67: Deployment of large-scale bases
The battle at the industrial park had settled, and the clearing process went far more smoothly than expected.
The saturation bombing by twelve armed helicopters, combined with the crushing advance of the fifteen steel beasts (5 rhino tanks, 10 grizzly tanks) subsequently deployed, swept away the remaining zombies like autumn leaves.
Amidst the ruins and smoke, the soldiers combed through every corner, eventually gathering hundreds of emaciated survivors whose eyes were filled with a mixture of fear and ecstasy.
In this massive industrial park that once housed tens of thousands of workers, after more than a month of apocalyptic catastrophe, only a mere six or seven hundred people had struggled to survive, and the air was filled with the sorrow and dead silence of those who had escaped death.
Jiang Xin did not linger; he instructed the helicopters to act immediately, sending Wang Kun, Gold Dragon, and the survivors back to the Yongjiang County base in batches.
The reason was simple—he needed to deploy this brand new, unimaginable base.
The spectacle of instant construction would be too troublesome to explain, and the secrets of the Red Alert system were absolutely core and could not be leaked in the slightest.
Watching the last chinook carrying survivors disappear into the lead-gray skyline, Jiang Xin took a deep breath, his burning gaze sweeping across the scorched earth ravaged by war before him.
"Number 1, deploy the base!" he silently thought, his will firm.
Hum—! —! —! —! —!
An invisible wave instantly spread outward.
Immediately after, a jaw-dropping scene occurred: the dilapidated factory buildings, twisted pipes, and collapsed office buildings in the industrial park... like reflections cast into water, began to rapidly blur, become transparent, and finally vanish completely into the air without a sound!
It was as if an invisible giant hand had completely "reset" this land that had weathered so much.
In the center of the blurred area, a huge, absolutely flat open space was revealed.
Then, as if a miracle had descended, countless architectural structures shimmering with metallic luster and energy streams began to "grow" out of nothingness!
They were not built in the traditional sense, but rather resembled the folding and shaping of space itself.
Solid alloy foundations spread out like living things, towering walls rose from the ground, and complex pipes and circuits automatically extended and connected like neural pathways... layer by layer, section by section, and building by building, structures full of sci-fi flavor rose from nothing at a speed visible to the naked eye!
Throughout the entire process, there was no harsh noise, only a low hum that seemed to come from the depths of space.
One hour later, a towering, cold, and massive city radiating a futuristic metallic luster stood upon the ruins!
It was like a dormant steel beast, and its sheer scale left all the Evolvers and soldiers present, including Zhang Lei, Chen Hao, and Tanya, who had witnessed the entire process, in a state of unspeakable shock and stupor.
Although everyone was a soldier or hero summoned by the system, they all possessed real bodies and souls, and they were still amazed by such a shocking scene.
"Good heavens... this..." Chen Hao's mouth hung open, and the fingers of his destroyer mech unconsciously clenched and unclenched, emitting a faint sound of metal friction.
"A miracle..." Li Ang held his sniper rifle, his eyes behind his lenses wide open, muttering to himself.
Tanya's red lips parted slightly, also deeply impacted by this scene that defied common sense.
She subconsciously touched the Valkyrie twin pistols at her waist, as if confirming whether she was in a dream.
The ice and fire wings behind Zhang Lei unconsciously spread and retracted slightly, feeling the majestic energy field and sense of order radiating from this new city; he knew of the great power of the system possessed by Jiang Xin, but he was equally shocked.
What a magnificent sci-fi fortress this large-scale base was!
With an area of 30 square kilometers (5 km x 6 km), it resembled a miniature steel kingdom.
Surrounding it were 15-meter-high concrete and alloy walls that snaked for a massive 22 kilometers!
Every 250 meters, a grim defensive structure stood on the wall—either a sentry gun with thick rotating barrels or a Machine Gun Bunker with dense, dark gun muzzles—they were cross-configured, weaving a web of deathly firepower.
The four huge alloy gates in the east, west, south, and north had an additional eight powerful Machine Gun Bunkers installed on the gatehouses, forming an impregnable fortress.
Even more amazing was that a 10-meter-wide moat appeared out of thin air, surrounding the city walls; the water was clear yet bottomless, shimmering in the sunlight—this was water accessed using Red Alert chrono-technology, never-ending, becoming an insurmountable natural barrier.
Military Zone: The heart of this steel fortress.
8 huge modern Barracks; 2 Power Plants radiating stable energy fluctuations; 2 War Factories with open gates, their sci-fi domed workshops reflecting blazing light;
2 Air Command Center towers towering into the clouds; inside, multiple fighter runways were interwoven, along with multiple helicopter and fighter aircraft landing pads.
A large Training Ground, vast and flat, enough to accommodate ten thousand people for drills; ammunition supply stations stacked full of standard containers; a dish antenna of an enhanced radar rotating slowly, its detection range reaching a terrifying 800 kilometers, enough to cover the entire Xijiang Province battlefield;
The building lines of the research base were smooth and mysterious; most eye-catching was the giant cannon standing in the core area, its thick and long barrel pointing diagonally at the sky, exuding an aura of world-destroying power;
And ten Patriot Missile Silos, like dormant vipers, had their covers slightly open, revealing the pointed warheads waiting to be launched inside.
The 7-story modern Commander residence was majestic and solid, also featuring a modern manor with a small courtyard of over a thousand square meters, with a private aircraft landing pad on top.
The field hospital was equipped with the most advanced medical equipment.
The residential area was full of life and a sense of order.
Small parks were dotted with greenery, and the open-air stadium was fully equipped.
A modern water treatment plant and two independent residential Power Plants ensured basic living needs.
Huge material warehouses were stacked full of daily necessities.
Most conspicuous were the 1,000 18-story residential buildings, neatly divided into 8 areas, with silver-gray exterior walls shining in the sunlight.
Each floor of each building had 4 standard 80-square-meter two-bedroom, one-living room, one-bathroom apartments, capable of accommodating a total of 72,000 households!
The supporting 8 street offices, 4 supply collection points, 1 special supply exchange center, 10 patrol team stations, residential hospitals, fire stations, etc., were all available, building a perfect community service system.
The production area was even more integrated with future technology.
The buildings for the chicken farm, duck farm, pig farm, cattle farm, and plantation adopted a chrono-dimensional space design, where the actual internal usable area was ten times the external building area!
This meant that within a limited space, it could produce enough meat, eggs, milk, and grain to supply the massive city!
There were also light industrial products, clothing, and so on, to supply all the survivors in the city.
