351: Chapter 351 Because he's handsome, experts cooperate.

The office door was pushed open silently.

Gao Jin walked in slowly.

He had a tall and sturdy figure, and the Special Investigation Team's black uniform worn on him seemed like a tight, hard shell, outlining his muscular contours even more distinctly.

Officer Zhou Liang and A-Li hurriedly stepped aside to make way, bowing respectfully in greeting.

Then they quickly withdrew from the office and closed the door tightly.

Gao Jin did not even glance at Xu Hao, walked straight to the opposite side of the desk, pulled out a chair, and sat down.

The metal frame of the chair let out an overloaded groan.

An invisible sense of oppression instantly enveloped the entire office as he sat down.

"You asked to talk to me in person, what are you trying to confess?"

Gao Jin crossed his hands on the desk, his deep gaze finally falling on Xu Hao, cutting straight to the point.

Unlike the straightforward threats from Officer Zhou Liang and A-Li, this Advanced police officer of the Special Investigation Team was like a silent volcano.

His expression looked calm, but inside, it seemed to accumulate energy enough to burn everything down.

Xu Hao subconsciously swallowed a mouthful of saliva, and fine sweat couldn't help oozing from his palms.

"Don't be nervous, just do as I say."

Fang Cheng's voice rang out in Xu Hao's mind in a timely manner, acting like a tranquilizer that instantly smoothed away his panic.

"Now, answer him first: you don't know Cheng Jiashu, but you know White Owl."

"Uh, is it okay to say that?"

Xu Hao felt a bit apprehensive.

"Yes, rest assured and say it."

Having received Fang Cheng's affirmative reply, Xu Hao steadied his nerves, raised his head, and met Gao Jin's sharp gaze:

"Officer Gao, I really don't know that big star Cheng Jiashu."

"However, if the person you are looking for is that man wearing a white yaksha mask, then I might know him."

Hearing this, Gao Jin's eyes flickered slightly:

"What do you mean?"

"Before the Noah Organization held a meeting to carry out that Demon Hunting Operation, I had no idea that Cheng Jiashu was White Owl; I had only heard some of his deeds."

Resisting the pressure, Xu Hao received Fang Cheng's voice transmission while carefully organizing his words:

"Although I had met him a few times and spoken a few words with him before, every time we met, he wore that white mask, covering his appearance. How could I possibly guess his true identity?"

"Besides, for some unknown reason, he seemed to have a favorable impression of me and even casually helped me solve some minor troubles."

Gao Jin nodded slightly, his gaze carrying scrutiny:

"Why would he have a favorable impression of you?"

"Well, I'm not clear about that; you'll have to ask him in person."

Xu Hao shrugged: "Maybe... because I'm handsome?"

With Fang Cheng backing him up from behind, his mindset gradually relaxed, even carrying a trace of his habitual ruffian aura.

Gao Jin did not get angry because of this, nor did he dwell on this question.

After pondering for a moment, he spoke again and asked:

"If I asked you to contact him now, do you have a way to do it?"

"That won't work."

Xu Hao shook his head decisively; this answer didn't even need Fang Cheng to teach him.

"That man is elusive. In the past, I didn't even know his last name or what he was called, let alone where he lived."

"As for now, the Noah Organization is searching the whole world for him. He must be hiding himself very deeply; how could he easily tell me?"

What he said was reasonable and logical.

Gao Jin could not help falling into deep thought:

"Is there really no way?"

"Officer Gao, please forgive my bluntness."

Xu Hao tilted his head, as if deliberating for a long time, before summoning the courage to say:

"White Owl has a grudge against Noah, and the Special Investigation Team, as an official institution, also has the obligation to crack down on illegal organizations. The bastards he killed were all damn scoundrels, why do you have to keep your eyes on him and not let go?"

"What you said is correct."

Gao Jin spoke slowly, his voice carrying a complex nuance:

"On this matter, White Owl and I indeed share the same stance. Therefore, I hope to contact him through your channel."

Xu Hao secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Thinking to himself that this Officer Gao was quite reasonable, it seemed he should be able to bluff his way through today.

But Fang Cheng acutely captured a detail.

Gao Jin said "I", not "we".

"A-Hao, starting now, pretend to be very distressed and act a bit hesitant."

Fang Cheng pondered slightly and once again transmitted instructions through the mental connection:

"Then tell him that you have an untried special method that might be able to contact White Owl, but you must first make him agree to a condition."

"Ah? How would I know how to contact White Owl?"

Xu Hao was stunned upon hearing this, then reacted.

Could the boss know the contact method of that murderer?

Out of trust in Fang Cheng, he still decided to do as told.

Consequently, Xu Hao sighed deeply.

The entanglement and difficulty in that sound instantly attracted Gao Jin's attention.

Under the other's gaze, Xu Hao began his performance.

Sometimes he scratched his ears and cheeks, sometimes he rubbed his face with his hands, his facial features almost squeezing together.

The whole person seemed to be experiencing a battle between heaven and man.

Finally, he let out another heavy sigh, his face filled with the tragic determination of going all out.

"Officer Gao."

Xu Hao gave a dry cough, trying his best to make his expression sincere and not so hypocritical:

"I can understand your good intentions in maintaining Dongdu's social security and safeguarding the welfare of the broad masses of citizens."

"But based on my understanding of White Owl, his personality is relatively aloof and reclusive; he certainly wouldn't be willing to show his face voluntarily, let alone have direct contact with you official authorities."

Gao Jin's brows furrowed slightly.

Before he could make any indication, Xu Hao, as if having made a huge determination, slapped his thigh fiercely:

"How about this, I have a method I've never tried before, maybe... it can give you a chance to contact him."

"Of course, I dare not guarantee that it will definitely work. If it fails, please don't blame me!"

Hearing this, a sharp light flashed in Gao Jin's eyes:

"Go ahead and speak. I have always judged things by a person's intent rather than their actions. As long as you sincerely help, no matter the result, I won't blame you for it."

"In addition..."

Xu Hao paused for a moment and added solemnly:

"You must first promise me one condition: absolutely do not leak to White Owl or outsiders that I was the one who told you this contact method."

"Otherwise, even if you beat me to death, I won't say it!"

"I promise you, if I leak the news, may I be struck by five thunderbolts."

Gao Jin swore an oath without hesitation.

"Alright."

Xu Hao seemed to breathe a sigh of relief, then bossed around carelessly:

"Give me a pen and a piece of paper."

Gao Jin immediately took out a pen and a sticky note from the drawer, handed them over as requested, with a look of anticipation in his eyes.

Xu Hao solemnly picked up the pen, looking as if he was ready to write down a series of phone numbers or an address.

However, Gao Jin quickly found something amiss.

Xu Hao's handwriting was crooked, and his strokes failed to form characters.

It was simply like drawing little tadpoles, or rather, ghost talismans.

Moreover, every time he wrote a stroke, he had to stop and close his eyes to think for a long time.

Then, he would solemnly write down another stroke.

Writing and stopping like this, a few minutes passed, and the paper was still a pile of meaningless lines.

Gao Jin's patience was being consumed, but he still endured it without urging.

Finally, Xu Hao let out a long breath and put down the pen.

That look was as if he had just solved an extremely complex mathematical problem.

"What is this?"

Gao Jin finally couldn't help asking.

"This is the contact method."

Xu Hao pushed the slip of paper covered in ghost talismans across.

Gao Jin frowned, picked up the paper with both hands and scrutinized it carefully.

The symbols on it looked like some kind of never-before-seen letters, and also had a bit of hieroglyphic flavor; anyway, they were extremely bizarre.

Xu Hao rubbed his forehead, as if drawing this thing had consumed a lot of his energy, and explained feebly:

"This is the contact method White Owl gave me back then. He said that as long as I concentrate and chant the pronunciations of these incantations, I can enter a special mental space and conduct direct voice communication with him."

"My brain is slow, and I've never succeeded. I don't even know if he was lying to me."

"Since you want to find him so badly, I'll take it out and try. Anyway, it's like treating a dead horse as a live one."

Hearing the two words "incantation" and "mental space", Gao Jin's eyes flashed slightly, as if thinking of something.

"It's roughly like this, listen carefully."

Xu Hao didn't beat around the bush either, then cleared his throat and chanted in a strange tone:

"Om... A... Mi... Ma... Wa... She... Mou..."

The demonstrated pronunciations popped out of Xu Hao's mouth one by one, sounding extremely awkward, obscure, and difficult to understand.

However, this string of syllables falling into Gao Jin's ears sounded like some extremely pleasant heavenly music.

His lips moved, and he chanted in a low voice along with it.

Suddenly, the fingers pinching the paper trembled slightly, and a trace of strange radiance flashed in his eyes.

It seemed that in that very instant, he felt some inexplicable response and saw some special scene.

"There is also a very important point."

According to Fang Cheng's instruction, after trying hard to demonstrate, Xu Hao specially reminded him:

"If you successfully contact him, never address him by the name 'White Owl'."

Meeting Gao Jin's puzzled gaze, Xu Hao explained frankly:

"Because this name represents many unbearable memories in the past within the Noah Organization; he really hates being called White Owl."

"Now that he considers himself reborn, he calls himself 'Smiling Demon'."

Hearing this, Gao Jin nodded solemnly, feeling touched in his heart.

He remembered that on that night, the masked man had also flatly denied being White Owl.

"Thank you."

Gao Jin looked at Xu Hao, his expression becoming much softer:

"A-Hao, you performed extremely well in this undercover mission."

"When Noah Organization is eradicated in the future, I will personally request a citation for you, let you officially become a regular, and become a glorious member of the Special Investigation Team."

"Hehe, let's forget about that."

Xu Hao curled his lips:

"As long as you guys bother me less in the future and let me live a few more days of peace and stability, I'll be completely satisfied."

Then, he stood up and asked:

"If there is nothing else, can I leave now?"

A trace of a smile appeared on Gao Jin's serious face, making a "please" gesture to him.

The door opened with a "creak".

In the hallway pantry, Officer Zhou Liang and A-Li were leaning against the wall smoking and waiting.

Hearing the movement, they immediately stubbed out their cigarette butts and walked over quickly.

They eyed Xu Hao, and then looked at Gao Jin who was personally seeing him out, their faces full of astonishment.

They simply couldn't figure out why the boss would be so polite to this scoundrel hoodlum who acted as an undercover.

Xu Hao walked straight past the two of them and deliberately snorted.

He held his head high and stuck out his chest, walking with a swaggering stride as he left arrogantly.

"Captain Gao..."

Officer Zhou Liang and A-Li looked at Gao Jin doubtfully.

"Come in and talk."

Gao Jin motioned with his eyes.

The three returned to the office and closed the door.

"Xu Hao has already confessed clearly, no need to pay attention to him for now. White Owl's matter will be personally handled by me."

Gao Jin instructed in a deep voice: "You two, keep a close eye on the Red Tiger Gang and Noah Pharmaceuticals from now on. Report to me immediately the moment there is any movement."

A-Li immediately nodded in agreement.

Officer Zhou Liang hesitated for a moment and asked:

"Captain Gao, headquarters has issued a notice to temporarily suspend search and arrest operations targeting personnel of the Noah Organization. Should we still continue?"

Hearing this, A-Li also stopped his nodding action and looked at Gao Jin with some puzzlement.

Gao Jin's expression, however, was exceptionally firm:

"Now is the best time to strike at the Noah Organization and clear out this tumor, how can we easily let go?"

"The people above have their considerations, and we have our duties."

Pinching that slip of paper with ghost talismans in his hand, his gaze swept across his two trusted subordinates:

"As long as we can get in touch with the key figure 'White Owl', there is a great chance to sever one of the claws that the behemoth Noah has stretched into Dongdu."

"Even further, through his special identity, mastering the secret intelligence of the Noah Organization conducting human experiments in the Xia Country, I believe headquarters will eventually support us."

"However, would he be willing to cooperate with an official institution like ours?"

Officer Zhou Liang was still somewhat worried.

"He will."

Gao Jin said with certainty:

"Xu Hao is an uncultured hoodlum, yet just now he was able to answer fluently. Although his performance was slightly exaggerated, it also proved a point: someone was instructing him behind the scenes and made him prepare in advance."

"Obviously, that Mr. White Owl also has the intention to cooperate with us to deal with our common enemy."

Having said that, he turned around and gazed intently out the window.

The towering and densely packed tall buildings outlined golden contours under the sunlight.

How could such a beautiful city allow darkness to breed and spread unchecked in the shadows?

Gao Jin clenched the slip of paper in his hand, his eyes becoming sharper than ever before.

"..."

In the kitchen of the new residence in Wanghu Town.

The range hood hummed, and the aroma of food became richer and richer.

"Mom, Yu-xiang shredded pork is ready!"

Fang Cheng scooped out a whole plate of bright red and glossy dishes from the pot.

"Coming, coming!"

Li Biyun walked in quickly and carefully picked up the plate.

Uncle Li Dingjian's shout came from the living room:

"A-Cheng, hurry over and eat. There are enough dishes, stop fussing!"

"Alright!"

Fang Cheng turned off the heat, picked up another plate of stir-fried seasonal vegetables, and walked out of the kitchen.

On the round table in the living room, it was already filled with sumptuous dishes, steaming hot and overflowing with aroma.

The family sat around together, full of joy and harmony.

Grandfather Li Zhenhua picked up the small wine glass in front of him and said with a ruddy face:

"Come, everyone is here today, let's have a drink together! I wish our whole family peace, safety, and reunion in the future!"

"Cheers!"

Amidst the crisp sound of clinking glasses, it was filled with laughter and cheers.

Fang Cheng took a sip of the slightly chilled beer, his eyes narrowed slightly, and the corners of his mouth curled up unconsciously.

In his mind, recalling the remote confrontation with Gao Jin not long ago, he had ridden the tide and used a countermeasure against him.

That string of incantation passwords connecting to the "voice chat room" had already been handed over to the Special Investigation Team through Xu Hao.

Next, it depends on how those two experts, Gao Jin and Cheng Jiashu, will cooperate to deal with the Noah Organization for him.
