415: Chapter 415 Mysterious Master

Darkness shrouded the entire area, and the emergency lights had long since gone out.

Only the harsh sound of alarms faintly came through the thick alloy walls.

This was a biochemical laboratory deeply hidden on the 87th floor of the Noah Building.

At this moment, however, it had been reduced to a slaughterhouse.

The laminar flow hood was violently overturned, and various precision equipment and instruments either had dented casings or destroyed screens.

Countless glass fragments of Petri dishes and test tubes, mixed with metal brackets, covered the floor.

The air was everywhere permeated with a thick smell of blood and a pungent formalin odor.

Several corpses wearing guard uniforms lay in pools of blood.

Their expressions were ferocious, and their bodies showed unnatural twists, as if they had been attacked by beasts before death.

Rustle, rustle, rustle...

A slight scratching sound came from the metal floor, appearing exceptionally clear in the darkness.

A snake-like shadow glided close to the ground, slowly sliding out from behind a toppled instrument.

No, that was not a snake.

Instead, it was a dark red tentacle.

The surface was covered with mucus and fine barbs, and the tip was a constantly opening and closing sucker-like mouthpart.

It glided to the side of a guard corpse, and the tip violently plunged into the corpse's chest cavity.

The deceased's body then shriveled at a speed visible to the naked eye.

It was as if the flesh and blood essence of the entire body had been sucked dry by this thing in just a few seconds.

Soon, a second and third similar tentacle reached out from different corners, greedily sharing this feast of death.

Their direction of origin all pointed to the deeper darkness of the laboratory.

There was a passage, and a hint of ominous red light flickered within it.

It was like the entrance to Hell, yet it exuded a certain fatal temptation.

Following the light source forward, the scene before their eyes became increasingly bizarre.

The walls, ceiling, and ground here were all covered by a layer of flesh and blood tissue like a living thing.

Burned cables and muscle tendons intertwined together, and short-circuiting sparks occasionally flashed, illuminating the surroundings.

Thick tumors were arranged irregularly, bulging slightly, making slimy "squish, squish" sounds.

Dark red mucus continuously oozed from the cracks and dripped onto the ground.

The deeper they went, the denser this flesh-and-blood-like erosion manifestation became, almost filling the entire passage.

Walking among them, underfoot was sticky and slippery, as if being inside the intestines of some giant beast.

The tentacles coiled overhead sensed the breath of living things, raising their tips one after another, making "hiss, hiss" sounds like a poisonous snake spitting its tongue.

It was both like intimidating visitors and waiting for a good opportunity to devour people.

As for those guards previously stationed on the 87th floor, they had not completely disappeared.

Twisted and painful human faces were impressively embedded in the flesh and blood walls.

Their eyes were wide open, their mouths wide open, solidifying the shock and fear before death.

In addition to these remains that could be seen as humanoid, there were other strangely shaped biological tissues.

Like wax melted by high temperature, they stuck to the walls and hung down.

At the end of the passage was a completely transformed flesh and blood lair.

Red light permeated, reflecting the atmosphere of the entire space as exceptionally eerie.

In the exact center of the lair floated a huge red eyeball.

That eyeball was as big as a washbasin, and its surface was covered with a layer of moist film, like a heart that was still beating.

Every beat of it made the flesh and blood of the entire lair contract and expand accordingly.

Countless thick blood vessels covered the entire sphere like ugly root systems.

And they extended outward in a radial shape, piercing into the flesh and blood walls, closely connected with the surroundings.

As if it was the center and Dominator of this entire lair.

Seeming to sense the arrival of visitors, that huge pupil turned slightly, impressively gazing forward.

At this time, three figures were stepping on the flesh-and-blood-paved carpet, looking up at this eerie creation.

They wore tight black clothes and masks, exuding an inexplicable aura all over their bodies.

The surrounding tentacles that were originally baring fangs and brandishing claws curled up into a ball, avoiding them like snakes and scorpions.

They even actively shrank back into the flesh and blood walls, clearing a path for them.

"The crimson eye is severely damaged, and too much energy has been lost..."

A tall Man in Black spoke.

The voice was low and mellow, and it should be a middle-aged man.

He gazed intently at that eyeball, as if evaluating a precious collection.

"Second Uncle, did we arrive too late?"

Another person beside him took over the conversation, the voice sounding quite young, carrying a trace of undisguised disappointment.

"It's fine."

The middle-aged man shook his head, his tone flat:

"As long as the basic tissue structure is intact, it can slowly recover in the future."

"How long will that take?"

The young man appeared a bit anxious and muttered in a low voice: "If I had known earlier, I would have just rushed in and tried it just now."

"After the Inner World is formed, the entrance is erratic and very difficult to find."

The middle-aged man then patiently advised:

"And according to past experience, rashly breaking into an unknown space is too reckless; maybe the mission won't be completed, and you'll trap yourself inside as well."

"It's all Ma Biao's fault, that guy is truly stupid to death!"

Even while agreeing with the middle-aged man's words, the young man still couldn't help complaining:

"He said the Noah Organization was holding a meeting to prepare to destroy the materials of the 'Tree of Life' project, but it turned out to be just a front."

"Never mind that the news was inaccurate, he even exposed his own identity."

"Fortunately, we had other informants watching this side and discovering anomalies, otherwise everything would have gone down the drain."

"Heh, this is fine too."

The middle-aged man laughed instead:

"Right now, the Dongdu Branch has suffered heavy losses, and the monitoring in the experimental area has completely failed, which happens to be convenient for us to make a move without having to shoulder the blame."

The two seemed to be in an uncle-nephew relationship, discussing in low voices.

In their words, they revealed an understanding of the internal situation of the Noah Organization and Noah Pharmaceuticals.

A short and thin Man in Black beside them suddenly had his eyes turn obsessed, and his throat made a swallowing murmur.

Afterwards, as if pulled by invisible threads, he walked step by step toward that red eyeball and slowly extended his hand.

"Xiao Ming!"

The middle-aged man discovered it in time and let out an angry shout.

This voice exploded like thunder, instantly awakening that short and thin man named Xiao Ming.

Xiao Ming woke up as if from a dream, only to find in horror that the index finger and middle finger of his right hand were undergoing terrifying changes.

The fingertips were like being splashed with strong acid, emitting white smoke with a "sizzle" sound.

Blood-red tumors rapidly bulged under the skin and spread toward the surroundings.

He let out a panicked scream and abruptly withdrew his hand.

Seeing this, the middle-aged man cleanly and neatly stepped forward one step and raised his hand aimed at Xiao Ming's fingers.

I saw a mouth impressively split open on the center of his palm, and the air in front instantly collapsed, forming a micro-vortex visible to the naked eye.

Wisps of scarlet mist were forcefully extracted from Xiao Ming's fingers, plunging into the vortex in the blink of an eye and being swallowed by that mouth.

And the tumors on those two fingers quickly receded accordingly.

The fingers subsequently became shriveled and charred, like dead branches burned by a blazing fire.

It looked unsightly, but his life was finally saved.

"Second Master, this humble one is guilty! I shouldn't have been bewitched by this evil object."

Xiao Ming knelt on the ground in panic, cold sweat instantly soaking his back.

"This thing is very eerie; its power can bypass the physical body and directly erode you from the spiritual level, causing you to mutate."

The middle-aged man said with a solemn expression:

"Not to mention touching it, if your strength is below S-rank, or your will is slightly weak, taking one more glance will cause mental disorder."

"If it weren't for our Xiao Family's special Bloodline ability, just now you would have become a deformed monster just like those guards and become a part of it."

Hearing this, Xiao Ming looked at the distorted human faces on the surrounding walls, only feeling a slippery sensation under his feet and a churning stomach.

"The crimson eye is truly fated with our Xiao Family!"

The young man was not alarmed but instead rejoiced, his eyes full of excitement:

"Obtaining this treasure, perhaps in a few more years, I can also advance to S-rank."

The middle-aged man smiled slightly, then said in a deep voice:

"Let's make a move. Once the Noah Organization recovers its senses, we won't have a chance. And..."

He listened attentively, and the faintly approaching police sirens outside the building were getting denser and denser.

"The people from the Special Investigation Team are probably arriving soon too."

"Mn."

The young man rubbed his hands, appearing impatient.

"Yes, Second Master!"

The short and thin Xiao Ming also immediately perked up and crawled up from the ground.

The three quickly dispersed, standing in three positions respectively, surrounding the "crimson eye" in the center.

They raised their hands at the same time, their ten fingers flying, forming complex and profound hand seals, chanting words in their mouths.

Obscure chanting echoed in the flesh and blood lair.

The surrounding air seemed to become thicker, and began to hum.

The entire bloody space subsequently rippled with layers visible to the naked eye.

Chi, chi, chi.

Three slender white lights shot out from the centers of the middle-aged man's, the young man's, and Xiao Ming's brows respectively.

Like three flexible spider silks, connecting the three people together.

Then, they intersected in the air directly above the crimson eye, connecting with each other and forming a wondrous triangular rune.

They seemed to be preparing to open a magical formation or summon something.

A few seconds later, the space at the light-focused point began to tear apart.

As if a mouth was opening, blooming with dazzling white light from within.

Seeing this, the three people's actions of forming seals instantly became faster.

The middle-aged man's expression was calm and unhurried.

The young man and Xiao Ming were already sweating profusely, and obviously maintaining this magical formation consumed quite a bit for them.

In less than a moment, a spatial rift exuding white light, like a door, quietly floated in mid-air.

The halo gently rippled like water waves, and subtle energy hums faintly came from within.

Seeing this, the young man and Xiao Ming breathed a sigh of relief at the same time.

The middle-aged man withdrew his hand seals, and was about to step forward to personally harvest that huge eyeball.

Right at this moment, a sound of footsteps came from the passage entrance.

The three immediately turned their heads to look.

I saw a figure stumble in.

The newcomer was wearing a suit, but it had already become strips of rags.

Their hair was messy, and their face was stained with blood and dust.

Looking as disheveled as a beggar who had just crawled out of a garbage dump.

Looking at this uninvited guest, the middle-aged man frowned slightly, and after carefully examining him once, couldn't help speaking in surprise:

"Minister Luo?"

Minister Luo Lie was slightly startled, looking vigilantly at the three weirdly dressed guys in front of him:

"What kind of people are you? How do you know me?"

They had their faces covered with a guilty conscience look, obviously impossible to be members of the Noah Organization.
