now become 'untraceable.'"

Under the moonlight, Dr. Noah looked into the distance and smiled. "The red bomb—come back and take it in three days."

Dark Covenant nodded. "Alright, Dr. Noah." Then he vanished from the balcony.

Noah looked at the bag of items Dark Covenant had left behind, picked it up, and returned to his room.

He pulled out his phone and looked at some internal news.

"Heh, those damned monkeys still couldn't hold out."

"But they died for a worthy cause. It proves that my research and control of the 'Disorder Awakening Agent' has truly succeeded! Hahaha!"

The mountain fire in Jinzhou City didn't last long before it was extinguished by the military.

In the end, 'Truth Bombs' were indeed the most reliable. General Seth even regretted not making the decision sooner.

If he had, he wouldn't have had to sacrifice so many of his soldiers.

Special forces were still checking the entire mountain forest; everywhere was the smell of charred burning and the carcasses of animals littering the ground.

They all appeared to be lifeless.

These soldiers had fought for several days and nights; no matter how strong their physical fitness, they had reached their limit.

One of the soldiers used the tip of his rifle to poke at the charred body of a small deer on the ground.

The deer showed no signs of life.

Seeing this, the soldier said into his walkie-talkie, "Are we done? Even the flies here are dead."

A command from the superior came through the walkie-talkie: "Good work, everyone. Withdraw!"

The soldiers were delighted and left one after another.

But what the soldier didn't notice was that on one leg of this charred deer, there were clear marks of being gnawed by sharp teeth, with a large chunk of leg meat torn away.

When the bright moon hung high in the sky, a terrifying scene unfolded. This charcoal-black creature actually opened its eyes under the moonlight.

Then it stood up with difficulty and limped away, vanishing into the desolate distance.
