181: Corruption Rule Realm: A World of Carrion
This is the Nurgle Demon's domain of rules!
A terrifying space that embodies "decay," "stagnation," "plague," and "flesh mutation" to the extreme!
At this moment, the ground of Red Rock Fortress had completely transformed into a constantly writhing swamp of carrion. Innumerable swollen, pus-oozing tumors emerged from the swamp, contracting and expanding like breathing, spewing out deadly spore clouds.
The entire space was filled with rotting limbs, twisted bones, and semi-melted organs, dotting the landscape like reefs, covered in maggots and fungi that glowed with an eerie phosphorescence.
The sky was no longer void, but a dome formed by countless layers of translucent, purplish-black, vascularized carrion fascia, with viscous pus dripping down like foul rain.
Inside the domain, Lin Feng and the Alien Queen immediately felt an all-encompassing, terrifying suppression.
Their speed was slowed by at least thirty percent by the viscous air and the ubiquitous putrid swamp, making every movement exceptionally laborious.
Even more terrifying, a "Power of Rule" of decay, originating from the rule level, infiltrated them relentlessly.
The energy circulation within their bodies became sluggish, like rusty gears.
Their skin began to feel a subtle tingling itch, a sign that their flesh was slowly being eroded and assimilated.
Even their minds were impacted, with thoughts of despair, laziness, and giving up resistance assailing their willpower like maggots clinging to bone.
This was one of the most terrifying abilities of the "Fleshrot World."
The spores, pus, and the rule itself permeating the domain all carried strong "flesh mutation" characteristics.
Any living creature that came into contact with these substances would experience uncontrollable, malignant mutations in their flesh and blood tissues within an extremely short period.
Growing superfluous pus-oozing eyeballs, swelling into gas-filled tumors, limbs softening and twisting, and ultimately, even the entire body melting into a puddle of writhing rotten flesh... This mutation was mandatory, driven by Nurgle's rules of decay, and extremely difficult to resist.
Spores floating in the air would take root upon landing, instantly growing into twisted, sharp-toothed carnivorous plants, or pus-filled flowers that sprayed venom.
Within its own domain, the Nurgle Demon was like returning to its mother's womb.
Its massive body moved through the carrion swamp as if in its element, even absorbing corrupting energy from the swamp to repair itself.
The pus flowing from its body, the toxic gas it spewed, and the swarms of plague flies it summoned all received a terrifying amplification in power.
Each swing of its massive pus-filled weapon was imbued with the Power of Rule, as if space itself was solidified by the rules of decay.
A white-hot battle under domain suppression!
"Damn it!"
Lin Feng's heart sank.
Within the Hidden Moon Realm, his and the Alien Queen's strength, skills, and coordination had undergone a qualitative leap. Lin Feng's use of chaotic rules became more refined and varied, and the Alien Queen's devour-and-merge ability evolved into even more bizarre and powerful forms.
Working together, they had indeed gained the upper hand against the Nurgle Demon before it unleashed its domain, forcing it into a sorry state.
But a domain is a higher-level application of the Power of Rule, a qualitative difference!
As soon as this "Fleshrot World" unfolded, it was as if the sky had fallen and the earth had overturned, the rules rewritten. They instantly transformed from hunters into trapped beasts struggling in a swamp of putrid sea mud!
"Hiss!"
The Alien Queen let out a sharp hiss, filled with rage and a hint of imperceptible dread.
The "Myriad Transformation Appendages" behind her, formed by the Power of Rule of devouring and merging, writhed frantically. Though their speed was suppressed by the domain, their strangeness was even greater.
At times, they condensed into massive bone scythes, slashing at the coiling carrion tentacles with a space-rending shriek.
At other times, they transformed into viscous tentacles covered in suckers, attempting to devour and decompose the carrion.
And at still other times, they splayed out into hundreds of sharp bone spikes, showering the Nurgle Demon's massive body like a rainstorm, seeking its weaknesses.
Her movements remained ghostly in the viscous air, leaving trails of afterimages on the writhing carrion swamp, evading deadly pus sprays and ubiquitous spore infestations.
However, once those appendages, condensed from the Power of Rule, came into contact with the decaying rules permeating the domain, their edges began to show signs of softening and decay, requiring her to constantly expend power to repair and replace them.
Lin Feng was under even greater pressure.
Gray-black chaotic currents swirled around him, twisting and shifting like living things.
He waved his hands rapidly, manipulating the chaotic rules with great skill.
He suddenly pointed at a writhing wall of carrion that rose from the swamp, attempting to engulf them.
The gray-black currents drilled into it like bone-eating maggots. That patch of carrion instantly twitched violently, swelled, and then burst with a "pop," its internal structure completely disrupted by the Power of Chaos, turning into a harmless puddle of mud.
His fingertip pointed at a torrent of pus, imbued with the rules of decay, swung by the Nurgle Demon.
The point of contact instantly became extremely chaotic and disordered. The structure of the pus torrent was forcibly disintegrated, and its energy dissipated chaotically, greatly reducing its power. Only a few scattered drops of pus splashed onto his protective chaotic vortex, emitting a sizzling corrosive sound, but they were quickly annihilated.
Facing a gigantic carrion tentacle, covered in suckers and sharp teeth, that dangled from the dome, Lin Feng brought his hands together, and a gray light blade, composed of pure chaotic energy with constantly twisting and tearing edges, shot out.
Where the light blade passed, space itself showed unstable ripples.
The light blade slashed fiercely at the tentacle. There was no earth-shattering explosion; instead, the part of the tentacle that was struck instantly "boiled," its flesh and blood tissue rapidly proliferating and then instantly collapsing and melting. Finally, a huge gash, with constantly decaying and regenerating edges, was opened, temporarily incapacitating the tentacle.
Lin Feng's chaotic rules, in essence, were "chaos," "disorder," and "entropy increase." To some extent, they could indeed restrain and interfere with the Nurgle Demon's decaying rules, which tended towards "stagnation" and "solidification."
Each successful interference caused a barely perceptible loosening in the domain's suffocating suppressive force.
But the problem was, this was the "Fleshrot World"!
The Nurgle Demon was the master of the domain; it had an almost infinite supply of decaying power as its backing.
Every time Lin Feng unleashed a powerful chaotic rule attack, he had to expend immense mental effort and power to counter the domain's own suppression, while also dividing his attention to resist the pervasive decaying erosion and mental pollution.
His face grew paler and paler, veins bulged on his forehead, and although the gray-black chaotic currents were still active, their range was clearly shrinking.
"Roar!"
The Nurgle Demon let out a deep, thunderous roar, tinged with annoyance at being harmed by mere ants and a playful sense of control.
Its massive body stomped heavily in the carrion swamp.
The entire swamp seemed to come alive, stirring up terrifying giant waves dozens of meters high, composed of rotting flesh, twisted bones, and highly toxic pus, crashing down on the two of them in an overwhelming torrent.
Within the giant waves, countless mutated, twisted corrupt creatures, altered by the domain, roared and lunged out.
It opened its massive mouth, no longer spewing a single type of toxic gas, but a storm of destruction composed of billions of visible plague flies, deadly spores, dark green corrosive acid mist, and runes embodying the rules of decay!
Where the storm passed, even space itself emitted a "sizzling" sound of being slowly corroded.
The carrion tentacles and limbs, severed by Lin Feng's Power of Chaos and torn by the Alien Queen, writhed in the swamp, regenerating rapidly at a visible speed, even becoming thicker and more hideous.
Unless the domain was broken, Nurgle was virtually immortal!
