106: Hero unit expansion

Three battalions of soldiers were quickly stationed at Hongshan University and began to launch offensives outward, reclaiming the surrounding streets of the Old City District.

After several rounds of looting and the continuous income from the silver mine in Tengqiao Town, Yongjiang County, Jiang Xin's funds reached 300,000, along with 200 hero badges.

There were originally over thirty civilian Evolvers in the base. Including the Evolvers from Hongshan University, there were now over sixty. Although the top combat power still resided within the Red Alert Legion, the Legion only had about a dozen Evolvers (Zhang Lei, Zhang Long, Tanya, Li Wei, Chen Hao, Li Ang, Chen Xiao, Shen Nan, Li Hong, Yang Wen, Blaze Ash, Yang Yi, Lin Yufei, Xiong Da, Xiong Er, Howling Heaven, and Earthsplitter), which was still insufficient to suppress the civilian Evolvers.

Jiang Xin first built 10 War Bears (8,000 funds), assigning 2 to each battalion, and then expanded the Flametrooper and Tesla Trooper units.

The battle to attack the city district and the encounter with the Diamond Zombie gave him a strong sense of crisis; the team had to have experts capable of countering powerful zombies.

War Bears and mechs were the best choice. Even if Flametroopers and Tesla Troopers who became hero units didn't have particularly powerful Superpowers, they could rely on their mechs to contend with powerful individual zombies of the same rank. As for the War Bears, there was no need to say more; killing zombies of the same rank was as easy as chopping melons and vegetables.

With a wave of his hand, Jiang Xin directly built 20 Flametroopers and 20 Tesla Troopers, costing 28,000 funds.

There were 264,000 funds remaining.

He added 4 Intruder Light Fighters, 2 Black Eagle Heavy Fighters, and 6 hind attack helicopters, totaling 44,000 funds. The air force was further equipped with 200 Conscripts as ground crew. Including the previous 60, there were now 260 in total. The air force commander remained Li Yi, with Air Wing Vice-Captain Liu Jiang.

At this point, 200,000 funds remained. Jiang Xin did not use them, as he had other plans.

With 200 hero badges, his plan was to summon the ace Sniper Natasha and promote a group of veterans to hero units.

The promotion list included Conscripts: Su Jin, Lu Hang, Zhou strong, and Zhang Lin.

Heavy Infantry: Yang Ning.

Air Force: Li Yi and Air Wing Vice-Captain Liu Jiang (pilots cost the same as Conscripts).

Two Military Dogs and 8 Heavy Infantrys (unnamed).

The 8 Heavy Infantrys would be assigned to the mech unit, led by Yang Yi as captain and Blaze Ash as vice-captain. The 20 Flametroopers and 20 Tesla Troopers also belonged to the mech unit.

The Superpowers obtained by each officer were as follows:

Su Jin: Transforms into a Green Giant, possessing immense strength and formidable defense.

Lu Hang: Obtained Wood Element Ability, allowing him to control plants, including but not limited to driving plants to fight and accelerating their growth.

Zhou Lie: Flame Fist. His arms gain a flame enchantment, as if wearing flaming gauntlets, with great power.

Zhang Lin: Water Summoner. His life-bound summoned beast is a water-attribute giant crocodile.

Yang Ning: Obtained the ability to enchant himself and his weapons with Earth attribute energy, which can be applied to armor. Compared to Chen Hao's Metal Element, his defense is stronger while his attack is slightly weaker. (Not assigned to the mech unit.)

Li Yi: Wind Element Mage.

Liu Jiang: Water Element Mage.

(Military Dog Superpowers are not recorded.)

(I will no longer record the Superpowers of most Red Alert soldiers hereafter; the core team consists of these soldiers who have already appeared. Some experts will be arranged among the civilian Evolvers, as given the population base, the world would collapse without civilian experts. However, as one of the dual protagonists, Zhang Lei will be in a league of his own.)
