205: Twelve-winged Archangel: Angel of Warning Elian
At the center of the battlefield, the high-tier beings' battle had reached a fever pitch, locked in a terrifying stalemate.
Although the Six-Winged Seraph's purifying Sacred Flame could incinerate all things, the Infernal Lord's Hellfire Lava Core seemed connected to an endless abyss; any incinerated parts could rapidly draw power from the earth veins to regenerate.
At the same time, its massive hammer, imbued with the rule of "destruction," caused the pure light of the Seraph's Sacred Light Shield to intensely vibrate with every strike, and even tiny, hard-to-heal scorch marks began to appear on the angel's wings.
The Cherub's Chains of Order were constantly corroded and rusted by the Plague Archdemon's decaying poison clouds, while the Plague Archdemon's soul shrieked in agony under the Cherub's Edict of Judgment, causing large swaths of the plague spores that formed its body to lose vitality.
Amidst the Howling Soul Lord's psychic shriek, the Sacred Light Steeds of the Throne Angel's chariot neighed uneasily, and the chariot's radiance visibly dimmed.
The Howling Soul Lord's body, composed of souls, was also continuously scorched and evaporated by the Sacred Light trail of the Throne Angel's chariot, emitting countless overlapping, mournful wails.
The Gate of Heaven and Cave of Hell continued to pour forth troops, but the rate of replenishment seemed to be unable to keep up with the terrifying rate of consumption on the high-tier battlefield.
The golden torrent of the Angel Legion was firmly held back by the boundless black tide of demons, unable to advance even half a step towards the core area of Cave of Hell.
Conversely, the demonic frenzy also failed to breach the Angel Legion's resilient Sacred Light barrier, threatening the Gate of Heaven itself.
The entire battlefield was like a massive, constantly bleeding wound; space wailed, and the planes trembled.
The scales of victory seemed to sway in the duels between the most elite Six-Winged Angels and the high-ranking Demon Lords.
If any one of the top-tier combatants were defeated, it could trigger a chain collapse!
Just at this critical, suffocatingly tense moment... "Boom!!!"
A dull, indescribable thud, as if the heart of the entire universe had been violently struck, suddenly erupted from within the high-hanging Gate of Heaven!
This sound transcended physical boundaries, acting directly on the soul level of all beings!
Whether it was the angels and demons locked in battle, the surviving saints cursing in despair, or even the irrational Fallen Creatures and Aberrations, their souls violently shook in that instant, and their movements froze for a moment!
The entire boiling battlefield, filled with the noise of destruction, fell into an absolute dead silence for a ten-thousandth of a second due to this colossal sound!
Immediately after, an indescribable aura, more vast, ancient, pure, and... terrifying than all the Six-Winged Angels combined, surged forth from the swirling golden depths of the Gate of Heaven, like a sleeping star awakening!
This aura was no longer the warm light of salvation, but rather one of absolute, undeniable judgment and authority, as if it sought to reshape the very foundations of the world!
"Hiss, hiss, hiss!"
The first to bear the brunt were hundreds of low to mid-tier demons directly beneath the Gate of Heaven, who were gathering and preparing to charge the Angel Legion above!
They had no time to react, not even to let out a scream.
The moment this terrifying aura swept over them, their bodies, composed of sulfur, lava, bones, or shadows, disintegrated and sublimated from the most basic particle level, like snow exposed to the scorching sun!
They were not purified, nor were they incinerated, but rather directly erased by a higher-level "negation of existence"!
Hundreds of demons, including several powerful mid-tier demons, silently turned into wisps of smoke and completely vanished under the gaze of countless eyes on the battlefield!
Only an unusually "clean" area remained, where even the lingering smell of sulfur and fallen aura had been forcibly dispelled!
This sudden, overwhelming destruction choked the entire Demon Legion!
The frenzied offensive visibly stalled.
And the high-hanging Gate of Heaven, after the colossal sound and terrifying aura erupted, saw its flowing divine runes at the edges suddenly become incredibly bright and complex; at the center of the swirling golden light, something unimaginable, vaster than mountains, was arduously yet incredibly firmly... squeezing through the final, most resilient spatial barrier!
An oppressive force, truly belonging to the "divine" realm, which made all Six-Winged Angels solemn and all high-ranking Demon Lords feel a sense of dread, began to slowly spread like a tangible tsunami...
On the ruins of the Holy City, the surviving saints, who had just felt a glimmer of hope rise due to the demons' instantaneous disintegration, were utterly crushed by this new, supreme pressure before they could even ponder what the aura meant, prostrating themselves on the ground, completely losing even the strength to curse, leaving only an extreme tremor deep within their souls, stemming from the primal instinct of life.
Deep within Cave of Hell, the massive demonic claw, wreathed in dark red hellfire, which had been continuously impacting the spatial barrier, suddenly paused.
Immediately, an even more furious, more insane roar, as if from the deepest reaches of the Nine Hells, exploded from the bottom of the cavern, like the shriek of a billion vengeful spirits mixed with world-ending thunder!
The entire Cave of Hell pulsed violently like a heart; the dark purple "flesh" covering the entrance proliferated and writhed wildly, attempting to reinforce the barrier that was about to be torn apart!
Heaven and Hell, their true sovereign powers, were about to break their final restraints and personally descend upon this battlefield of the end!
Above the firmament, the magnificent gate constructed of pure Sacred Light finally let out a wail of unbearable strain.
Cracks, like a glazed surface struck by an invisible giant hammer, instantly covered the entire gate.
The cracks were not black, but flowed with a dazzling, pale light that seemed capable of scorching the soul.
"CRACK—SMASH—!"
A colossal shattering sound, transcending all physical laws, slammed into the depths of every being's consciousness on the battlefield; whether angels, demons, or the twisted Fallen Xenomorphs, their movements froze for an instant.
The massive Gate of Heaven, under the gaze of billions of horrified eyes, exploded with a thunderous roar!
The fragments were not solid rock or metal, but disintegrated into countless tiny, burning pale-flame light shards, like the death of billions of miniature stars, scattering and annihilating in all directions.
At the center of this destruction, a being descended.
The first thing to enter "sight" was light.
Twelve vast, boundless wings of light were not physical, but interwoven from countless flowing, ceaselessly shifting, and terrifyingly complex chains of runic laws!
They unfurled like twelve cosmic rivers spanning the universe; their light was not the warm white of salvation, but a cold, absolute, pale light imbued with judgment.
The unfurling of each wing of light was accompanied by the piercing wail of space being forcibly torn and distorted; the void behind him left unhealing, ghastly pale crack, like blood weeping from the heavens.
Wherever this light reached, all beings on the battlefield below a certain power level—whether the glowing wings of low-tier angels, the fel fire burning on demons, or even the dim reflections of Fallen Xenomorph carapaces—instantly dimmed, like candlelight meeting the midday sun, utterly suppressed and stripped of their existential color.
At the center of the light was the Admonishing Angel, Elian.
He wore a robe woven from pure light, upon which flowed countless tiny, constantly appearing and disappearing geometric patterns, the concretization of cosmic rules.
His face was shrouded in absolute radiance, indistinct, with only a pair of eyes clearly visible.
These were not eyes that mortals could possess; they were more like two cold stars eternally burning in pale flames!
Deep within his pupils was an indifference colder than the deepest cosmic night; his pupils, flickering with pale Sacred Flames, gazed down at the turbulent battlefield as if scrutinizing a group of vile ants about to be utterly purged.
Divine majesty and absolute will for judgment, like a tangible tsunami, swept across the entire Vatican and even further worlds from the moment of his descent.
Time and space around him became viscous and sluggish, as if submitting to this supreme embodiment of law.
In one of his hands, he held an object that was less a weapon and more a condensation of his own power: the Horn of Finality.
It was composed of an indescribable pale crystal, somewhere between matter and energy, with a surface as smooth as a mirror, yet it seemed to be constantly collapsing inward, devouring the surrounding light.
The horn's curved arc possessed a desperate, final beauty; its mere existence caused the surrounding space to groan under the strain, as if it could completely collapse at any moment.
Elian's gaze, those eyes like frozen stars burning with pale Sacred Flames, did not linger for a moment on the ant-like struggle of the battlefield below.
His sight, like two cold rays spanning dimensions, instantly pierced through the chaotic battlefield, through the surging demonic tide, through the distance of space, and fixated firmly on Cave of Hell, which floated above the ruins of St. Peter's Basilica and continuously spewed forth filth and sulfurous aura!
