30: Will Chapter 30 continue to be a hit?

"Look at your lack of ambition, sit down and talk!"

Shen Li pressed down on Zhao Yang's shoulders, making him sit in her chair.

She then twisted her hips and sat on the large office desk, looking down at Zhao Yang.

Her deep cleavage was visible.

Zhao Yang's mind buzzed, and he quickly turned his face away.

If Director Yuan were to walk in on this, let alone a promotion, he wouldn't have a single good day ahead.

"Don't worry, Director Yuan won't come by at this time."

Shen Li knew that if she kept teasing him, Zhao Yang would surely run away in a panic.

She chuckled, straightened her posture, and said seriously:

"Don't overthink it; this 100,000 yuan has nothing to do with Qicheng Group.

"After everything was settled yesterday, I told Director Yuan privately that without Zhao Yang, this advertisement would never have been secured.

"We're eating the meat, and we won't even let him have the soup? Is that right?

"Director Yuan agreed immediately and said the reason for the payout would be a reward for advertising revenue generation."

Zhao Yang curled his lip, "When it comes down to it, it still has to do with Qicheng Group!"

"Are you stupid! This is a reward from the Television Station to you. Whether you take it or not, Qicheng Group's advertising payment will still be deposited into the Television Station's account anyway!"

Shen Li lowered her voice, clearly sounding frustrated by his lack of understanding.

She wanted to raise her hand and rap Zhao Yang on his thick skull.

Zhao Yang wasn't stupid; he was just cautious.

Since Shen Li had explained it so thoroughly, there was no need to refuse anymore.

"Thank you, Sister Li, I'll treat you to a big meal tonight!"

Zhao Yang stood up and expressed his gratitude sincerely.

The reason he stood up was that sitting under those two bright headlights was too stressful.

"Take your meager savings and use them to make Yawen happy instead." Shen Li gave him a sidelong glance.

"I broke up with her." Zhao Yang's tone was flat, devoid of emotion.

"Broke up? No wonder! I was wondering why I've been seeing her with Director Xiong Bo these past few days."

Shen Li's gossip instinct was instantly piqued, and she pressed:

"She didn't dump you, did she? To be honest, the girl is pretty, but her judgment is poor; she's too snobbish. As for me, I'm quite optimistic about your future."

Although they had broken up, they had been together for five years, and Zhao Yang didn't want to badmouth Su Yawen behind her back:

"Maybe after being together for so long, she felt bored. Who she chooses is her freedom."

"It's best if you think that way." Shen Li looked up at Zhao Yang, her tone becoming serious.

"Your reward, as well as your promotion to Deputy Director of the News Department, will be discussed at this morning's Television Station administrative meeting."

Zhao Yang had performed exceptionally well in this exposé report, and there was a clear intention in Shen Li's words to win him over.

"The promotion might still need further discussion; the Television Station leaders need to consider suitable candidates comprehensively.

"You must not cause any trouble recently because of relationship issues."

As expected of someone close to the Director, she really knew a lot.

Zhao Yang raised an eyebrow, "Suitable candidates? Does that include External Propaganda Group Leader Dong Peng and Interview Group 1 Leader Cui Hao?"

To promote a Deputy Director of the News Department, they would mostly select from those who understood news operations; this wasn't hard to guess.

Dong Peng and Cui Hao had both been at the Television Station for over ten years, and their seniority far exceeded his own.

Compared to them, Zhao Yang had no advantage.

Moreover, Li Hongyi was the leader in charge; his word was crucial.

The stock he recommended hadn't turned a profit yet, and Li Hongyi, being greedy for money and lustful, certainly wouldn't stand on his side right now.

Seeing Zhao Yang's expression shifting between cloudy and sunny, appearing worried, Shen Li quickly gave him some reassurance:

"Your brain isn't too dull. Among the three, you are the biggest variable. But don't worry, Director Yuan will fully support you."

The problem was, Director Yuan had already approved 100,000 yuan for him.

The two Vice Directors, the Secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, and the Office Director, who was a member of the leadership team—these four were surely somewhat unhappy.

When leaders discuss personnel appointments, who to use and who not to, there is a lot of nuance involved; it is often a redistribution of interests.

Yuan Gang had fought for 100,000 yuan for him, so he would likely make concessions on the personnel appointment.

Zhao Yang couldn't help but ask: "Will the matter of promoting the Deputy Director be decided today?"

Shen Li looked at him seriously and couldn't help but laugh:

"Personnel appointments are only being discussed for the first time; how could such a thing be decided in one meeting? There will definitely be back-and-forth wrangling."

"Sister Li is indeed well-informed." Zhao Yang felt much more at ease and gave Shen Li a thumbs up.

"It would be best if Director Yuan could drag it out for a few more days; I'll think of a way to handle Director Li."

"Oh, when did you get so clever?" Shen Li jumped off the desk and patted Zhao Yang on the shoulder:

"Leave this to me, go do your work."

This woman could really talk; before he knew it, nearly two hours had passed.

By this time, the Television Station administrative meeting had long since ended.

When Zhao Yang left the Advertising Department Director's office, he happened to run into Li Hongyi in the hallway.

He was coming out of his office to dump leftover tea leaves in the pantry.

Upon seeing Zhao Yang, he immediately stopped in his tracks.

"Xiao Zhao, come to my office for a moment!"

Judging by his tone, he didn't seem very happy.

Zhao Yang wondered: Why does Old Li have that expression? It's like I cuckolded him.

Associating the word "cuckold" (green hat), Zhao Yang's heart skipped a beat.

I went to see Shen Li, is he jealous?

If anyone should be jealous, it should be Director Yuan; when did it become your turn, Old Li?

Zhao Yang guiltily approached and asked in a low voice: "Director Li, what's up?"

Li Hongyi kept a sullen face, turned, and walked to his desk.

Zhao Yang had no choice but to follow him in and carefully close the door.

Damn it, this small unit of forty-something people is really complicated.

Speaking a few extra words to anyone would spark endless speculation from others.

Li Hongyi pointed at the computer screen, "What's going on? The market just opened, and it's already down three points! But Yinguangxia is still rising."

It wasn't that his head was green (cuckolded), it was that the stock was green (fell).

Zhao Yang immediately felt relieved and tried hard to recall the historical trend of ST Huangheke.

Before the final wave of growth in 2001, this stock had a small consolidation period.

After the adjustment ended, it rose all the way, driving the price directly from 13 yuan to around 23 yuan.

With a clear understanding, he said nonchalantly:

"Director Li, you might as well let the bullets fly for a while longer."

"Hmm?" Li Hongyi raised an eyebrow, not understanding.

Careless, he was used to saying that in his past life. Zhao Yang quickly explained:

"It just means don't be anxious, just wait a bit longer. Stocks are just like people; sometimes they crouch slightly in order to jump higher."

"I don't need you to teach me." Li Hongyi's expression improved slightly, but he still felt uneasy.

Zhao Yang figured that although Li Hongyi had bought ST Huangheke, he hadn't gone all-in as he had suggested.

First, the other party didn't trust him that much, and second, mature investors generally don't operate with a full position.

He looked at Li Hongyi with a smile, "Director Li, you didn't buy this stock entirely, did you? Today is the last chance."

Seeing him speak so definitively, Li Hongyi felt a little more at ease, and he waved his hand at Zhao Yang:

"Go do your work, I'll buy some more."

Zhao Yang returned to his office, opened his stock account, and began the bank-securities transfer.

Sure enough, there was an extra 100,000 yuan in the account.

What else was there to say? Put it all into ST Huangheke.

If he remembered correctly, starting tomorrow, this stock would make a strong upward push.

For the next month, it would be a continuous rally.

After finishing the stock operations, his mobile phone began to buzz on the desk.

Caller ID: Jiang Nan.
