184: deadly parasite

Just as the corrupted Aza'thoth tilted, its defenses wide open, and all its attention drawn by the intense pain, a dark golden figure, moving so fast it was a mere afterimage, with a deadly stinger, shot out from a corroded rock crevice behind the Alien Queen, like the grim reaper long lurking in the shadows!

It was a Facehugger that had been lurking, waiting for its moment!

It precisely seized this fleeting, perfect opportunity when the Nurgle Demon was at its weakest and its defenses most relaxed!

Ignoring the thin residual toxins in the air, ignoring the corrosive mucus automatically secreted from the Nurgle Demon's body, it shot like an arrow from a bow, arcing perfectly through the air, aiming directly for the Nurgle Demon's gaping maw, which was open in agony and oozing foul saliva!

“Gurgle...?! ”

The Nurgle Demon's single eye seemed to catch that fatal dark gold blur, but the intense pain and imbalance made it utterly unable to perform any evasive maneuvers!

Splat!

The Facehugger's slick yet tough body covered the Nurgle Demon's mouthparts with uncanny precision!

Eight strong, powerful limbs clamped onto the demon's rough, putrid facial skin like steel bands, and its long, powerful tail instantly wrapped around its thick neck, tightening!

The deadly stinger gleamed with a cold light, and without hesitation, it plunged viciously into the relatively soft interior of the Nurgle Demon's mouth!

“Woooo!!!”

The Nurgle Demon's screams instantly turned into muffled, desperate whimpers!

It thrashed its head wildly, its huge claws trying to scratch at the foreign object on its face, but the Facehugger was adhered exceptionally firmly, and its stinger injected potent paralyzing toxins and an Alien embryo into its body!

The paralyzing toxins quickly took effect, and the Nurgle Demon's struggles visibly weakened, the light in its single eye rapidly dissipated, filled with extreme terror and unwillingness.

Its massive body crashed heavily to the ground, kicking up large clouds of dust and gravel, but it could no longer stand up, only emitting muffled and desperate whimpers, its body twitching intermittently.

The writhing of the pustules on its body also became slow and weak.

The terrifying Nurgle Demon, under the unexpected intervention of the Goddess of Life's will, was severely wounded by Lin Feng and the Alien Queen working together, and finally successfully parasitized by the Facehugger!

At this moment, Ya Ya, floating in mid-air, saw the emerald green divine light in her eyes rapidly recede like a tide.

The boundless aura of life also dissipated with it.

Her small body seemed to lose all support, softly falling from the air, her face as pale as paper, her breathing weak, falling into a deep coma.

Forcibly bearing and releasing the divine will that exceeded her limits placed a huge burden on her body and soul.

“Ya Ya!”

Lin Feng didn't bother to check on the Nurgle Demon's condition, he rushed forward in a single stride, carefully catching the falling small figure.

Feeling her weak but steady heartbeat, Lin Feng finally let out a long sigh of relief, his taut nerves finally relaxed, and an indescribable sense of exhaustion instantly swept over his entire body.

He looked up at the sky, which had been purified by the "Blessing of the Goddess of Life"; although still dim, it no longer held that suffocating decay.

The scattered new greenery underfoot was a tenacious testament to life's struggle against decay.

Looking at the Nurgle Demon, which lay collapsed like a small mountain in the distance, parasitized by a Facehugger, Lin Feng's gaze was incredibly complex.

The entire fortress had now become a massive and silent tomb, burying countless souls twisted by the power of the evil god.

However, in stark contrast to this deathly silence was the transformation of the architecture itself.

The fortress buildings—walls, towers, barracks, and residences—which had been eroded by the Nurgle Demon's rules of decay, covered with thick, writhing putrid flesh, oozing pus, and emitting a foul stench, were now completely revitalized!

All the filthy flesh, pustules, and moss-like plague carpets covering them had vanished without a trace.

The rocks and metals, which had been corroded and pitted, with even some structural parts softened and decayed, had now recovered their original solidity and texture.

The reddish-brown stone walls shimmered with a warm luster in the sunlight, as if they had just been meticulously polished.

Although the steel frameworks and weapons were still riddled with cracks and dents from battle, they were completely free of rust and grime, gleaming with a cold metallic light.

The entire fortress complex appeared as if its wounds had been gently smoothed by the hand of time, its filth washed away, restoring its inherent, resilient grandeur, weathered yet unyielding.

However, this "restoration" was not a simple repair, but a complete negation and purification of the "decay" rule by the Law of Life, forcibly "correcting" the distorted material form of the buildings back to their unpolluted state.

The most astonishing changes occurred on the land outside and inside the fortress.

Originally, Red Rock Fortress was an isolated island on the edge of a barren Gobi Desert.

As far as the eye could see, there was only yellow sand, gravel, and sparse, withered drought-resistant plants, a desolate, yellowish landscape.

Now, centered around Red Rock Fortress, a massive, vibrant oasis had miraculously sprung into existence!

The Gobi Desert surrounding the fortress was now covered with a thick, soft carpet of emerald green grass, stretching into the distance like the most luxurious velvet.

Countless unknown wildflowers bloomed in competition among the grass—red, yellow, purple, blue... a riot of colors, interspersed throughout, emitting a fresh scent mixed with the fragrance of earth.

Low shrubs undulated like green waves, their leaves thick and glistening with the light of life.

Further afield, even some young saplings could be seen breaking through the soil, stubbornly stretching their tender branches towards the blue sky.

Inside the fortress, the hard rammed earth ground, originally used for training and assembly, was now covered with a thin, tough layer of moss.

Clusters of green grass and tiny flowers stubbornly pushed through the cracks in the street stones.

In the corners of the city walls and the shaded areas of the towers, various ferns and shade-loving plants grew rapidly on the moist soil, lush and verdant.

The air was filled with the humid scent of a post-rain forest, and the rich life energy almost solidified into mist, refracting colorful halos under the sunlight.

The immense life energy not only purified the decay but also forcibly reversed the "rules" of this land!

It broke through the limitations of the desert environment, forcibly imprinting the law of "flourishing life" upon this land.

Water vapor gathered under the guidance of life energy, nourishing the nascent plants.

The barren sand was made fertile under the catalysis of the Law of Life.

This iron fortress, as if embedded in a massive, vibrant emerald, became a sudden yet incredibly brilliant pearl in the Gobi Desert.

Lin Feng, holding Ya Ya, stepped on the soft green grass, feeling the vigorous life emanating from beneath his feet.

At the same time, the Nurgle Demon, parasitized nearby, was already completely covered by a layer of thick, dark green biological tissue... Lin Feng's gaze finally settled on the enormous "cocoon" at the center of the battlefield.

There, once, was the Nurgle Demon's burial place.

Now, the demon's colossal remains, like a small mountain, emitting endless stench and decaying aura, were completely covered by a thick, constantly pulsating dark green biological tissue.

The surface of this tissue was covered with thick, twisted veins, like tree roots or blood vessels, presenting a horrifying color reminiscent of decaying internal organs.

The activated putrid flesh and a conglomerate of plague carpet emitted an aura of decay that was even purer and more concentrated than that of the Nurgle Demon itself!

Lin Feng and the Alien Queen clearly sensed that the Facehugger inside the Nurgle Demon was undergoing a monumental transformation.

A brand new, powerful, and evil life force was brewing and growing within it, greedily devouring everything remaining of the Nurgle Demon—not just its flesh and energy, but also its core Powers of Rule such as "decay," "plague," and "proliferation"!

The dark green veins pulsed and flowed like living things; with each pulsation, a visible dark green halo with decaying fluctuations emanated.

As the halo swept across the ground, the green grass and fresh flowers, spurred by the Goddess of Life's blessing, instantly withered and decayed, turning to ash, leaving behind patches of scorched, dead earth.

But at the same time, beneath the Nurgle Demon's body, new, twisted, dark green "moss" covered with pustules and mycelia spread wildly across the scorched earth.

As the matriarch of her species, she instinctively sensed that this newly emerging individual would possess a terrifying potential beyond any previous Alien.

Time flowed in silence and pulsation.

Days later, when Lin Feng and the Alien Queen approached again, the life pulsation within the massive Nurgle body had reached its peak intensity!

Boom!

A dull, thunderous roar!

The entire dark green giant pupa suddenly contracted inward, as if squeezed by an invisible giant hand!

Rip!!!

A blinding, ghastly green light blade, like a lightning bolt cleaving the heavens and earth, suddenly tore out from the top of the pupa!
