33: 1:0 Tottenham

The match has begun!

Everyone expected Hartlepool United to set up a defensive wall.

Including the Tottenham players.

But reality hit them hard.

Just thirty seconds after kickoff, Vardy launched a furious press in the attacking third.

His speed and fighting spirit caught Ledley King off guard.

The England international's hurried backpass lacked power and was almost intercepted by Vardy.

"What's going on?"

Tottenham fans in the stands voiced their confusion.

They hadn't expected these League Two youngsters to be so arrogant at White Hart Lane.

On the right wing, Snodgrass also displayed extraordinary enthusiasm.

Facing Pascal Chimbonda, an experienced French defender, the Scotland winger showed no fear.

Every time he received the ball, he dared to break through, and every run was full of threat.

In the 5th minute, Snodgrass successfully broke free from Chimbonda's defense on the wing.

His cross was headed clear by Michael Dawson, but Hartlepool United's attack was already putting pressure on the Tottenham players.

"Are these kids crazy?"

Chimbonda panted, fine beads of sweat trickling down his forehead.

He hadn't expected such high-intensity pressing in an away game.

In midfield, the defensive midfield pairing of Mark Tinkler and Gary Liddle performed excellently.

The two constantly intercepted and distributed the ball near the center circle.

Every tackle quickly launched a counter-attack.

The Tottenham players began to panic.

They had originally thought this would be an easy match.

But reality caught them off guard.

In the 8th minute, Tinkler intercepted Tom Huddlestone's pass in midfield.

The tackle was clean and decisive, giving the opponent no time to react.

The ball rolled towards the center, and Sigurdsson quickly followed up.

The moment the Iceland teenager received the ball, the air in the entire White Hart Lane stadium solidified.

Tom Huddlestone pressed forward, but it was too late.

Sigurdsson had already adjusted his shooting posture.

Thirty-five meters from the goal.

The angle was slightly to the right.

But for this Iceland prodigy, who had already proven himself in the EFL Trophy, this distance was his optimal shooting range.

No run-up, no fancy moves.

Sigurdsson struck almost from a standstill, powerfully using the inside of his right foot.

The ball whistled out like a cannonball.

White Hart Lane stadium instantly fell silent.

Thirty-six thousand fans held their breath, watching the ball arc perfectly through the air.

Paul Robinson stood on the goal line, the England international's body completely rigid.

He didn't even make any attempt to save it.

Not that he didn't want to, but he couldn't react in time.

The ball, with strong spin, flew into the top-left corner of the goal.

The net rippled.

0-1!

White Hart Lane stadium plunged into a deathly silence.

Thirty-six thousand Tottenham fans gaped, their eyes filled with disbelief.

In the away stands, a few hundred Hartlepool United fans jumped wildly.

Their voices, at this moment, drowned out everyone else.

"Goooooooool!"

Sigurdsson ran towards the corner flag, arms outstretched, facing the away stands.

His sixteen-year-old face beamed with an innocent yet dominant smile.

His teammates wildly embraced the Iceland prodigy.

Vardy leaped high, hugging Sigurdsson tightly.

"Gylfi! You're a genius! An absolute genius!"

Schmeichel cheered with raised arms in the backfield, the Denmark goalkeeper's voice piercing through the entire stadium.

In the commentary box, Martin Tyler had completely lost his composure.

"My God! What is happening?!"

His voice became shrill with excitement.

"Gylfi Sigurðsson! Another world-class strike!"

"Hartlepool United are leading Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane!"

"This is a fairy tale! A sixteen-year-old Iceland teenager, scoring such a brilliant goal at the home of a Premier League giant!"

Guest commentator Gary Neville took the microphone, his voice also trembling.

"Tottenham are completely stunned! They underestimated their opponents too much!"

"The power and accuracy of Sigurdsson's shot are incredible!"

"I dare say, he will become a top star!"

The Tottenham players on the field exchanged glances.

They couldn't accept such a start.

Robbie Keane held his head in his hands, his eyes filled with frustration.

Berbatov paced back and forth near the center circle, the Bulgarian's face ashen.

Martin Jol frantically waved his arms on the sidelines.

The Dutch coach hadn't expected such a blow at home.

"Wake up! All of you, wake up!"

His shouts echoed across the stadium, but with little effect.

The impact of the conceded goal was too heavy.

What made it even harder for the Tottenham players to accept was that the goal came from a sixteen-year-old League Two youngster.

This psychological shock was even more fatal than being behind on the scoreboard.

In the box, Lin Feng slowly applauded.

A satisfied smile played on his face.

Everything was developing as expected.

The [Tactical Analysis Module] showed that the Tottenham players' mentality had significantly fluctuated.

[Player Performance Exceeded Expectations]

Old John was so excited on the sidelines that he was incoherent.

He couldn't believe any of this was real.

Less than ten minutes into the game, they were leading at White Hart Lane.

This feeling was even more dreamlike than beating Everton.

"Stay calm! Don't let up!"

He shouted at the players on the field, his voice hoarse with excitement.

Tottenham's counter-attack arrived as expected.

They awoke from their stupor after conceding and began to show the strength expected of a Premier League team.

Berbatov's footwork began to show its power.

Every time the Bulgarian received the ball, it carried a deadly threat.

Robbie Keane made frequent runs in the attacking third, the Ireland striker's instincts still sharp.

In the 15th minute, Keane received a pass in the box, turned, and shot.

The shot was angled sharply and powerful.

But Schmeichel once again displayed superhuman reflexes.

The Denmark goalkeeper flew to save, tipping the ball over the crossbar with one hand.

"Schmeichel! It's Schmeichel again!"

Martin Tyler's voice was full of renewed energy.

"This save was incredibly difficult!"

"Schmeichel is in superb form today!"

Tottenham earned a corner kick.

Ledley King leaped high in the box, heading the ball towards goal.

The ball flew straight towards the bottom right corner.

Schmeichel made another world-class save.

He slid along the ground, his entire body hugging the turf, and firmly held the ball with both hands.

White Hart Lane stadium erupted in applause.

Even the home fans couldn't help but cheer for the young goalkeeper's performance.

In the 22nd minute, Berbatov received the ball at the edge of the box.

The Bulgarian's footwork was a work of art.

After two consecutive feints, he eluded Liddle's defense.

Then, a powerful shot flew towards the top corner of the goal.

Schmeichel displayed superhuman reactions for the third time.

He leaped into the air, and the moment his fingertips touched the ball, he slightly deflected it.

The ball hit the crossbar and bounced out.

"Unbelievable! Absolutely unbelievable!"

Gary Neville's voice was already hoarse.

"Schmeichel with three consecutive miraculous saves!"

"He is simply Hartlepool United's guardian angel today!"

Tottenham's attack became increasingly fierce.

But Hartlepool United's defense, under Schmeichel's command, was as solid as a rock.

Every crisis was resolved, every shot was saved.

In the 35th minute, the biggest crisis arrived.

Keane received a cross inside the six-yard box, facing Schmeichel with a point-blank shot.

This was a sure goal opportunity.

But Schmeichel completely blocked the shooting angle with his body.

Keane's shot hit his chest and bounced out of the box.

The Ireland striker held his head in his hands, his eyes filled with despair.

The continuous missed opportunities began to subtly change the Tottenham players' mentality.

Impatience began to spread through the team.

Passes started to go astray, and runs were no longer as precise.

This psychological fluctuation was exactly what Hartlepool United wanted to see.

In the 40th minute, Hartlepool United's counter-attack once again created a threat.

Vardy intercepted Dawson's pass in the attacking third and immediately launched a counter-attack.

His speed completely exploded at this moment.

His legs pumped rapidly, each stride striking fear into the Tottenham defenders' hearts.

Although this counter-attack didn't result in a shot, the threat had already terrified the Tottenham players.

"Vardy's speed is terrifying!"

Martin Tyler's voice carried admiration.

"Tottenham's defense simply can't keep up with his pace!"

The referee looked at his watch and raised his right hand, signaling two minutes of added time.

The first half was about to end.

Tottenham launched a final attack.

Berbatov received the ball at the edge of the box, and facing tight defense, the Bulgarian chose to shoot from long range.

The ball grazed the post and flew out for a goal kick.

After added time, the referee's whistle blew.

Halftime, Hartlepool United 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur.

The players walked towards the changing room tunnel.

Sigurdsson led the way, the Iceland teenager's face beaming with a confident smile.

That world-class goal not only shocked England football but also gave him a new understanding of himself.

Vardy followed closely, his eyes burning with even more fervent fighting spirit.

His first-half performance made him even more eager to prove himself on this stage.

Schmeichel was the last to leave the field.

The Denmark goalkeeper looked back at the White Hart Lane pitch, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction.

The continuous miraculous saves had given him the ultimate pleasure of being a goalkeeper.
