215: A quiet and peaceful mountain village
Lin Feng's tone carried a hint of teasing, but his eyes were serious.
Using the Fallen Space for a spatial jump was the fastest and most discreet way to reach the coordinates.
Alicia's brows furrowed instantly.
Step into that space filled with decay and blasphemy?
For her, it was tantamount to willingly embracing defilement.
Holy Light instinctively surged around her, forming a barrier of resistance.
She glanced in disgust at the shadowy, twisted Fallen Creatures deep within the rift, their greedy and hungry gazes fixed on her, the sole "source of light."
However, the information left by the Cyborg was too important, concerning the secrets of the Church of Light and everything that had happened in the West during the century she was forced to seal herself away.
She needed answers.
Taking a deep breath, Alicia forcibly suppressed the agitation of the Holy Light within her, and a resolute expression appeared on her beautiful face.
She said nothing, merely nodded slightly, stepped forward, and voluntarily walked into the suffocating Fallen Space.
"Hiss!"
The moment she stepped in, the entire Fallen Space instantly boiled, as if cold water had been poured into a pot of scorching oil!
Countless Fallen Creatures of various forms let out sharp, piercing hisses, like a school of sharks smelling blood, swarming frantically from all directions!
The foul aura of decay, corruption, and blasphemy was so thick it almost materialized, like a billion cold, slimy hands, trying to tear apart Alicia's Holy Light barrier and drag her completely into eternal darkness.
Alicia grunted, her body swaying slightly.
The Holy Light barrier violently fluctuated, emitting an overwhelmed "sizzling" sound, and its glow dimmed at a visible rate.
She bit her lower lip, large beads of sweat rolling down her forehead, as the pure essence of Light and the extreme power of decay engaged in a silent but fierce tug-of-war around her.
Every second was a double torment of will and divine power for her.
"Quiet!"
Lin Feng's cold voice boomed like a clap of thunder, carrying an unquestionable absolute will.
The Alien Queen behind him suddenly raised her hideous head, letting out a low, majestic roar, imbued with the power of a higher-tier Fallen Creature!
An invisible mental shockwave, like a tangible giant hammer, slammed violently into the entire space!
The effect was immediate.
Those Fallen Creatures that had rushed to the edge of Alicia's barrier, their claws almost touching the Holy Light, suddenly froze as if instantly bound by invisible chains.
The frenzied red light in their eyes was replaced by terror, and they let out low, fearful whimpers, retreating with trembling tails like whipped stray dogs, finally prostrating themselves on the ground under the Queen's cold gaze, no longer daring to make the slightest move.
The churning foul aura within the space also seemed to be forcibly suppressed by a giant hand, becoming much more "calm."
Alicia's pressure suddenly decreased; she panted rapidly, and when she looked at Lin Feng and the massive, terrifying Queen beside him, her eyes held an indescribable complexity.
It was apprehension, vigilance, and perhaps... even a trace of an unusual feeling towards this powerful control that she herself hadn't noticed.
"Begin."
Lin Feng said no more, ordering the Fallen Xenomorph to communicate with the Fallen Space.
Soon, the rifts scattered almost everywhere in the Fallen Space began to violently wriggle and contract like the throat of a giant beast.
The target coordinates clearly appeared in his perception.
The Alien Queen's massive body emitted a dark fluctuation, precisely locking onto the weakest node in the spatial structure near the target point.
Buzz!
The space violently twisted, and the view was stretched into blurry, kaleidoscopic lines.
A nauseating sense of weightlessness and spatial dislocation washed over them. Alicia closed her eyes tightly, maintaining her Holy Light barrier with all her might, resisting the even stronger corrosive intrusion during the crossing.
This journey of mere seconds felt like an eternity to her.
When the twisting sensation suddenly disappeared, and the feeling of solid ground beneath her feet returned, a completely different scent filled her nostrils.
Fresh, crisp, carrying the fragrance of earth, grass, and pine needles, and the cool dampness of melting snow from distant mountains.
Alicia suddenly opened her eyes, greedily and deeply inhaling a large gulp of this pure air, as if to completely replace all the remaining decay and filth in her lungs.
A hint of color returned to her pale cheeks from the effort of breathing.
She looked around, and for the first time, her holy eyes clearly reflected astonishment and... a hint of bewilderment.
Before her, it was no longer a gloomy and eerie land of decay, nor any familiar city ruins or battlefield relics that might harbor danger.
This was a peaceful, almost unreal paradise.
They were standing on a gentle slope.
Underfoot was soft, thick green grass, dotted with unknown wildflowers.
In the distance were rolling, majestic mountains covered in pristine white snow, shimmering with sacred silver light under the clear afternoon sun—the Alps!
Typical small houses with steep gables and wooden balconies nestled picturesquely among the valleys and hillsides like scattered pearls.
Cooking smoke curled upwards, blending into the pure blue sky.
Streams babbled, flowing down from the distant snow-capped peaks, sparkling like shattered diamonds in the sun, passing through the village, bringing the rhythm of life.
The air was so clean it seemed to cleanse the soul, and a gentle breeze brought the whispers of pine forests and the crisp chirping of birds.
"The Alps... nearby?"
Lin Feng also raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised. He thought of the Western force Yue Li had mentioned in the Hidden Moon Realm, hidden near the Alps.
"Could it be them?"
"Those 'Knights Templar remnants' Yue Li spoke of, the faction that betrayed their faith?"
What surprised him even more was that the coordinates left by the Cyborg pointed to such a secluded, picturesque mountain village that seemed untouched by the world.
This was far from the secret base full of steel and energy he had envisioned.
However, this tranquility did not last long.
Just as the two had just stood firm and hadn't had time to carefully examine the village, a steady and powerful aura rapidly rose from deep within the village, locking onto them like a precise radar.
A figure broke through the air, moving extremely fast, yet carrying a metallic, slightly heavy texture unique to metal.
The newcomer landed with a thud, kicking up a subtle ripple of air, and stood steadily a few meters in front of Lin Feng and Alicia.
It was the Cyborg from before!
But this time, he was not a phantom projection, but his true, actual body!
He was taller and more robust than the phantom, his nearly two-meter height exuding an oppressive presence.
His exposed left arm and left shoulder were entirely precise constructs of cold, gleaming metal, with faint blue energy patterns flowing at the joints.
His right half was covered in a tough, dark armor resembling a biological exoskeleton, tightly integrated with the mechanical parts.
His head, the left half covered by a silver metal skull and a mechanical eye glowing with a constant red light, while the right half retained human skin and a deep, sharp, weathered brown eye.
His aura was no longer as ethereal as the phantom's, but stable, solid, and as heavy as a mountain, clearly revealing the Epic-level initial stage's oppressive power!
"Renard Iron Anvil, former captain of the Seventh Squad of the Church of Light's Knights Templar, now guardian of the 'Spark' base."
He spoke, his voice deep and magnetic, with a metallic texture, but much smoother and clearer than when he was a phantom.
He bowed slightly, his movements still carrying a hint of mechanical stiffness, but the reverence he showed towards Your Holiness the Saintess, was more genuine and profound than before.
"Welcome, Your Holiness the Saintess, and Mr. Lin Feng. It is an honor for 'Spark' that you two could come."
He made a gesture of invitation, pointing towards a stone slab path leading halfway up the mountain into the village.
"Please follow me; the base entrance is just ahead."
