149: Chapter 149 Foreseeing the Killing

Chapter 149: Predicting Slaughter

What is known as "Stealing Heavenly Secrets"?

Various sects and schools have different opinions.

In the eyes of martial artists, it means putting oneself on the edge of life and death, elevating willpower to the Peak, dispelling all negative effects, and thus breaking through the existing Realm to achieve a higher level of martial arts Realm.

This method of practicing boxing is also called "Seizing Skill". Every time it is completed, it is equivalent to undergoing a physical and mental transformation, and the kung fu progresses rapidly.

In traditional Taoist culture, stealing heavenly secrets is actually a way to acquire the energy of nature and the Universe.

Those ancient cultivators believed that heaven and man, the Heavenly Dao and human Dao, and heavenly nature and human nature are similar and interconnected, and thus can achieve unity.

When this unified and harmonious state is achieved, a certain method of communication can naturally be realized, obtaining endless vitality and energy from between heaven and earth.

That is what people often call "the unity of heaven and man".

Many ancient scriptures and classics record similar words, such as:

"Heaven and earth are the thieves of all things; all things are the thieves of man; man is the thief of all things."

"Heaven has five thieves, and those who see them flourish. The five thieves are in the heart and implemented in heaven. The Universe is in the hand, and all things are born from the body."

In summary, the prerequisite for stealing heavenly secrets is that one must first place oneself in an extremely perilous or special environment.

On the snowy plateau, a method of Cultivation is popular: ascetics climb to the top of dangerous Peaks, sit naked in the ice and snow, and Meditate for days and nights.

They believe that this can bring them closer to the gods and Buddhas they believe in in their hearts, giving them the Opportunity to enter an extremely profound and perfect state, gain inspiration, greatly enhance their physical fitness, and even give birth to the legendary Divine Ability.

If the conditions are relaxed, Fang Cheng has actually experienced it once.

In that torrential early morning, he ran to the park alone to practice the Pull-up, challenging his own limits.

In the end, not only did he achieve a leap-like growth in his mental attributes and break through the 20-point mark, but the Pull-up skill was also successfully promoted.

Fang Cheng felt that the biggest difference between ordinary people and extraordinary beings,

Lies in not having enough life energy for you to consume, making it impossible for you to break through the shackles of talent defined for an ordinary person from the moment of birth.

Even if Fang Cheng has a panel to upgrade skills, it is not created out of thin air; it just overdraws part of the energy first, which needs to be replenished later.

If the replenishment is not timely, it will cause unpredictable negative effects on the body, the most obvious of which is hair loss.

Stealing heavenly secrets is a way to give ordinary people a chance to cross this threshold and achieve a qualitative leap in their life level.

However, this method is extremely dangerous and has many drawbacks.

Ordinary people wouldn't even dare to think about it, and they are easily defeated by themselves. Not only can their kung fu not make progress, but instead they get scared out of their wits and even pay the price with their lives.

It is only suitable for top experts among ordinary people to adopt as an unconventional means when they are close to a Breakthrough but have no way forward.

And it pays great attention to Opportunity, and must take into account the factors of favorable weather, advantageous terrain, and harmonious human relations.

If any of the three opportunities is missing, the ideal state of unity of heaven and man cannot be achieved, so there is a high probability of failure.

Back then, after the hidden skill "Potential Activation" failed, Fang Cheng relied entirely on his own willpower to support himself, and luckily entered that extremely profound Meditation state, thus successfully surviving his physical limits.

After Ma Jianguo told him how to "steal heavenly secrets" in Qigong Cultivation, he sternly warned him.

This method can only be tried at your own risk when your internal strength can no longer progress.

Fang Cheng was a bit hesitant at this moment.

Coming to Yongan Island to participate in the Meditation trip, he felt a sense of being summoned in the dark.

It seemed that the environment here was very compatible with his needs to enhance his strength.

At least in terms of advantageous terrain and harmonious human relations, it was indeed so.

Advantageous terrain: he successfully found an underwater training place with an excellent environment.

Harmonious human relations: he had once made a preliminary attempt to steal heavenly secrets, and now he had Acquired the Water Breathing talent.

And relying on the near-limit underwater high-pressure weighted training method, he successfully unlocked and upgraded various skills continuously.

It can be said that right now, whether it is his combat willpower or psychological state, he is at his personal Peak.

Following this momentum, to further Breakthrough the barrier of Qigong, which is extremely difficult for ordinary people, is not impossible.

The conditions for stealing heavenly secrets are already placed before him, it just depends on how he chooses.

If he doesn't try to take further risks, he can only slowly Cultivate Qi-sensation and gradually accumulate enough life energy.

Thinking of this, Fang Cheng's eyes couldn't help narrowing slightly.

Qigong can be said to be a path completely different from those monsters and ability users, and it is not an evil path of stimulating physical potential through potions and overdrawing life.

Historically, very few people have successfully walked this path through to the end.

After all, the life energy hidden within the human body is limited.

If one wants to achieve something, one must overcome unimaginable natural chasms and pay an effort hundreds of times greater than the training intensity of ordinary people.

Sitting cross-legged on the bed, Fang Cheng's thoughts drifted.

In his mind, that unfathomable underwater fissure that seemed to hide mysterious and unknown power emerged...

Suddenly, a slight "thump thump" sound reached his ears.

Someone was knocking on the door of his dormitory.

Fang Cheng's eyebrows twitched slightly, then he reined in his thoughts, got up from the bed, and walked over to open the door.

The door opened with a creak.

Only to see a graceful woman wearing a mask and glasses standing in front of him.

Her eyebrows slightly raised, and as her gaze turned gracefully, a hint of charm was revealed.

Although half of her face was covered, Fang Cheng still recognized her instantly.

It was Lin Chuqiao!

Seeing the look of surprise on Fang Cheng's face, Lin Chuqiao raised her hand to remove her mask, broke into a smile, and said:

"What, aren't you welcoming me?"

Fang Cheng quickly turned on the light and let her into the room:

"Didn't you go back to Dongdu?"

While asking, he immediately closed the door tightly, looking at her full of doubt.

"The ferry terminal of Yongan Island stopped operating the day before yesterday, with the reason being abnormal ocean currents nearby."

Lin Chuqiao explained softly, and then added:

"I asked the staff, and they also received the notice temporarily, and such things rarely happened in the past."

Hearing this, Fang Cheng frowned slightly:

"Is the Zhenxiang Society making a move?"

Lin Chuqiao nodded:

"Only they have the ability and reason to do this on Yongan Island."

Fang Cheng then asked:

"Where is Pan Wendi?"

"His body is fine now, and he originally wanted to go back to the training camp, but I ordered him to stay in the town."

"Then why did you come back? Aren't you worried about exposing your identity and being discovered by the Zhenxiang Society?"

"I'm just worried that you are in danger here..."

Lin Chuqiao suddenly answered in a soft voice.

Fang Cheng smiled indifferently, shook his head, and said:

"I don't intend to get involved in the fight between the Zhenxiang Society and that mysterious organization, how could I be in danger?"

"That's hard to say."

Lin Chuqiao immediately restrained her smile, then took a folded piece of drawing paper out of her pocket, unfolded it, and handed it to him.

"What is this?"

Fang Cheng looked in surprise at two rather scribbled drawings on the paper, which was about tabloid size.

One side depicted a simple slaughter scene, with dozens of messy corpses lying on the ground, some bizarre-looking, and some belonging to ordinary people.

The other side appeared relatively complex, featuring a high platform leaning against the sea, as well as several ships burning with raging fire, seemingly undergoing an extremely fierce battle.

There were also many people around, some worshipping, some exclaiming and fleeing, and others falling into the sea and struggling desperately.

"This is the image presented in my mind that I traced after using my precognition ability."

Lin Chuqiao parted her red lips slightly and explained:

"I can predict some things about myself, and I can also predict people and things associated with me."

"This morning I performed a divination and predicted that a bloody case will happen in the training camp base within three days, and the day after tomorrow is the Sea Sacrifice Festival..."
